Chapter – 10 Episode – 3 Twenty-four Jim Two days later, “boys meet Edward Glenn; he will be your partner in the stay and this is Davin Glenn he will be responsible to shoot everything that your cameras couldn’t. And just like you boys, they are brothers too.” Savanah told us. “Hey, I'm Jim and he is my brother Reeve,” I said as we shook hands. They were quite similar looking, both tall but I think Edward was a bit taller. They were both handsome, similar intriguing pair of eyes just the color was different. Edward had light brown eyes and Davin's was green like Reeve. “Nice to meet you,” Edward said then followed by Davin. “we will provide you with scripts, and all the tasks that you will have to be doing on the location, read it well make sure you have memorized it. I don’t like reshooting.” Savanah instructed us. “Read this carefully boys”, she said loudly to all four of us. “the shooting will begin tomorrow morning at six. Production will provide you everything necessary for a day, food, water but no alcohol. You just have to bring yourself. And be on time. Shooting must not be delayed.” She said marching away leaving us four to have a bonding. The next day, 5 am, We were on our way to the address that was given to us. We did a background check on the place and apparently that place used to be the residence to many families in the past, but right after the last family moved out of here no one came to live here ever again. “Are you nervous?” Reeve asked me out of the blue. “I'm not nervous… nervous, but just a little tense,” I confessed. Maybe he already knew this looking at my expressions. “Nothing will happen, I'll protect you. Don’t worry.” He said smirking at me. We finally reached the place. Edward and Davin were already there, maybe waiting for us. It was almost six am now, the sun was slowly raising the bay spreading the sunshine across the place. The house was secluded with thick dense forests surrounding it by all sides. The house was old, it looked like that. The last family left this place in the late nineteen-ninety. I'm assuming there is no renovation after that. Davin prepared the cameras for us and himself too. “This house has a name too. the ghost villa,” Davin said as we were approaching. “I can't believe I am actually going in this place. If anything happens, I swear Davin I will hate you forever.” Edward said, his breath was uneven as he was constantly filling his lungs with big gasps of air. “look at this building, it is so imposing,” Reeve said. “I'm surprised you are conscious right now.” Said Davin to Edward almost laughing at his petrified state. “I'm keeping it together. There is a good chance that tonight will be the night you'll see me die on camera.” His brother replied. The place was widely spread. Maybe some Richie rich built it. It was bigger than a mansion itself. I was astounded by how luxurious it would have been in its full glory when being abandoned for decades it still looked so astonishing. The mansion stood there as if the surrounding nature had embraced it, that the flora flowed within it as much as around it. For the architect must have loved the trees so much that there was a mighty oak in the center, centuries-old, and this great house had been built around it. It just felt luxurious, it is hard to tell that a place like this could be haunted. It looked more like a preserved building. The mansion was all concrete and tall glass windows. And as the humans had abandoned it, the beautiful nature was taking its toll on it. “man, it kinda looks like a castle.” Said Davin. “kinda looks like hell,” Edward spoke. “no, it looks like Hogwarts,” Reeve said getting all three of ours eyes gazing on him. “there’s not one part of me that’s like, oh man I'm all for it now. And what the f**k is that?” Edward almost got a heart attack. “It’s just a tree dude, stop being such a coward,” Davin spoke. “it’s easier for you to say.” He replied. “that’s not a ghost, that’s just its branches,” Davin said again. “Jesus Christ dude. It almost got me.” “I think we should let them know we are coming,” Reeve said and started marching inside. “hey ghosts, we are here. You should all be scared now.” He shrieked. “what the hell is your brother doing?” Edward said looking at me while embarrassed I just shrugged my shoulders. “let’s all go in,” Davin said. We entered the mansion and set up the lights and cameras. “This looks like the place where nightmares are made,” Edward commented. “it’s not as bad,” I commented. “it’s very dark. It’s a dark hallway.” Reeve added. We placed four chairs in the hallway of the mansion and the lights and camera were set up by Davin. “let’s ahh… let's just breakdown the history of this place,” Davin said. “I don’t understand any of this.” the spooky vibe of this place was spooking Edward out of his wits. “I regret agreeing on coming to this place.” He added. “okay now shush everybody. I'll roll the camera now.” Davin said and rolled the camera before sitting back on the chair. The chairs were set up the way in groups of two chairs together place parallel to the other group. There was some space between the chairs which made it possible to see quite far in the hallway, as far as the light goes. Even though the sun has risen to the horizon the hallway was still darkened. The lights that we brought were the only thing keeping the dark away from the room at that time. But maybe soon, the sunlight will sprout inside and enlighten the place. “let’s breakdown the history now guys?” Edward said “yes,” Reeve replied. “have you memorized your script?” Davin asked. “yes,” I replied and so did Reeve and Edward. “remember the tone should be spooky and scary.” He added and we all nodded. “in July 26th, 1901, Jonathan Vesper, a famous businessman built this house for his family of four to live when they want to be close to nature. He, his wife, and seven- and five-year-old sons moved in permanently soon after the inauguration. They loved the interiors and the feeling of this house. Mrs. Vesper gave birth to their two daughters in this house in the coming five years.” Reeve said. “People used to envy the luxurious life they were leading in this house. They were both rich and successful but soon the evil looks their happiness away.” Edward said. “one night when the family was asleep an intruder after robbing the place empty fired holes in the heads of the mother and the four kids. Vesper was out all night for work but when he returned the next morning, he found his wife and kids on the floor pooled in his. Drowned in the sadness of losing his family he took his life the next week in that house too.” I spoke. “then, on December 1st, 1910 another family moved in, a family of five, two daughters, twins, five-year-old, their teenage son, and Mr. and Mrs. Freddie just to meet the same fate five years later. From the depression of going bankrupt, Freddie killed his whole family leaving no one behind, not even himself, and committed suicide in that house too.” “After so many murders and deaths, this house got popular in the town for its bad luck and bringing destruction, no one after that dared to live in this house. The government reduced its rate by a whopping seventy-five percent but still, no one dared to live in this place.” Reeve ended. “let’s take the camera to the first floor,” Reeve said. As we moved up, there was the bedroom with the most recorded activities on the south of the first floor. “It was long last Christmas eveningThe snow was on the groundAt his home in North CarolinaThe murderer, he was found His name was Charlie LawsonAnd he had a loving wifeBut they never knew what caused himTo take his family's life They say he killed his wife at firstWhile the little one did cryPlease papa won't you spare usHow it is so hard to die But the raging man could not be stoppedHe would not heed their callHe kept on firing fatal shotsAnd there he killed them off They say he killed his wife at firstWhile the little ones did cryPlease papa won't you spare usHow it is so hard to die” - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -- -
