On Our Own
“It is not the same for me either, Charli. Loving both of you was wonderful, but I am not as excited as I used to be.”
“I would like to try sleeping with you two, Charli and Missy, the way we were in Atlanta. I loved that,” Maddie added.
“How do you feel about this, Missy?”
“Now that we have resolved the crisis, I have realized that I am not in love with him. I care, but I acted like I was asleep when he came back to us last night because I didn’t want to be with him there, with all you in bed with us. It was different when he took me to bed just the two of us, and I feel that’s the way it should be.”
“He has been very good to us.”
“Yes, but is that a basis for romantic love?”
