BAILEY
I wake from the best sleep that I’ve had in a long time. Well, since I moved here actually. I still dreamt of the wolf, but I was restless, and it was more of a calming dream. I wasn’t scared or agitated. I was relaxed and I felt safe.
I am embarrassed when I think about last night though. I went on an amazing date with Nero and it could have ended amazingly but instead I made a fool of myself and had to be put to bed. What must Nero think of me?
He was great though. Nero looked after me and didn’t make me feel like I was spoiling his night. He carried me to my bed and even locked the door behind him last night. When went downstairs for my morning coffee I noticed that he had posted my front door keys back through my letter box. It was sweet and made me smile when I noticed them.
Whilst I was sipping my hot coffee, I couldn’t help but think it was crappy timing! We were in the moment, and I believe we were about to kiss. It would have been our first and could have led to many more. I bite down on my bottom lip when my imagination runs wild with what scenarios could have played out last night. Instead, I was carried to bed like a child and left alone.
I wince when I think of the pain that I was in. It was excruciating and I felt like my head could have exploded. I wish that I could have ignored the pain and spent the night kissing and perhaps fooling around with Nero. A weird rumbling erupts from my stomach. What was that? Am I hungry?
I am thankful that he took care of me and made sure that I was ok. That’s sexy on a whole different level. Nero’s even been sending me messages all day long. Firstly it was to check in on me but now we’re talking about anything and everything. Just now I’m replying back to his message on which is my favourite holiday season and without even thinking about it I reply, CHRISTMAS!!!!
I smile to myself, maybe we will have another chance to have our kiss.

Later in the day, I’m lying on the sofa watching a series on Netflix when there’s a knock on my front door. I don’t know many here, so there’s only so many people it could be. As I stand and make my way to the door, I think about it potentially being Nero and butterflies appear in my stomach.
When I open my front door, I can’t help the huge smile that appears when I see it is in fact Nero.
“What are you doing here?” I laugh, feeling self-conscious that I look like utter crap. I have zero make up on and I’m just lounging around in my soft fleece pyjamas. Nothing sexy, just casual bottoms and shirt.
Nero holds up a bag and I see it has his restaurant name on it. “Thought you would want something to eat.”
“You didn’t have to.” Nero enters my home, looking like a giant once again as he makes himself at home. I close the door behind me as Nero walks into the kitchen and I hear him taking out the plates from the cupboard.
“Feeding me two nights in a row.” I laugh as I join him, watching as he plates up the food. “People are going to talk.”
Nero smirks. “I hope they do.”
I don’t know what to say to that, so I stand and smile. Nero dishes out two plates of delicious looking food while I get out one of the beers, he enjoyed last night, and I pour myself a glass of lemonade. Nero looks at my glass in question. “Just in case I get another headache.” I shrug.
We walk over to the table and take our seats. The food smells amazing and my mouth waters. I’ve just realised that I’ve not had a lot to eat today and my stomach rumbles. I grab onto my belly and laugh.
“Seems like I’m right on time.” Nero winks.
The crispy fries are too tempting, and I take a bite. Moaning from the tasty carbs, I close my eyes in pure joy. When I open my eyes again, I see Nero staring at me with wide eyes. I suddenly realised I was moaning out loud and how that could have sound.
“Sorry.” I blush, looking down at my plate.
“No.” Nero shakes his head, still looking at me with a hungry expression, only I don’t think he’s hungry for the food. “The sounds of a woman’s pleasure is my favourite sound, whether it’s from s*x or food doesn’t matter.”
My mouth hangs open in shock and I feel my cheeks burning from embarrassment. “Oh god.”
He reaches out and places his hand over mine. “Don’t be embarrassed, it’s cool.” I breathe out a sigh. “Hot as hell though.”
I start to laugh and Nero joins in. “Thanks for the food.”
“It’s fine, I just wanted to drop by and check on you. Make sure you’re eating.” He shrugs like it’s nothing but to me, it’s everything.
Messaging me wasn’t enough for him so Nero had to come and see for himself. What woman doesn’t want that? I know I do.
“Your head still painful?” He asks me.
“A little.” I admit and when he frowns, I add. “Not as bad as earlier.” Nero nods and we continue our food. “This tastes really good.”
He smiles smugly. “Told you, my places are the best.”
I eat a little more and I just can’t help but wonder where Nero came from. I’ve never experienced this before, having someone care for me like this. I’ve never had someone pop over to check in on me and make sure that I’m ok. This is all new, but I have to say, it feels nice.
NERO
Bailey is telling me that’s ok but I can feel her wolf, she’s not doing as good as she’s trying to make out. I see the slight wince when something is too loud, her head still feels bad. It just makes me realise that what I’m about to do is the right thing. She’s going to hate me but I’m not about to watch her kill herself.
I don’t care that the elders have finally decided that this is the right decision, this was my plan for when she first moved here. Even if Rosa had told me that they didn’t like the sound of bringing Bailey back to my place and keeping her there against her wishes, I would have done it anyway.
This is for her safety and one day, Bailey will see that too. She’s my mate, so this is my choice.
My plan is to feed her and spend some time here, alone with her and eventually she will pass out from the sedative I put in her food. It’s from Rosa because a normal sleeping pill won’t work with werewolves.
In my care, I will teach her about who she is and I’ll help her find and connect with her wolf. She can meet everyone in the compound and get to know everyone just like her.
Living on the compound, she’ll be safe and secure. While she discovers this new world, she’ll be free to explore her new self without the danger of running into humans.
At the minute, Bailey lives on the edge of the compound. She’s a safe distance from us until she knows who she is. I didn’t want her seeing a wolf strolling around and freak out. There’s a thing of too much too soon but now, we’re running out of time.
Besides, the plan is for her to live with me. When Bailey knows who she is and we’re mated and had our ceremonies completed, we won’t be able to keep our hands off of each other and I can’t f*****g wait.
