☕ Chapter 19 —THE COLLAR CEREMONY

322 Words
The café was closed for the evening, but the lights inside Redemption Roast glowed warm and golden. Elias had locked the doors himself, turned the sign to “Private,” and brewed a single cup of coffee — Luciano’s favorite blend, with cinnamon and cardamom. Luciano arrived just after sunset, dressed in black, his movements slow but sure. The scar on his shoulder was healing, but the weight of what they’d survived lingered in his eyes. Elias met him at the counter, holding the cup with both hands. “One last brew before everything changes.” Luciano took the cup, sipped, and smiled. “It already has.” Elias reached beneath the counter and pulled out the velvet box. The collar gleamed inside — sleek, simple, elegant. It wasn’t a symbol of ownership. It was a vow. “I’m ready,” Elias said. Luciano’s breath caught. “You’re sure?” Elias nodded. “I’ve seen your world. I’ve tasted your fire. And I choose you.” Luciano stepped forward, lifted the collar with reverence. “Then let this be our bond. Not of power. But of trust.” Elias turned, exposing his neck. Luciano fastened the collar gently, fingers lingering at the clasp. When he was done, he pressed a kiss to the back of Elias’s neck — soft, grounding. “You’re mine,” he whispered. Elias turned to face him. “And you’re mine.” They stood in silence, the café around them glowing like a sanctuary. No audience. No ceremony. Just two men, bound by choice, by survival, by love. Luciano reached for Elias’s hand. “From this moment forward, you’re not beneath me. You’re beside me.” Elias smiled. “Then let’s build something that lasts.” And as the night deepened, the collar became more than leather and silver. It became a promise — of devotion, of protection, of a future brewed in fire and sealed with trust.
