Chapter 25 We Be Jammin' "Snow's coming down pretty hard, how were the roads?" asked dad. "Snow's blowing pretty hard; we did see a state truck that was ahead of us when we turned. Attention everybody," I called out, "I wish to make an announcement!" Cha'Nara and Ben sauntered into the kitchen to hear what I had to say. I steered Annie in front of me, "Annie Sullivan flew an airplane this morning." All eyes turned to Annie, who actually started to blush. "This morning, we stopped at the airport, Annie expressed a desire to fly, they gave her a flying lesson, took her up for a ride, the instructor let her actually hold the stick for a few moments, making Annie the first woman to ever fly an airplane, remember now, Annie is a woman of 1879, the fact that she actually flew in 2013 doesn't count." Annie then proceeded to tell everybody about her experience. "I'm not so sure about that," replied Deak, "Annie, how old are you?" She looked puzzled, "I'm 22, but you knew that." ""I did, but I just want to be clear, then you were born in 1857?" "Yeah, but what of it?" "Whether we're talking about you, or anyone born in 1857 would make you 46 in 1903 when the Wright Brothers first flew. Even say, using the year of 1905 when flight became more common I'm sure there were people born in that year that went up in an airplane." Annie and I started to protest, but Deak held his hands up. "I didn't mean to diminish your experience Annie, certainly among all the people we know in Deakstown, you are the first, but the important thing is…Are you going up again?" "Possibly, the flying instructor asked me to continue lessons." "Well they are rather expensive, but this is something we'll have to look into a little later on." Deak then commented on Annie's "new" look, giving her high praise for her appearance. "Annie, I've been meaning to show you something, Ben, your welcome to watch this as well. We went into the living room where my laptop was set up on a desk. Previously, I had shown Annie and Ben, how it worked, but I don't think they really understood it. "There's some video's of female Marines in Afghanistan, I wanted you to see," I went to You Tube, and brought up several videos for them to watch. "These are video's showing female Marines operating in FET teams, dealing with Afghan Women. The Afghan men don't want strange men talking to their women, so that's what we did, I wasn't a part of these teams, but I knew a couple of women who were." We watched the video's when Ben commented, "They look and dress like Indians, are those the houses they live in?" "Yes they are Ben; Afghanistan is a very poor country. Some of the mining camps that go up overnight, that you and Deak have seen, are palaces compared to a lot of villages in Afghanistan. "Those people look horrible!" commented Annie. Both Annie and Ben stare in amazement at the little video's playing on the computer screen. "I'll explain later, and give you a better idea on how this works, but for right now just watch this." I then ran a video of women undergoing basic training. "Things have certainly changed, but I don't think women should be in the army or you're Marines," commented Ben. "Actually I agree with you on a lot of things Ben, but times have changed, there are a lot of things women can do just as well as men, I'm not too keen on these FET teams, too much of a chance to get ambushed, I really fear what these Taliban would do to the women if they got hold of them." I showed them another video, then mom announced dinner. At the table, Annie and I talked more about our day, keeping the guy in the bar to ourselves. Deak spoke up, saying, "I hope things clear up by tomorrow, we've got to get into Denver to sell the gold," "They were saying on the radio it's expected to remain blizzardy through tomorrow," said dad. After dinner, I asked Deak if Cha'Nara was still grumpy after last night," "She and Ben seem to be getting along all right, they were snuggled up on the couch most of the day watching TV, and while Ben read some of those books you gave him to read. The next day we pretty much "holed up" in the house, Deak made phone calls to gold buyers, and contacted a couple antique dealers about some guns he had. Deak Picks up the Story Since the day was so crappy outside, I used the time to contact gold buyers and set up appointments. I also made arrangements with a couple antique buyers in regards to some guns I had brought back, one was a very rare Army pattern Colt I wrangled from a salesman, one of the few times I could get a firearm salesman to get hold of any custom revolvers. I also informed Emily I was selling my Sig, and getting a Colt Combat Elite .45 auto in it's place, She was happy with her P226, but I wasn't with mine, I wanted a heavy caliber. I also decided to trade in the Dodge I got from her dad, and go with a Ford 150 custom four wheel drive with four doors (more room in the back) the Ford dealer in town had one on his lot I liked, so as soon as the storm cleared, I was buying that truck, and making arrangements with the gun shop in town to trade my Sig for a Colt Combat Elite. Before I called it a day, I spotted something on a jewelry website that was just what Emily needed, It was a beautiful blue/grey metal bracelet with a wicked looking spider on it with a small chain connecting to another spider mounted on a ring, very sexy looking, and it would look very daring on a certain "Madam" I happened to know. I quickly ordered it hoping to surprise Emily with it; our "Day we met" anniversary was coming up, perfect! As I sat on the bed taking my shirt off, and getting ready for bed a tired looking wife opened the door. I smiled and stood up, holding out my arms, "C'mon here babe," "Emmm, what's this?" said Emily, perking up. "A certain husband has been rather neglectful of his lady lately." "Really?" she asked. I embraced and held her kissing her lips and neck, "Oohh! I like that" she cooed, I stepped back and said, "It seem's like all we do is "Baby-sit" no time to ourselves anymore." "Well…" I sat back down on the bed, and quietly said, "I just want to watch you undress," Emily thought for a second, then smiled, "Looking for a "private show" there Marine?" "you know it babe!" Emily kicked off her shoes, then slowly began to remove her sweatshirt, exposing her bra, slowly turning around, and "working" a pretend pole she slowly unfastened her belt. she put on a very sultry face, slowly licking her lips, continuing to perform her own "dirty dance" as she unzipped her jeans. No doubt about it, Emily still had "it" as she stepped out of her pants and reached behind her to unfasten her bra. The bra to the floor, leaving her topless, I stood up removing my jeans leaving myself in just my underwear, I spread my arms slightly Emily knew what I wanted, slowly she moved behind me, and slowly pulled my underwear down, she moved up next to me and rubbed herself against my leg, I was getting hard very quickly, I could feel her removing her panties and rubbing herself behind me, kissing my neck and brushing her hands over my chest. Slowly, she moved around until she was in front of me, we embraced and began to kiss very passionately, Emily then pulled me back a little, then the lights went out, we continued to kiss intensely as she pulled me towards the bed, she pushed me backwards onto the bed closely following, caressing and working up and down the side of my face and neck with her kisses. Soon we were engaged in making love. Later, as we lay wrapped in each other's arms Emily purred, "If this is what being "neglectful" leads to please continue, mmmmm! You're s-o-o-o delicious." Emily then proceeded to kiss and lick me, as her fingertips caressed my body, "You, know, dear wife, I've often thought of visiting the "Bad Girls" and asking for the "Madam" Emily giggled, "Sugar, the next time that thought crosses your mind, this "Madam" will be waiting," "You don't think it will scandalize" your "girls?" Emily giggled again, "My "girls" have asked me from time to time why you haven't done that very thing." This surprised me, "Really? Well, I'll just have to do something about that in the future," we both giggled, Emily then rolled on her back for "round two." In the morning Emily got up and looked out the window, "Looks like the snow has stopped, sky's still grey though," "Well we've got lot's to do today, Emily sat down on the bed, I grabbed her around her naked waist, she lay back as I kissed her neck. "What are your plans for the love birds today?" I asked. "Who? Oh you mean, Ben and Cha'Nara, I hadn't really thought about it why?" "Think it's safe to leave them here?" "Well mom's here, and dad's always in and out commented Emily. "I suppose if they're really desperate, they'll sneak out to "Pip's "unit" turn on the heat, and do what kids have always done in cars," I said matter-of-factly. Emily suddenly sat up and looked at me with a surprised expression, "You don't think!' I chuckled, "Now, Now, don't act so shocked, I'm pretty sure you found other things to do in cars beside ride in them, Owww! Deak Continues Emily and I drove into town by ourselves, leaving Annie, Ben and Cha'Nara at home watching history documentaries to bring them up to speed on what the world has been up to since 1880. We stopped at the Ford Dealer, and paid (cash) filling out all the paperwork for the new truck, as well. It was used 2010 F150 with four doors and four wheel drive, light grey in color. I traded in the Dodge as well. We were there about an hour, I then drove over to the gun shop and discussed with them transferring my new Colt, and selling the Sig. We got back to the ranch around noon, everybody came out to look at the new truck, I explained to Ben and Annie we needed something with more room, "Very cozy for Ben and me in old car sniffed Cha'Nara. "Well you two can still ride back there," I said, "But in more comfort now." We ate lunch then Ben and I loaded the gold into the truck, I had around 25 troy ounces, which hopefully would net me around forty two thousand dollars, plus some antique guns to drop off at the auction house. We made sure everyone had a change of clothes as all of us would be traveling to Denver, I was anxious to try out the new truck. Ben remarked on the interior, amazed at how comfortable it was, the rear seat area was larger, and had its own doors. Annie sat in front with us, "Well Annie, ready to see the mile-high city?" "It must look so different from when last I saw it." "Denver's changed a lot in one hundred and thirty-three years," said Emily. The state highway trucks had been busy, clearing the roads, patches of blue sky were starting to appear as we picked up speed on I-70 Ben was trying to read the newspaper, Cha'Nara was pestering him, but occasional glances in the rear view mirror indicated he wasn't putting up much of a protest. As we drove I explained to Annie all the things required to drive, "You have to know all the traffic laws, pay attention to the traffic signs, watch vehicles coming up on you from behind, vehicles on either side of you, keep track of what the other drivers are doing. I had poor Annie so confused in fifteen minutes she was starting to get upset. "Pay no attention to him Annie, he's just trying to get you upset, believe me kids learn all this stuff, if they can you can, you don't just absorb it all in one shot," said Emily. We had the radio on, and every now and then Emily would start singing along with the singer, Owl City came on and Cha'Nara started singing along, and according to Emily it was her favorite song "We always have a good time!" I suddenly I spotted a sign off to the right, "Annie, Ben check out that sign over there," I said pointing. "For the Country, For all of Us…Marines" read the sign with the flag raising on Iwo Jima. "You two are quite proud of them, aren't you?" commented Annie "Damn straight, Semper Fi!" I said. While we were talking, I didn't notice a very special song came on, Shawn Mullens with "Lullaby." "Listen up "Pip" does this sound familiar?" I turned the radio up, "Everything's Gonna be All right, Rocka-Bye, Rocka-Bye, Everything's Gonna be Allright, Rocka-Bye, Rocka-bye, Everything's Gonna be All right, Rocka-bye, Rocka-Bye" Cha'Nara got real quiet, in the mirror, I saw a sad expression on her face, she then reached over and began to hug Ben, very desperately in fact. Cha'Nara became very quiet; I almost thought she was crying, "I'm sorry Pip didn't mean to upset you!" "It is all right" a very small voice from the rear seat sniffed. As we neared Aurora, we could see large airliners landing and taking off at Denver International to our right, "How about those airplanes Annie?" I said, Annie and even Ben gasped. "The same principles of flight work as well for them as they do for that little one you flew in the other day." Annie and Ben continued to stare out the window at huge 747's coming in.
