John and Irene Coates were in shock. They sat on the lounge with Todd, Liam, James and Will standing around the room.
“I just, I” John began, his head in his hands.
Irene rubbed his back soothingly.
“They said it was an electrical fault. I check everything. I’m a fire fighter for goodness sake” He said looking at Todd.
“And a damn fine one John. From what they’ve said it wasn’t your fault”, Todd replied.
“What am I supposed to do now? Our closest family is 5 hrs away. I cant work, Sweet Pea would have to change schools……”
“Absolutely not, you’ll stay here. I can move over to the boys house while we get you sorted”, Todd looked at Liam, Will and James who nodded.
