Liora’s POV I stayed at the bar longer than I should have the music pressed against the room in steady waves and the lights kept shifting but I no longer felt overwhelmed by it. Instead everything felt sharper more defined as if my attention kept drifting back to one thing I was trying not to focus on. Mina was still somewhere on the dance floor. I caught glimpses of her every now and then her movements easy, her laughter bright. She blended into this place as if she belonged here. I did not. I wrapped my fingers around my glass turning it slowly, letting the cool surface anchor me. I told myself this was just a night out, nothing more, nothing complicated. I had agreed to come, and I could leave whenever I wanted. “You look like you are trying to disappear without actually moving.” J
