Chapter-6 Episode-4 Don't Piss off the Fairy Folk “okay Juliane, I think we should leave right now, you look exhausted. get some rest everything will be good like before soon. We will do our best.” They stood up to take leave. “yes Julie, we will be back soon, and please don’t worry about Lily, she will be fine and back to how she was, I promise you that.” Jim entrusted her. They were out on the lawn of that villa, what they called their house, the lawn was green and colorful with many beautiful flowers. Julie went inside after seeing them off. “now will you say it?” Reeve suddenly spoke breaking the silent atmosphere. “what?” Jim said, he thought his brother would have understood. “what just happened in there? What was your theory?” he asked. “I have read this in a book, I think this is an elf possession or fairy possession.” He answered. “what? Are you hearing what you are saying? You are saying that a fairy is possessing that girl.” He said shocked. “but isn’t a fairy supposed to be a good tiny being that helps others with magic?” he added. “no fairies are not always good,” he said. “fairies are eviller than they are good. A fairy is the beings that are called to be in between demons and angels, hell, and heaven. They are the fallen angels cast out of heaven, they haven’t committed sins to be thrown in hell and to burn there and they were not good enough to be permitted to stay in heaven. So, they keep hanging between the two worlds and couldn’t ascend the celestial world again for eons. So, they prey on humans to keep themselves and their species alive.” “What makes you believe that it is a fairy.” They were talking when suddenly Jim got a notification on his phone. “let’s talk about it later,” Jim said and get inside the car. Getting back in the motel room after having their dinner Reeve said, “great we are back again in such lousy motel rooms. I am really missing that hot shower already.” “We were there for just a few days, come on now just get over it,” Jim advised. “so now will go ahead and speak?” he asked. “wait I have something to show you,” Jim spoke. “what is it now?” he again questioned. “here, I bought a book when you were busy eating that junk again.” Jim took a book out of the bag they always have in their car. “what? when did you get the time for it?” he asked bewildered. “Just when you were busy flirting with that redhead,” Jim commented. “come on man, she was hot…” Reeve said in a duh tone, “and see, she gave me her number.” Reeve took a paper and his phone out of his pocket and said showing it to him. “I wish something would have happened today. But I have something for my focus right now. So maybe getting laid would have to wait. And wanna know what the best part is, the redhead had a bestie, they are in threesome kind of stuff.” He said giving a dirty expression. “Uhh!, dude, next time keep these things to yourself, I don’t wanna know about it.” Jim warned. “it ruins my day.” He added. “wow this looks kind of old, where did you get it?” Reeve said looking at the book. “you didn’t notice, but there was a vintage shop just near the restaurant. I was there when you were flirting.” He told his brother. “ok now stop nagging about me getting laid, if you are jealous, I can arrange it for you if you want, but for now just show me what is so special about what you got.” He demanded. “This is a codex,” Jim said. “for what? Why do you need this codex for?” Reeve doubted. “why do you think I asked you to go to that specific restaurant?” Jim was searching for the codex that can help him translate the book, ever since he got to know about the Book of Darkness. He knew that the book had much more than just some frustrated witch spells. It was confirmed when he talked to his professor at the university about the history of the book. “so, you knew you will get this book there.” Said Reeve. “I did my research.” Jim responded. “did you know that book of darkness that we have has information and spells that can help us in hunting monsters and killing them?” Jim inquired his baffled brother, for him it was just a book filled with magic spells which are indestructible but can be destructible to others if a witch puts its hands on it. “that’s just a book for black magic spells, that are supposedly dangers to humans and humanity.” Claimed Reeve. “you are wrong, the book is no normal. It’s far from what you comprehend it to be.” Jim told his brother. “It doesn’t just have some spells for dark magic like you think it does, it is so freaking much more than that.” He again added claiming the value of the book to his brother. “you know that a witch wrote that book, right?” he questioned and Reeve just gave him a little nod in a yes. “And that was all her knowledge about the magical world and the dark world all in that book, all that she knew about these things were in that book, she wanted to defeat all of them to conquer over every dark thing out there and not just a few witches that were already weaker than her magic, so she created some deadly spells that can turn them to dust,” Jim explained. “if that is what you are saying then we would need a witch to cast those spells in the book, and you know that risking a witch with that book, I don’t think it is a very good idea. Their magic is black for a reason.” Reeve explained his concerns. “I am not thinking of it either, this is why I bought this book of the codex,” Jim answered. “Okay, but how?” he questioned again. “maybe with the help of this book, we can break the code of the spells, the book has an incredible description on all the list of ingredients that can be used in the work we do and that has the power to kill some monster. Also, the book is incredibly descriptive of the monster that the witch came across.” Jim informed. “maybe, you said? There is no guarantee that those spells can be helpful?” he inquired for which Jim answered, “We always have to try to be sure.” “Okay so how long will it take?” again he asked. “not sure, maybe some weeks, or months. If we both do it together, we might be able to do it much sooner than a month.” “do you think it has a spell to cast the fairies out of a human?” “it sure had; it at least has information on fairies. It can be helpful. I just need to break it down to know it.” Jim answered. “so why don’t you get started then?” “I will look more on the fairies on some other sources, while you do that,” Reeve instructed. The motel room they rented this time was bigger than the last one they had, it was much cleaner and comfortable too; they needed more space to do their own research, so it was ideal. The room they rented out had twice the space compared to the previous one, the beds were bigger and more comfortable and warmer.  Reeve was working sitting on the wooden coffee table they had in the room near their beds with his laptop on it which he was using, while Jim was working on a work table, it was also wooden, that was just beside the door of the room. He had the two books on it, the Book of Darkness and the codex, he was working with. But there were many other pages and notebooks. He was drafting everything he can make sense out of in the book.     After a few hours, “Hey Jim listen here,” Reeve called his nerd. “you got something?” Jim questioned back. “yeah, just listen first about the symptom of the fairy possession the book says”, Reeve spoke to which Jim asked, “What book are you reading?” “it is from ancient occult literature. There is a website for hunters which has all such books, where we can order them or just read them there. Now let me read it out for you, elf-possession in the Anglo-Saxon and Saxon evidence however is not what we would in modern contexts associate with demonic possession, necessarily, and is marked by fevers, nightmares, and madness more generally. Madness in these cases was usually described as marked changes in personality, nervousness or anxiety, or significant behavioral changes. Involuntary possession by fairies seems to occur most often when a person has transgressed against the Good Folk in some way, although they may not be aware of having done so. It also occurs, looking at anecdotal evidence, to children whose parents have transgressed in some way. It is also possible that such possession can be invited by an individual voluntarily, either as a result of seduction by a fairy or through a desire for prophecy.” He read out, Jim was on a head trip with his words, focused. “she has the madness thing at least; she was picking up sugar grains from the ground.” Reeve again commented. “that is something else than madness, madness in this context is exhibiting different behavior. What she did was different, I have read that to find out if some is a fairy or being possessed by them, just spill some salt or sugar in front of them, they will be obsessed to pick up every grain off of it. Nothing will be able to stop it. This is a weakness that they exhibit.” Jim explained Reeve. “This book also reads; a fairy can influence a person's perceptions through the use of illusion - glamour - they can also directly influence a person's mind by bringing madness or even by displacing the spirit and taking over control of the person's actions.” He again read from the book. “what does it mean by glamour?” Jim questioned. “maybe like how a kidnapper lures a child to coax them in coming with them by giving it candy, or a chocolate bar. That could be kind of similar to this, I guess.” Reeve answered. “didn’t Julie said that Lily liked princess and fairies?” Jim asked. “yeah, every kid likes fairy and magical things.” Reeve said in an ‘obviously’ tone. “maybe that is how the fairy enticed her and took her over her body. I mean they can-do magic right.” Said Jim. “This could be a thing, see the book says in the history of the fairy possession, historically there were a variety of examples of this, ranging from voluntary to involuntary, temporary to longer-term. Like the more commonly understood demonic possession, however, possession by fairies was problematic enough that cures and exorcism rituals for it exist.” “I don’t think it is as serious as demonic possession, at least she hasn’t killed anyone. All demons do is s*******r humans and anything that comes in their way.” Jim commented. “no, you are wrong in it, she indeed hasn’t killed anyone but the fairy spirit inside her will kill her,” Reeve told Jim. “what does it mean?” he questioned. “It means once a fairy is inside a human vessel, it will feed on its soul bit by bit, and slowly once the energy of the soul is all exhausted the human will die and the fairy will move on to another vessel and do the same.” Reeve answered his brother,” There is a reason that they feed on young kids and not on adults, their souls have new and brighter energy than the one who is older. This way they can feed for a longer time and satiate themselves.”  Reeve responded. “you got anything from the book?” he again questioned to which Jim answered. “something but not much. It might take longer than I expected.” “Okay, carry on,” Reeve instructs. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -  The lore says if you read without sharing the ghost might come after you.
