"Harry, I like you. I want to be with you. Will you be mine?" Alex said to the handsome man standing in front of him, wearing a sea green t-shirt with white denim. His skin was tanned, and his hair a bit messy from the cold wind flowing on the shore of the lake. His eyes looked alluring, it reflected the color of the green seawater, they were deep and mesmerizing. He glared at Alex, she was wearing a beautiful black flare dress with her hair, swinging with the rhythm of the mildly cold night breeze. Her skin looked perfect with light make-up and her cheeks, were red, little from the pink blush she put on and more from the way Harry looked at her. They were standing on the green grass barefooted, deeply drowned in each other’s gaze.

"I like you too Alex. I’ve liked you ever since I first saw you." He confessed leaning towards Alex. They were getting closer and closer. His warm hand went on her cheek, he lightly caressed his cheeks with his thumb. tugging a strand of hair behind her ear he kissed her forehead then her lips. He gave her a sweet, delicate kiss, a kiss filled with love and care. The atmosphere between them was getting more and more hot and tensed, as they separated from the kiss and looked again in the eyes.

Again, they got closer and started kissing, but this time the kiss wasn't sweet and romantic like before. It was hotter and more desperate. Soon as their desires surfaced, their bodies get closer and closer until there was no gap left. Their hands were exploring each other's bodies like there was a lot for them to explore. Drowned in their feeling they kissed till they lost their breaths. When they separated, they were both breathless. Alex smiled at Harry, the smile wasn't all sweet and adorable like she usually gives him. It had a hint of lust in it too this time. Chills ran through Harry’s spine from her smile. Alex kept her hair on her right shoulder exposing her back. As she moved her hand to the zipper on the back and opened it. Harry was watching her moves, he never thought Alex could be this bold, she was always the shy kind of girl. His pupils dilated looking at Alex undressing. Opening and removing her dress, Alex is now left in nothing but her bra and knickers. she dropped the dress on the grassy ground and again moved her hands to the back to open her bra. Getting naked she threw her clothes on the ground and get closer to Harry. Her hands went to the hem of his shirt pulling out his t-shirt and throwing it on the ground. Harry let her do what she pleased.

Just in a few seconds both of them were naked, kissing. Devouring in each other's arms they were exploring the bare skin of each other's body.

"Wanna swim with me?" Alex said in a sensual tone.

"The water must be cold." Harry blurted, h was completely allured by Alex.

"Come", Alex said walking back into the lake water.

"Wait for me." Said Harry as he saw that Alex went inside the water. So, he too went inside the water following her.

As they were inside the water, both naked, their needy bodies were rubbing against each other. The water was indeed cold, but their desires increased the temperature around them. They swam and talked and kissed and kissed for a long time. They were breathless but still there refused to stop.

"I love you so much, I will go crazy," Harry whispered in her ears leaving a warm breath which was enough to give her chills.

"You will break up with Lilly now that we are together right? I want you all by myself." Said Alex looking into his deep green eyes. She wanted Harry’s love so bad that she could no longer differentiate between what’s right and what’s wrong. She knew from the beginning that Harry was in a relationship with her best friend Lilly, but blinded by her own feelings for Harry, she ignored everything else and went with what her heart said.

"I will, I only love you." He said kissing her forehead. Harry wanted her, desired her, loved her for so long. He could no longer convince himself to stay with Lilly. The love between them vanished long ago, but scared of hurting her feelings, he could never bring himself to end their relationship. They were childhood friends after all.

They were in the water away from the shore for a long time, but as the temperature of the water started to fall further, they decided to go back to their home together.

They were swimming to the shore. Getting out of the water Alex turned to see Harry who was just behind her, but now he was nowhere to be seen. Astounded she looked for him and called his name what she heard a muffled voice coming from the water,

“Alex save me... Aaaahhhhhhhh... Someone is pulling me down.” The words came out unclear. But Alex knew that it was Harry’s voice.

“Harry… Harry… where are you?” she said but hearing no reply she made a jump in the water. Taking a long breath, she drowned her head in the water to look for Harry. But inside, the water was dark. She could no see anything. Getting her head out she again called for Harry.

“Harry… Harry... can you hear me? This is not a joke damnit. Come out. If this is a prank, I swear I’ll kill you right now.” For once she thought that maybe Harry is pranking her again like he did many times. But again, a muffled voice came through. It was almost inaudible, but Alex knew where that was coming from. She swam in the direction. She found Harry in the water struggling to swim as if someone was holding him back, pulling him. She pulled his hand to try to get him to the surface. But maybe she was not strong enough, she couldn’t pull him up. Storing all her strength she pulled him again, and this time she succeeded, he was almost to the surface when she felt a jolt of power pulling them both down. For a moment water became still, maybe they both lost their hope. There was no movement in the lake water. Suddenly then came the voice of someone breathing loudly. The voice was desperate and breathless. It was Alex, she swam to the shore, barely. She looked exhausted and gloomy. Coming out, she was coughing hard and vomited. Calming herself she took Harry’s phone out of the pocket of his pants and dialed the emergency number for help since there was no one around. She wore her clothes after the call and waited for some help to come.

The professional rescuing team and a medical team was there soon. Sitting on the grass, Alex was a crying mess. She felt helpless that he could help Harry and let him drown. The rescuers were looking for him in the water, while the medical team was giving first aid to Alex. After the search for a whole hour, Harry’s body still could not be found.

“so, what’s for breakfast?” I asked Reeve, who was still in the bed sleeping like a log.

“umm… what is the time?” he said yawning.

“it’s nine, get up, we have to leave now.” He got up from the bed and said,

“I'll have pancakes.”

“Okay, get ready fast. I'll wait…”, I was saying when suddenly my phone beeped, it had a new notification.

“what is it?” Reeve asked looking at me with his sleepy eyes.

“I programmed my phone to get any local news. I think it is that.” I told him.

“so, what is the news?” he asked again.

I read the headline and looked at Reeve who was still looking at me. I gave him a ‘you gotta be kidding me’ expression.

“What happened now?” Reeve must know from my expression that something was wrong.

“last night another person died in the green moose lake,” I informed.

“what? Again? How is that possible? We burned her bones.” He said astounded.

“I think there is something else connecting her to the earth. We should look for that.” I suggested.

“Should we go back to that grub again?” Reeve said.

“I think that ring could be the thing.” I spoke out. “wait a minute, you don’t have it with you right?” I asked.

“I think I do,” he said smiling weirdly.

“When will you run not to bring such stuff with you.”

“see now we don’t have to go back to that place again, we can burn it here.” He said.

“give me that, don’t burn it. I think maybe she is still waiting for her husband to give her ring back. Come I know what we have to do.”

“we’re not gonna burn it?” Reeve said.

“let’s go, I’ll explain it to you on the way,” I replied.

“she wrote in the journal that she will wait for her husband to return their wedding ring, but then she died. She didn’t live to see that.” I spoke.

“so, you are going to do what?” he asked.

“I am gonna give her back what belongs to her,” I uttered. Reeve drove his car while I was sitting beside the ruby embedded gold ring.

We reached the lake in a few minutes.

“now you wanna tell me what you’re planning to do?” Reeve asked me.

I went near the water and tossed the ring in the water.

“what did you do?” Reeve yelled out.

“Just wait and see,” I said to him.

We were both looking at the lake when suddenly a lustrous spark rose from the water. It rose to the surface. It wasn’t too bright but I can say it was a spirit turning to a soul and rising for the afterlife. That spark disappeared after going upward to the sky.

“How did you know what to do to free the spirit for the afterlife?” Reeve said amazed.

“I didn’t know. I made a guess.” I said smiling.

“what? What if it didn’t have worked?” he said irritated.

“but I worked, think of it as a beginner’s luck.” I joked.

“yeah right.” He said.

We went back to the car and drove off to look for another adventure.
