The story told here in One Core Belief is loosely based on a family that my partner Chris and I observed in their taverna on the island of Santorini. Though the characters portrayed here are, I’m sure, nothing like the real people, I thank them for the inspiration. Thanks, as always, to Chris, who heard the novel in its creation (because I read to him in the car), who offered his very useful advice, and who got as excited as I did about the creation of this story.
