Sutton hadn’t returned for several years, and during this time, Betty Chapman and the house servants almost forgot her existence. Now, Gina Sutton had already met the Walyons, and was just waiting for Adrian Walyon’s approval to step through the Walyon Family’s doorstep. At such a critical moment, how could Summer Sutton come back? Betty Chapman was well aware that Summer Sutton’s appearance was actually above Gina Sutton’s. The main thing was that those eyes were too lively, as if they could capture people’s hearts. The Walyons had now seen Gina Sutton because they didn’t know that Summer Sutton existed. Without Summer Sutton, Gina Sutton marrying into the Walyon Family was a certainty. But with her presence, things weren’t so certain. Anyway, Betty Chapman absolutely refused to let Summer Sutton threaten Gina Sutton’s happiness! With hands on her hips, she refused Summer Sutton entrance, sarcastically taunting, "You might as well leave! The Sutton Family isn’t what it used to be. These years, it’s been your uncle supporting this family. It has nothing to do with you anymore." As if fearing something, she spoke with the intent of driving Summer Sutton out of the house. Summer Sutton didn’t miss the look in her eyes and grasped her wrist tightly, "Did your family do something shameful? Is that why you’re so afraid of me appearing in your lives?" Exposed, Betty Chapman’s face turned slightly pale, but she tried to maintain her composure, "Hah, it’s ridiculous. You should take a good look at yourself. Can a little girl like you really affect our whole family?" Her words were sharp and cutting, yet the logic seemed sound. Indeed, how could she affect them? Summer Sutton thought she might be overthinking. "By the way, yesterday Gina called me." Fixing her gaze up and down Summer Sutton, Betty Chapman continued her sarcasm. "Gina said, you sold yourself to some man, having someone to take care of you in every aspect of life! Summer Sutton, you’re still a student, only nineteen, about the same age as Gina. How could you not understand how to keep yourself clean? Doing such things outside, how dare you come back? If this gets out, the Sutton Family can’t afford this embarrassment! You’d better leave and never come back. Don’t ever say you have anything to do with our family!" Her disdain for Summer Sutton was evident, pushing her several times. Summer Sutton stumbled as she was pushed out of the Sutton Family mansion, standing stiffly by the roadside, her mind somewhat blank. This was once her home! It was where she lived for over ten years, where all her joy and memories were. She used to be the princess cherished by everyone in this home. But now, with her father and grandfather gone, everything changed... In this world, there was only her left now... Her father’s company was occupied by others, yet she was powerless. As Summer Sutton thought this, her nose tingled, and her eyes suddenly turned wet. After her grandfather passed away, she had been living alone for years, yet this moment was the first time she felt such unprecedented helplessness and loneliness. Sitting alone not far from the Walyon Family gate, she didn’t know how long had passed until a car suddenly stopped in front of her. In the glare of strong lights, a tall figure pushed open the car door and walked directly toward her. Summer Sutton stared blankly at the man who suddenly appeared before her, so shocked she forgot to react. Adrian Walyon approached her without asking anything, bent down, picked her up from the ground, and walked towards his car, "It’s late, and the ground is cold!" His voice was still as cool as before, like night mist, carrying a faint chill. But on such a night as this, Summer Sutton felt a hint of warmth... Summer Sutton hadn’t eaten all day, and after sitting outside the Sutton Family’s gate for so long, she was both tired and hungry at this moment. Letting Adrian Walyon hold her, she behaved very obediently in his arms. Adrian Walyon put her in the car, untied his coat, and casually draped it over her shoulders. Summer Sutton felt a bit warmer, lifted her face and asked him, "Why are you here?" Adrian Walyon got into the car with her, the heavy SUV slowly started, "I said, when I come home, I hope to see you." She didn’t take the initiative to let him see her, so he came on his own. "I was just..." Summer Sutton wanted to explain, but Adrian Walyon interrupted her, "Don’t come back to this place again in the future." Actually, without him saying it, Summer Sutton had already considered this herself. Betty Chapman wasn’t wrong; neither her father nor grandfather were here anymore, so what was she doing coming back here? A place without family isn’t called home anymore... Summer Sutton agreed with Adrian Walyon’s words, but didn’t expect him to follow up with another sentence, "From today on, remember you are part of the Walyon Family!" "I haven’t decided whether to marry yet!" Summer Sutton lifted her face, eager to argue. "Isn’t it inevitable?" Adrian Walyon chuckled, looking at her somewhat disdainfully. Summer Sutton rolled her eyes at him. The car continued its journey through the night, and Adrian Walyon didn’t drive straight back to Northtown but took her to a restaurant instead. He took her inside, leisurely opened the menu, and ordered a dozen dishes. He must have guessed she was hungry, because he ordered an unusually large amount, all of it seafood. Summer Sutton didn’t maintain her image in front of him, as she intended to bury her head and devour the food when it arrived. Before swallowing a mouthful of food, Adrian Walyon suddenly said, "Eat more, there’s room to grow." His gaze was directly fixed on her chest. It was self-explanatory. Summer Sutton’s face turned bright red, embarrassed enough to want to slap him to death. Adrian Walyon must have eaten already, as he didn’t touch the food but instead served her some. Ads by Pubfuture Summer Sutton ate while quietly observing him. She still didn’t know what Adrian Walyon’s status was, as they’d only known each other for two days. But frankly, he was really not bad to her. Just like today, when he appeared while she was in such a sorry state, which she hadn’t expected at all. Adrian Walyon’s gaze met hers, seeing her inquisitive look, found her particularly amusing at this moment. This woman was exceedingly naive; did she know how many women would break their heads trying to marry the man sitting in front of her? The dinner passed just like that under Summer Sutton’s scrutinizing gaze. Afterward, Adrian Walyon still didn’t drive straight back to Northtown but rather checked into a hotel nearby in River City. "One room." Adrian Walyon handed his ID to the front desk clerk. Before the check-in procedure began, Summer Sutton’s voice rang out, "Two rooms!" Adrian Walyon frowned, his face expressionless, "One room!" "Two rooms!" Summer Sutton insisted strongly. She definitely didn’t want to sleep with him. The clerk smartly opened one room for Adrian Walyon first. Before the other room could be prepared, Adrian Walyon lifted the reluctant Summer Sutton at the service desk and carried her towards the elevator. "Adrian Walyon, we’re not married yet!" Summer Sutton reminded him.
