Adrian coldly retracted his gaze and stepped away.
The car trudged slowly along the road, and for the rest of the journey, Summer Sutton behaved much more compliantly, not even daring to look at Adrian.
Her eyes fell on the scenery outside the window, watching the unfamiliar streets as she speculated in silence about Adrian's reasons for taking her.
This man was evidently not an ordinary person, acting so audaciously without fear of any threats she could muster, a background that ran deep and unknown.
Summer Sutton was just a student who hadn't even graduated from college, having only been in this city for two years without knowing any significant figures here, let alone having the chance to get involved with one.
Why would someone like him target her?
Summer simply couldn't figure it out.
Was it for money?
She was nothing but a penniless student, with nothing valuable to take.
Was it for some other reason?
Summer unexpectedly shivered with a chill.
...
The car carrying her finally stopped at an independent villa.
When the car came to a stop, Summer stubbornly refused to get out.
Adrian stood outside the car door, looking down at her, his dark brows raised slightly.
"I won't go in with you!" Summer clung tightly to the car door, putting up a last-ditch struggle.
She initially intended to waste some time with him outside the door, hoping she could call for help if any passersby appeared.
But she didn't expect him to have no patience to bide time with her.
With a flick of his sleeve, he bent over and carried her, striding into the villa with her in his arms.
"Bastard, let go of me! I can walk by myself!" Summer struggled in his arms, trying to push him away.
The man holding her didn't even glance at her, continuing to walk straight ahead without veering his gaze.
Watching the gate move further away from her, while the garden's scenery unfolded before her eyes, Summer felt both anxious and flustered, yet couldn't think of a solution.
Adrian had already brought her into the living room.
"Watch her closely!" he said as he plopped her onto the sofa, tossing a phrase to the person beside him before stepping aside to answer a sudden phone call.
Several bodyguards stood in the living room, along with a group of servants.
With everyone under their watchful eyes, escape was impossible.
Summer sat stiffly on the sofa, her eyes darting around as she discreetly surveyed the room.
A vase was placed beside her. Summer knew a bit about such things; she had read a museum book before, and this vase was an antique several centuries old, worth at least several billion.
For a casually placed decoration to have such value, it seemed she had underestimated the man's background.
But still, why would such a man bring her here?
"What kind of position does your master hold?" Trying to get some information out of Adrian was futile, so Summer attempted to pry from the servant beside him.
"Miss Sutton can ask the young master herself!" The servant bowed his head, showing respect to her.
"Do you know me?" Summer asked in puzzlement.
The servant merely smiled and did not answer her question.
"Your young master seems to have quite the background?" Summer tried probing further.
However, what awaited her was the servant's silence once again.
Clearly, no one intended to give her the answers.
Summer had no choice but to give up.
Adrian finished his call and walked back in from the garden.
As he passed by Summer, she suddenly grabbed hold of his wrist.
Adrian slowly halted his steps.
Summer lifted her face and looked at him steadily, feeling powerless, "At the very least, you should tell me who you are?"
He had inexplicably brought her to this place, leaving her in panic for so long, yet without giving her a single explanation?
Adrian's gaze was deep and contemplative, as if he thought her words weren't incorrect.
Leaning in, his tall body inclined towards her, he introduced himself word by word, "Adrian Walyon, my name, someone who is about to become your husband!"
Boom!
Thunder rolled by!
Summer Sutton stared at him blankly, shocked to the point of forgetting to react.
Before she could regain her composure, he threw another ticking bomb at her.
"The wedding will take place soon." Adrian's handsome face was cold and stern.
Summer Sutton stood there dumbfounded, staring at him for a long time, unable to recover.
His expression was quite serious, not like he was joking with her.
He knew her name, and tonight it seemed more like he was specifically waiting for her outside the company.
But why does he want to marry her?
Staring at him in shock, Summer Sutton's mind was a bit chaotic.
"Sir, I don't know you, nor do I remember having met you. Did you perhaps get something wrong?"
"Summer Sutton, Film Academy, year two, majoring in production, height 166 cm, weight 92 pounds, eldest daughter of the Sutton Family." Adrian accurately stated her personal information.
Summer Sutton was dumbfounded again.
"If you marry me, what can you gain?" She was a bit anxious, her mind racing.
"Or is it that you have some issue, so you need to find a healthy, physically fit girl like me to increase your chances?"
She was insinuating he was impotent.
Summer Sutton had no other virtues, except for her excellent health since childhood, never having had a major illness nor even seen a shadow of minor ailments.
The living room was filled with stern coldness, Adrian's handsome face was clouded over.
Step by step, he approached her, his voice cold and deep, "Do you want to check if I have any issues, Miss Sutton? So you can rest assured."
Summer Sutton was stunned for a few seconds, then suddenly felt embarrassed.
She shrank her body to the side, creating some distance from him, "Let's talk calmly. Can you please stand a bit further away?"
Adrian just looked at her coldly, without any intention of moving.
Summer Sutton's heart skipped a beat, afraid he might be serious, and she hurriedly pushed him away and retreated several steps in panic.
Adrian gave her a cold glance.
However, with servants still in the hall, he didn't pull her back.
"Clean her up!" He turned his head slightly, speaking faintly to the maid beside him.
It seemed he was somewhat disdainful because Summer Sutton hadn't bathed today.
He tidied his clean shirt, brushing several times where Summer Sutton had leaned against his chest.
Summer Sutton's gaze drifted in his direction, catching his actions, and suddenly a thought surfaced.
If she didn't bathe, would he find her dirty and leave her alone tonight?
"Miss Sutton, please come upstairs with us!" The maid's voice sounded beside her.
Summer Sutton came back to her senses and was led upstairs by several people.
The maid took her into a very large room, decorated and arranged with a strong masculine feel.
It was obviously Adrian's room.
