Chapter- 9 Episode- 5 To the land of dreams. Flashback, Lily was peacefully sleeping on her nice soft cozy bed, when a strange voice came from inside her room, trying to wake her up saying, “Hello, Lily.” The voice, it was hushed, feminine and soft, and more to tell, it was warm and royal and comforting at most, like someone from a faraway chateau came upon to wake her up from her dreamland maybe wanted to take her to one. Lily slowly opened her moon-like eyes. Rubbing the sleepiness away from her small, brown, eyes, she saw a young woman with medium-length strawberry-blonde hair, blue eyes, and fair complexion standing in front of her bed. Her dress boasts countless layers of tulle on the petticoat and no less than four miles of thread. The style was although vintage, but even so she can feel the beautiful and charming and royal aura radiating from her. She was still sleep’ish, but she could still tell who she liked, she could tell it even in her dreams, it was her favorite after all. “wow, Cinderella?” Her beautiful appearance was imprinted in her head. She looked just as beautiful as in the thoughts of Lily. “yes, I am your friend, Cinderella, would you like to play with me? I can make your wishes come true.” The young blond said. “What is it that you want, tell me?” The lady alluringly added. “wow! You are real.” She said moreover surprised. Andrea always teased her saying that princesses and fairies don’t exist, she told her that she is too childish to believe in them. But right now, she was in the ninth cloud, she now knows that they are real, one was in front of her after all. “Mom said that you will be my friend and play with me if I’ll be a good girl. I did all the good things mommy asked me to do, I am a good girl Cinderella. Now, will you play with me?” Lily was both curious and confused about how her favorite princess hopped out of the tv and is now standing in front of her, talking and smiling too. “you are a good girl Lily, you listen to your mother, I like kids like you,” Cinderella said charmingly. “did fairy godmother send you here to be my friend?” She asked. “She is very kind,” Lily added. “fairy godmother told me how good of a child you are little princess, she sends me to you and here I am to grant you a wish, anything you want you can just ask,” Cinderella told her. “but I can’t tell you my wish”. She said innocently. “why don’t Lily, is something not well with you?” The lady in the blue asked. “’Cause if you tell a wish, it won’t come true. You said that I remember.” Lily answered. “you can tell me. I am your friend right. You can tell your wishes to your friends.” Lily naively nodded her head in a yes replying to her princess. “I want to be with you and all the other princesses and fairies in the magic world,” Lily told her. “if you want that, I can make it happen,” Cinderella said. “but what about the prince? If I live with you, will he be fine with it?” She asked. “Does he know you are coming to play with me, to be my friend? He will be worried if he won’t find you in the palace.” She added again. “you are a good child Lily; you worry about everyone. Don’t worry about the prince, he is out of town right now on a business. He won’t be back till next week.” Cinderella answered. “do you like living in the palace with him? It must be so cool living there.” Lily curiously questioned. “the palace is magnificent and charming, Lily, just like how you saw it on the tv and in the book. You will love it there. I can eat whatever I want. I have lots of friends there to play with. I can play whenever I want and everyone in the palace loves me and they do whatever I ask them to do. You can be like this too if you come with me.” Cinderella told her in her lovely voice luring her into her honey trap. “wow, your home is so cool, here, mom won’t give me chocolates and candies. She says it will give me cavities.” Lily complained to her. “oh, my child. You know in our palace; we have a chocolate fountain. A very big one. It has really delicious chocolate flowing through it.” Strawberry blond told her. “wow! Really? Can you eat all that chocolate?” Lily asked. “yes, whenever and how much I like. It never gets less.” She answered. “How cool, I want to see it too. Will you let me eat from it?” Lily asked. “you can eat all you want, little lady. My Prince, he likes cute kids like you. He will be very happy seeing you in the palace.” She answered. “I want to come with you. But my mom will be worried if I am not in my room and she won’t find me anywhere in the morning.” Lily said. “she won’t be worried Lily; she will be happy when she finds out that you went with me to my palace. She will be very proud of you. No one has ever come with me to the palace. You are the first one because you are very special and your mom loves that about you.” Cinderella said. “really? But what about my school? Mommy says that school is very important for kids. If I go with you, all my friends will miss me and I will too. And then who will do my homework?” Said Lily confused about what to do. “yes, school is very important, my dear. And you can come back after this weekend. You can spend that time there in the palace. What do you think?” Cinderella offered. “I can live there for three days?” She purely asked. “yes, you can my dear, and when you come back you can tell all your friends that you came with me to my palace and also that you played and ate with me. You can also tell Andrea how much fun we had together. She will stop bullying you then.” The blond suggested in her sweet voice. “How did you know about Andrea? Did you meet her too?” Lily asked her. “I know all about my friends and you, my dear, is my dearest and most special friend.” She replied again in her feminine voice. “I will go with you but I will have to come back to my school on Monday,” Lily reasoned. “yes, my dear whenever you want.” She agreed. Suddenly, a bright yellow light came enlightening the glow-in-the-night stars enlightened room and as soon as it appeared in that room the sooner it dissipates into thin air leaving behind just the little girl who was standing near her bed, she went back inside the duvet and fell asleep. - - - - - - - - - Sitting inside their car, Reeve and Jim were almost at the end of their journey to Omaha, the car was still speeding. It was night time already and Jim who was reading a book, which he loves as a kill time hobby, at the start of their journey is now dozing off, with his head back and forth from the window to his seat’s headrest from the cars speed and the road bumps. It was good that he had a travel pillow around his neck or else it would have been a disaster for his neck once he is awake. And Reeve he is alive and kicking, fuelling himself with a red bull which he had already gulped down a few cans and peed even more time than he can account for. His energy levels were still unstable. They have been on the road for almost a day now, which was the least they could take to cover the distance. He reached the address his friend forwarded him a few hours back. Halting the car in front of the house, where he was supposed to meet his friend, he tried waking up his sleeping beauty of a brother. “wakey wakey, you little piece of sh… sunshine, it’s morning,” Reeve said making a fake sweet voice. “aren’t we there yet.” He said yawning. He looked around to see the car was dead. So, he asked, “Is this your friend’s house?” “This is what she texted me to come.” He answered. “This isn’t a house; this is almost a villa. You never told me your friend is this rich. I mean see they had a Mercedes Benz parked in front of their house. I think this is the time when we get to be how expensive and luxury will make you feel. First in California and now this, good days” He teasingly said. “Okay enough of this chit chat let’s get into the jobs we are here for.” Reeve suggested and Jim just nodded at his words and said, “you’re right.” “What do you think Jim, what must have been going on here?” Reeve questioned. “What your friend, ah… Juliane right?” Jim confirmed looking at Reeve in a questioning expression. “yeah” to his question, Reeve muttered. “yeah, what Juliane said about her daughter, that she has been acting strange, to be honest, I don’t think it is that big of a deal, she is just a kid and maybe she is going through some phase. Kids do that sometimes. It shouldn’t be a big concern. You also use to drink alcohol from the fridge, it isn’t that big of a deal. To be honest, I am just here to enjoy a good piece Runza, it’s been so long since I have that.” Jim said almost getting the deliciousness of Omaha’s most beloved local food on his palette. “I bet you do, but I think it will be better if we check it out once just to be sure about it,” Reeve suggested. “She seemed to be some special friend of yours. Aren’t you gonna tell me about it?” Jim teased. “I think we should concentrate on our job here,” Reeve replied trying to change the subject. “forget it, let’s go inside first,” Jim spoke. Walking out of there again not so shiny, dust-covered car, and standing on the door they dinged the bell. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
