“She’s not done,” Elira said.
Damien looked up from the security feed, shirtless and sweat-drenched from the gym, chest heaving with restrained rage. “Valencia?”
“She has footage. I saw her with a drive.”
Damien wiped a towel down his neck. “Then we take it.”
“It’s not just footage. It’s classified. My medical history. My daughter’s DNA. She has leverage.”
He crossed the room. “No one—no one—uses our daughter as leverage.”
Elira grabbed his hand, pulse pounding. “Then don’t go in hot. Don’t go in reckless.”
Damien’s eyes burned. “What if I want her scared?”
“She already is. That’s why she’s lashing out.”
“And if she moves first?”
“Then we move smarter.”
Damien’s fingers tightened around hers. “I’ll protect you. Even if I have to destroy the last piece of my past to do it.”
