Valora’s POV Humans are petty. They are weak and ignorant, Stubborn and fearful. Meek and submissive. They are all these things because their brains are little and easy to manipulate. They are weak prey to us supernaturals and don’t even know it. Making hierarchy between themselves and claiming a power they believe they have which is absolutely useless.... Well in this case it will help me so I am grateful for their stupid systems and mindsets. It almost makes me happy imagining how they will cower at the sight of me. I know they will be able to feel my presence. Audrey has had to rest. The poor girl was broken and stupid enough to seek me.  Her stupidity was in my favor though. I almost almost like her better than them. Of course I am using her body so it’s the least I can do. Literally. I honestly don’t care about what happened to her. It was such a sob story and all that but it honestly didn’t interest me. It wasn’t why I wanted to make them suffer.  No... I wanted them to suffer because of my own reasons. Reasons known to only me. Audrey’s story just gives me the more push I need and helps me camouflage nicely. The walk from the woods is slightly long but sweet. I sigh at the feeling of freedom and breathe in the crisp air. Oh the blessing of air. Who would’ve thought being in a stone could be so frustrating?? By the time I spot the road it’s already morning and light. I steadily make my way toward the city. A cobblestone road snakes around a bend before the city comes in sight. It so full of color and so loud that I hear it from here. My bare feet scrapes against the stone and I almost want to just kill her for not wearing shoes. Who doesn’t wear shoes into the forest?? The closer I get to the city the louder it becomes and the more excited I am. Humans.... a lot of them to prey on and watch die..... like my own personal banquet. Two huge black gates shut the rest of the world off from the city. I am stopped by a scrawny guard.  He sniffs through his hook nose at me and goes to rub his mustache as if it were a dog. “Well if it isn’t the run away princess....” I tilt my head and give him a bone chilling smile. Who am I kidding, all my smiles are bone chilling. “Is it your job to question royalty as well as look like a scrawny teenager?” His eyes widen and he shivers. “What the hell-” I push past him and enter the city. His mustache was a beautiful silver color and I reckon it will look good on gloves....... I wander into a market square and at first the people don’t seem to notice me. I watch them carefully. Human women running about and holding baskets of bread and laundry. Men talking with each other, a dozen holding mugs of ale this early..... I see people who have hurt Audrey. People who have ridiculed her even if she is royalty and they are just scum under her feet. Our feet. She slightly whimpers from the corner of my mind. I can taste her hurt and sadness... her fear. Now, is it so bad that I want to see them suffer? That I want to see them have no other option but now.... to be scared of going to bed and waking up.... to dread their very existence. Finally as if by magic, one person notices me. She gasps loudly and nudges at another woman. “Look!!” Just like a herd of cows that seem to follow each other senselessly, they all start gathering around. Making walls beside me as I move. They can sense it I’m sure. They can sense that her essence is not the same. They just don’t know why yet.... it would be lovely to show them why. As I walk steadily through the gaping crowd, a brave and stupid young man decides to intercept. He steps in front of me with a look of defiance and disgust in his green eyes. His brown hair is slicked back with sweat and he looks nothing more than a stable boy. Of course I’ve been expecting someone to stand out and do something according to Aubrey’s memories, but this was sooner than I imagined. All the better. I imagined how his brown hair would look on a pair of boots after being dipped into a witches spell to last forever. Gorgeous...... His lips pull into sneer at me and he turns to look at the people. “Why are you all staring at her like that?! First time seeing a disgrace?!” I almost smile at his comical stupidity. The people seem to get courage from his words and even start to sneer and murmur insults. ‘Well of course she is much worse than a disgrace’ ‘I heard she ran off like that right in the middle of the ball’ ‘Such a shame for the King and Queen’ ‘Olivia will be pleased to see her either way... she always was the sweet sister’ ‘Scum! That’s what she is!!’ ‘Bastard!!’ I have to force my lips from pulling into a smile. ‘Isn’t it fitting that she would run. That’s what she always does.’ ‘She’s so stupid it actually hurts my brain.’ ‘I reckon the prince will weep when he realizes she’s his sister in law.....’ ‘Olivia was broken when she left!! How can you even love someone like her?!’ ‘I heard she can’t even speak well. What a waste of royal blood.’ “Take that you bastard!!” Someone suddenly yells and without looking I know a fruit if flying my way. I have quite a quick temper but I’ve kept it at bay till now. No one disrespects me like this. When it is just centimeters from my face I casually raise my hand and catch it. The gasps of silence are audible and I can smell their shock, confusion and fear. I slowly let my lips drag into a smile. The ice in the air is tastable. A couple of people flinch and step back. Mothers suddenly clutching to their children, Fathers trying to keep on a straight face while their knees shake. “Do refrain from throwing fruits at me next time.” With that I swiftly turn and send the apple hustling towards the guilty party. A boy of probably fourteen. The apple actually goes embeds itself his head as I plan. Everyone watches in schooled silence as bold slowly drips from his head onto his nose and eyes... and then he collapses. People are frozen. Wondering what to do. Help the already dead boy or stay down and be safe. A little girl with a hair full of beautiful golden hair looks up at me with brown eyes full of fear. “Who are you?” I smile and she whimpers. Her mother pulls her closer and trembles. “You will all find out at my coronation ball this Friday.” With that I made my way to the palace using Audrey’s memories.
