Liora’s POV By the time Saturday evening arrived, I already regretted agreeing to attend the banquet. I stood in front of my mirror adjusting the thin strap of my dress for what was probably the fifth time, trying to ignore the restless feeling sitting in my chest. The black dress I chose was elegant enough for the event without being too attention grabbing, but no amount of adjusting seemed to settle my nerves. Nothing about tonight felt simple.
