Chapter- 8 Episode- 2 Honesty is the worst b***h pt.2 “If someone made you believe You've reached all you can be So much that you can't see that I see You can't take the light from the sun You can't take the waves from the ocean You can't take the wind from the trees No you can't take the love out of me yeah No matter what they do No matter what they say No matter how they try No matter which way No matter what they do You can't take it from me No matter what they say You can't take it from me No matter how they try You can't take it from me No matter which way Can't take it from me Yeah No no no Come on and” It was the Christmas eve and god know how long it has been since reeve and Jim came together to celebrate it in one place. Thy last time they can ever remember was in their teen days. They use to celebrate it with their uncle, sneakily adding alcohol in their drinks and sleeping for hours in the influence. But this time it was different, they don’t have their uncle with them nor they are at his place, eating and drinking. They no more have to sneak alcohol in their drinks, they can get it themselves now. Today, after almost a month reeve and Jim went out to have some fun in the name of celebration. Reeve literally dragged his little brother out to the more popular bar of the town. The music was on, and the vibe was great, although the music wasn’t quite to reeve’s taste, the vibe was up to the bar of his enthusiasm. He was dancing with the rhythm, his body free to move in the air. His moves were although a bit funny but it looked cool and natural. Reeve was on the dance floor with a girl, blond, flaunting a black dress, dancing beautifully, maybe she was drunk. Reeve every now and then would go close to her and try his famous flirting deal with her, but the girl was too in his world that she doesn’t seemed like she cared about it a single bit. While reeve was all in his dancing gear, Jim was juts sitting on the drinks counter alone, but not so alone as he was sipping on a delicious glass on whiskey. When a girl suddenly sat beside him and tried starting small talk. Unaffected from the sexy flirting by that sexy girl he excused himself when he saw his brother getting off the dance floor. “so, did you get her number?” reeve said to Jim, pointing in the direction of the sexy, flirting lady with his eyes. “you really think I was there to ask her number?” Jim asked in disbelief. “no, but I saw you two were flirting. Doesn’t that mean you are interested in her, she looked at you full of lust if you may not know. And she is damn hot, it is a sin to just let her go, see she is still looking at you, with her smoky hot eyes.” Reeve said teasingly, he was in a happy and cheery mood. “not me, but she was flirting with me. and I am not interested in her.” Jim replied in a duh tone, still holding the whiskey. “ya ya I know, true love and all. Dude live a little, at least until your little fantasy is realized, you might get old and wrinkly by then. We are young and gorgeous, do some damage so the world can remember us. And girls deserve guys like us, just treat them nice.” Reeve again tried convincing his brother, kick starting his s*x life, if not love life. “what damage did you do with that girl?” Jim said with his eyes on the dance floor, not at the dance floor but at the girl on the dance floor, swaying her sexy dance moves. “there is something wrong with her.” Reeve replied plainly. “what?” Jim asked, unsure what his brother said. “she didn’t ask my number.” Of course, the great lady killer, the love of every girl, lost in flirting with a girl and for the first time in life he couldn’t get a girl’s phone number, poor reeve. Jim was still watching the girl dancing on the floor, unaware of who was watching her sexy moves kind of hard for people to move their eyes from her moves. She was smoking and graceful. A deadly combe of two rare qualities. “I think I know why, look there. She is married and that is her husband.” Jim said looking at her as she left the dance floor and sat beside a man on the couch. Jim saw the shining crystal on her ring finger as he holds the guys hands. “she is married? How do you know that?” reeve asked in disbelief. “dude she has a ring in her finger, see...” Jim said and they both looked at her direction. Her ring was so reflecting that even someone standing at a mile can see her flaunting her rings “whatever, I wasted my minutes of this beautiful evening on her.” It’s true, it’s easy to despise what you cannot get. “see that bartender she is eyeing all over you. Go and ask her out after work. The year is at the end, have some fun. Maybe Santa will grant your wish and you’ll fall for her. It’s a day full of wishes, maybe yours’ll be granted.” Reeve said motivating his brother. “dude, I'm fine.” Jim still resisted. “no, you’re not. Go and ask her out.” Reeve was doing his best too, for his brother. “okay okay, don’t push me. I’ll go.” Finally, after long resistance Jim agreed on him. “good boy. Good luck.” - - - - - - - - - - - “hey handsome, I've been watching you from a far. Is that guy you boyfriend?” the girl asked, the bartender, she had black hair, and was looking kind of hot in the bar’s uniform; the orange crop top and white mid-thigh skirt. “actually, he is my brother.” Jim replied, kinda awkward. “oh, your brother. I'm sorry my bad. hope you don’t mind.” The girl apologized. “by the way, I am Nikita.” She introduced herself. “I am Jim, how much work you have left?” Jim finally said it, uh thank god. He couldn’t have said it to a girl, but thanks to that whiskey earlier, he finally said it. “you know what, I will be done in just ten minutes, wanna grab a bite with me after?” the girl asked confidently, more than Jim at least. “will you brother be okay with that; I don’t want to spoil your bro time.” “no sure, he is gonna hook up with someone either way. And if I am with him, he will keep bugging me to hook up with someone too.” Jim told her. “you must be the little brother then.” She made a quite confident guess. “how do you know?” Jim asked her back. “only older siblings can order around the little ones like you brother.” She reasoned and again said, “But you more mature than him.” “wow, I hear that often from the ones we don’t know.” Jim replied. “do you?” the girl added, they were now on the flirting stage, talking casually, showing their pearly teeth. “yeah, ever since I got taller than him.” Jim commented, also smiling. “there is a restaurant nearby. Wanna go there?” Jim asked her. “of course, I’ll come. You seem like a nice guy. It’ll be good to have a chat with you. And I am totally a loner today.” Jim smiled as she pouted cutely, while complaining. “I’ll be back in a minute.” She said to which Jim just nodded. Then she went inside a room, maybe to get changed. Soon in maybe around two minutes, she was out of the room, wearing more warmer clothes now. Thy walked out of the bar and started walking on the road. “so, tell me something about yourself or your brother, you two seemed close.” The girl asked. “okay, after I graduated from college, me and my brother is now on kind of a road trip.” He said minus the hunting and monster killing part. “cool, it sounds fun.” The girl commented. “I wish I could do this with my sister before she moved out.” She again said. “where did she moved to?” Jim asked trying to be more interested and attentive in her. “she got married and moved with her husband in Minnesota,” she told him. “that’s not too far. You can drive to her, if you want to meet her.” Jim said. “she is settling in her new job and new town; I will only disturb her that way.” The girl said. “what else do you do other than thinking about what you couldn’t experience with your sister?” Jim asked her. “I am a psychology student.” She answered him. “well, that explains the younger sibling part.” Jim said. “yeah well, I notice such details.” She spoke. “that’s a good thing.” Suddenly her phone started ringing, it was her sister’s number, she got excited and picked the call up. “hey Stacy merry Christmas, how are you?” the said on the phone, filled with excite but her tone suddenly changed to a more shocked one in just few seconds when she suddenly said out, “what? What did you do? Okay I’ll be there.” She said disconnecting the call. “I'm sorry Jim, but I think I gotta go.” She told to Jim. “why what happened?” Jim asked a bit baffled. “my sister, she said she is in the custody for murder charges. She killed someone. I have to go.” She said in urgency. “wait I’ll go with you, let me call my brother.” Jim said dialling his brother phone, “hello reeve, I think we got to go.”
