Kenzo rubbed his cheeks, which felt a little hot from Rialta's slap. He took a breath and then let it out. The man looked at Rialta with a cold gaze. "I had good intentions to help you, but you slapped me instead? I should have thrown you into the sea!" Rialta was surprised by Kenzo's attitude. As unlike in the office where he was obedient, Kenzo could speak harshly to her.
With a quick movement, Kenzo picked Rialta up and dropped her roughly on the temporary shelter. Rialta groaned in pain and looked at Kenzo with an unfriendly expression. "You can't be gentle with me?"
Kenzo chose to ignore Rialta's question. He threw a few extra branches into the campfire to keep the flames from dying out. Rialta also remained silent.
Suddenly Kenzo felt something in his other pants pocket. He quickly picked it up, and it turned out to be his smartphone. His hand moved to turn on the latest smartphone. He bought the smartphone after saving up half of his salary every month.
"I hope it turns on," Kenzo thought hopefully.
Kenzo let out a disappointed sigh. "If my smartphone won't turn on. How can I call for help?" he thought, desperately.
Kenzo frowned and glared at Rialta, who automatically pressed her cold body against his. "You're a strange girl! Now you're the one approaching me?" he taunted.
Rialta turned her face away. "I'm cold. What's wrong with that?"
The girl's fragile and weak voice made Kenzo feel a little sorry for her, so he let her cling to his body.
"Do you think we were the only ones who survived the crash?" Rialta asked.
Kenzo shook his head slowly. "I don't know for sure. I just saw you stranded."
"If it's just the two of us, and everyone else is dead. How can we get back?" Rialta asked again. The look on her face was one of anxiety and worry. Droplets of clear liquid began to flow back down her cheeks.
"Don't worry, Rialta. I'm sure the news of the crash will definitely reach the airport. I'm sure help will come." Kenzo said in a confident tone.
"What if help doesn't come?" asked an unconvinced Rialta.
"It will come. We just have to survive," Kenzo replied.
Their destination was Hawaii. Their journey started from Finland, where they lived. Kenzo looked around the island, which was covered in tropical rainforests that usually only existed in areas close to the equator.
If only my smartphone was on, I would have known where we were by now, Kenzo thought.
Rialta, who was beside Kenzo, didn't seem too worried. She stopped crying. A few moments later, the girl held her flat stomach. A rumbling sound was clearly heard, which made Kenzo laugh amusedly.
"Don't laugh at me!" warned Rialta. Her face flushed with embarrassment.
"Do you have any food I can eat?" asked Rialta as she looked at Kenzo, who was no longer laughing.
"There's nothing to eat," replied Kenzo.
Rialta then pointed to a small clam shell that was scattered near the makeshift tent. "What's that? You ate it yourself without leaving any for me? You're so stingy!"
"Oh, those are the shells I ate earlier," Kenzo replied casually.
"But don't worry, once the rain stops, I'll look for edible sea animals," Kenzo continued.
"You have to find a lot of food sources. If not, you'll be hungry by midnight," Rialta ordered. Her habit of being in the office is still carried over to here.
"I knew it. You just calm down!" After saying that, Kenzo chose to take a short break and closed his eyes.
The sun is slowly sinking, replaced by the moon. The firewood was also almost consumed by the fire. Kenzo looked up at the sky, and it just so happened that the rain had stopped. The man hurried out of the shelter and walked towards the beach. The tide should have receded by now, which would make it easier for Kenzo to find sea animals.
Kenzo's sudden departure made Rialta scream. "Kenzo, don't leave me! I'm scared to be alone!"
"You just wait there! I'm going to look for food," Kenzo said, then focused on finding sea animals in the sand by digging them up with his bare hands. He caught quite a lot, more than the first time. He even caught a jumbo-sized octopus hiding in the sand. He put all the results of his hunt into a container that he accidentally found.
Kenzo's eyes accidentally caught sight of objects floating in the sea. The objects were in the shape of a grid. Kenzo suspected that they were most likely the suitcases of his coworkers that had drifted away.
Kenzo handed over his catch to Rialta quickly, then walked towards the sea. He swam into the sea, the cold sea water immediately greeted his skin. He immediately secured the suitcases. To prevent the suitcases from being carried away by the waves, he used the clothes he was wearing as a kind of rope to tie the suitcases.
As Kenzo swam back to shore, he returned to the shelter with a happy face. Hoping that the contents of the suitcases were food, drink, and clothes that could save their lives.
Rialta looked curiously at the suitcases Kenzo was carrying. With excitement, Kenzo opened one of the suitcases. And he was right. It contained edible food such as dried fruit, wafers, instant rice, chips, and milk and mineral water.
"There are a lot of wet clothes in this suitcase." Rialta helped open the other suitcases.
Kenzo and Rialta's relationship had gotten better over the years. The two of them worked together, Kenzo drying the wet clothes while Rialta cooked Kenzo's catch.
The food and drinks that Kenzo got were stored in the shelter. They had to save their food and drink supplies for the next few days. The other items were also neatly organized.
Kenzo looked at Rialta, who was busy cleaning and cutting octopus. It was a rare sight, because what? Rialta, who came from a wealthy family that probably never cooked in the kitchen, was now cooking.
She's as beautiful as people say, Kenzo thought to himself without realizing he was complimenting Rialta.
"I know, I'm beautiful," Rialta said confidently. She handed him a bowl of seafood that was still hot.
Kenzo didn't answer, instead he enjoyed eating Rialta's grilled octopus while blowing on it to cool down. "It's not bad, not too bad," he commented.
"Don't think I've never cooked in the kitchen," Rialta replied, a little offended while eating her scallop meat.
"Why do I find that so impossible?" said Kenzo incredulously.
"Why are you so annoying?" Rialta gave Kenzo an annoyed look. In her house, although she rarely had time to cook in the kitchen, she still took the time to cook the food she wanted occasionally. Kenzo chose not to answer.
I need to find more food sources. There must be a lot of fish in this sea, Kenzo mused.
But I need a net to catch fish. Where can I get one? Kenzo looked at his own beach shorts. Kenzo suddenly stood up and then unceremoniously took off his beach shorts.
"Kenzo, what are you doing? Don't you have any shame?" shouted a surprised Rialta. The girl's face was scared.
