Chapter 5: Something Weird

I actually don’t know the reason why but I heard them so clearly. I smiled as I felt something warm wrapping around me until I felt her gaze fixed on me. I glanced to where it was coming and there she was, standing and talking to my Dad. From there, I couldn’t hear anything anymore since I walked toward where Alwen was and she’s definitely pissed to what I just did.

“Oh please, be thankful that you’ll get to know him.” I said to her as I wrapped my arms around her shoulder.

“Eliz, she has a reason.” Zane told me while giggling that made me looked at Alwen curiously.

“Fine, I just don’t want him to be bullied here as well.” Alwen confessed to me about her worries.

“He won’t.” I assured her that for some reason I was surprised to what I just said. Good thing it didn’t show to my face.

“You can never say what the others might think. At school, he’ll be with them and they could protect him but here, I don’t know.” Alwen said in her worried tone that made me smile. She really cared for her mate.

“You’ll protect him.” I confidently said to her that made them surprised.

“Are you out of you mind, Eliz?!” Alwen was shocked that made me shrugged my shoulders while smiling.

“Well, I think that it's not always right that the guys were the only one who’ll do the protective stunt for their mates. Their partner should do the same since they were not individual anymore. They were not just simple partners but mates.” I explained as I emphasis the last word to them. It made me wonder where did I learned or heard of that.

“Guys have big egos.” Zane sighed.

“Yeah.” Alwen agreed.

“Then talk.” I told them firmly.

“Seriously, Eliz since when you became a good adviser?” Zane asked me while smirking.

“Just now?” I guessed that made us laugh but I felt something from Zane’s question that she was thinking of something else. Maybe, she’s talking to somebody else.

Well, I don’t care for that now. I’m tired and I have assignments to deal with tonight.

It’s been three weeks to start another day since those rogues came in our town where I met my protective dream girl named Scarlet Silver Longford in flesh. She’s one of them but their first day at school; it wasn’t a good one since there was a challenge from our omegas. Good thing it was already settled. We also gained new member since one of those rogues was Alwen’s mate and that’s Seth Kingston. But their day always started in such a foul mood.

“C’mon Alwen, let just stroll and talk. Please.” Seth begged to Alwen who were seriously not in a good mood as they bragged inside the kitchen.

We’re having breakfast when they came in.

“Not now. I want to hang with my besties.” Alwen irritably responded to Seth plead before she took her seat next to Zane.

“Okay…” Seth sadly said like his puppy ears went down.

The elders in the house began to chuckle on how cute they were.

“Seth, join us.” Mom invited him but he just smiled sadly.

“I’m sorry, Luna. My mate doesn’t want me here so I’m just going for a run.” Seth declined politely to my mother.

“Okay, be careful.” Mom said then Seth bowed respectfully to everyone then run off to the woods.

When Seth left, everyone was looking at Alwen but she was indeed irritated that made me giggled onto my seat. Well, from that slight giggled, I definitely earn a slapped onto my shoulder. It hurts but I know that she just doesn't know how to act around Seth, her mate.

After our weird but cute breakfast, the three of us went to the garage to get my car since we still have classes to attend to. But when I glanced to Alwen, I noticed that she was looking deeply within the woods and from that I can tell that she’s worried over Seth.

I drove the car silently that made Zane played something on my car stereo. The song of Little Mix played and it was entitled Always Be Together. Zane and I smiled as we started to sing it along since Alwen was so down. We cheered her up by singing.

We are friends for life

Hold that deep inside

Let this be a drive

To survive

And just stand, high and tall

Know that I’m right here

At first, Alwen didn’t seem like she could hear us since she was watching the woods, so quiet. But when, I glanced to Zane through the back mirror, she smiled and sings louder.

We’ll always be together, don’t you worry

I’ll always be by your side, don’t you worry

The circle will never end, just know that we’ll meet again

And we’ll always be together, forever, always

Alwen finally looked at Zane before to me. She shook her head while smiling. We know Alwen wasn’t the type of wolf who speak out her mind but whenever she was like this - down, we know. The only thing we could do was to be with her.

As we kept singing the second stanza, Alwen was smiling shyly to us like she doesn’t want us to baby her even just for this drive. But we still want to do it.

The heavens will send a message within

Straight to your heart, ohh

Alwen began to cry when we sang the bridge of the song and we know that she knew that we’re always be here with her. We’re just waiting for her to call upon us.

“Seriously, early in the morning you ruined my mascara.” Alwen complained as she wiped her tears and we just chuckled to her reaction.

Good thing I already parked the car on the same spot at the parking lot. I unbuckled my seat belt and pulled her into my arms. I knew she doesn’t like that since she was crying but I don’t care.

“Alwen, we’re here. We’ll wait till you speak up.” I assured her that made her smiled.

“Thanks and same goes with you Cous.” Alwen said as she chuckled while wiping her tears.

“No problem and let’s go so we could fix you mascara.” Zane told Alwen who immediately agreed and hopped off the car without waiting for me.

“Seriously, those two...makeup.” I sighed as I shook my head since they always leave me whenever they do their makeup. I hate doing my own makeup, so, my face always natural fresh.

Anyway, I went inside to grab my things on the locker when I felt somebody was watching me but I don’t dare to look where it might come from. I just do what I must do but guarded. When I got my things, I immediately went to my first class but the feeling of being followed was really getting into my brain. It wasn’t good since I have my math class as my first period.

“Will somebody help me ease this weirdness around me?” I plead to my mind though I knew nobody would but with a glimpse of Scarlet face really put me at ease.

But still, not the feeling that someone was following you. I hate it.

“Watch where you going, Milady.” A familiar voice pulled my wrist that made me snapped from where I’m heading - to the wall.

“T-thanks.” I stuttered before looking to the person who saved me and my heart melt.

“Are you okay, Eliz?” Scarlet asked me in her usual worried voice.

“Yes...no...maybe? I seriously don’t know.” I reply so confused since I seriously don’t know what I’m feeling.

“Okay. After class, always stay with your friends or to my gang.” Scarlet said firmly to me like she already believes to what I’m saying but the weird feeling was still there.

I felt like I was been stalked.

“Do you understand, Eliz?” Scarlet asked that made me snapped from thinking about those things and just nodded to her.

“Don’t miss a thing. Stay with your friends or mine, okay?” Scarlet repeated to me clearly.

“I will.” I replied that made her sighed before she kissed my forehead as she let me entered my first period since we’re already here.

God thing I was able to focus on the subject till it’s time to meet the others. I immediately went to my locker since I’m feeling it again. I felt that it was getting into me. I was panicking. When I reached the locker, I just dumped my things inside then the weirdness really getting heavy. I can feel the eagerness to get me from those stalker eyes from somewhere. It pissed me off but can’t do anything about it since I can’t even locate where exactly it was coming. I’m so helpless and I don't like it at all.

“DAMMIT!” I groaned loudly to my locker as my panicked was really getting too much to handle.

“Why I’m so helpless?” I thought to myself as I began to shake.

I’m having a panic attack.

“Are you okay?” somebody asked me as his rough hand touched my shoulder.

I snapped from shaking as I glared to the guy who just asked me.

“Woah! I’m harmless.” Seth said as he raised his two hands as surrender.

I tried to chuckle but I couldn’t shake the fact that I felt something really weird since this morning. It wasn’t just stalking but it was sending the weird sensation that made me felt nervous like I was put into the corner.

“Sorry...I’m…” I stuttered and I also felt cold.

“Can you walk?” Seth asked me immediately and I shook my head.

He sighed but he immediately grabbed me and carried me in bridal style. I want to complain since everyone who was passing the locker area was watching us. Well, Alwen and Zane saw that. That so great, how should I explain it to them?

Anyway, he took me to the garden next to the football field and lay me down as he panted. Seth took a seat in front of me and exactly, Alwen as well Zane came in with such worry face.

“What happened?” Zane immediately asked Seth as they both come and seat next to me.

“Panic attack.” Seth answered as he tried to control his breathing.

“She never had any panic attack.” Zane said and she’s telling the truth. I never had any of this before, just now.

“And why are you panting?” Alwen asked Seth directly.

“I have to hide her scent.” Seth answered honestly to his mate.

“Why do you have to do that?” Alwen asked with a bit of jealousy in her tone while glaring at Seth.

“Scarlet, ask me to do that if ever something happen to her.” Seth replied before meeting my eyes like he was ensuring that I was okay.

“Why?” Zane asked Seth who seems like was hiding something.

“I don’t know exactly but when Scarlet order something like this, definitely something will happen to the person she’s keeping an eye on.” Seth replied like he was choosing his words to say.

“Seth, tell her I need her now...I must say something to her.” I pleaded to Seth who looked at me in worry but he just sighed.

“Even without asking her, she knew when you need her. She’ll be here any minute or maybe a snap.” Seth assured me that exactly Scarlet appeared at the garden.

I was happy to see her but as she comes closer, she was dragging somebody with her both hands. I can also tell that she was not just pissed but mad. When she reached us, she simply threw two guys in front of us.

“Seth, call the others.” Scarlet said and he did with the use of their links.

Scarlet looked so furious even us couldn’t dare to look straight at her. She was being an Alpha. I like that about her. When the three came into the scene, Scarlet grabbed the neck of the two guys in front of us.

“Now tell us, why you were sniffing out Eliz?” Scarlet asked directly to them that made us shocked.

They didn’t answer until the three rogues with her, slowly but deeply scratching their arms like they were torturing them till they started to bleed.

“Answer me or do you want to see the rogues that you fear?” Scarlet threatened them as they whimpered to the pain they were giving them.

But the omegas were tied tongue that made Scarlet sighed as her eyes turned into very dangerous piercing icy blue eyes like it was glowing.

“Tell me, why you sniffing out my Eliz?” Scarlet used her Alpha Rogue voice that made them whimpered painfully.

“Tell me, who ordered you to make her suffer?” She continued that made the whimpering voice worst. They were in agony.

“LUCAS! HE’S THE ONE BEHIND THIS.” The first guy confessed.

“HE WANTS YOU TO SUFFER NOT ELIZ.” The second guy continued.

Their whimpering stopped immediately and the tight grip from Scarlet loosen up as well as the other three rogues. They were panting and frightened.

“Zane, tell that to your Alpha and if this goes worst, I’ll kill them.” Scarlet spilt venom that made Zane obeyed since those guys - our omegas were guilty.

“You two, tell him that if he wanted a rematch, he can ask me anytime but using Eliz was the very wrong move. Now, go.” Scarlet warned that made them nodded before living us at the garden.

Scarlet was still pissed until her gang laughed at her. She just sighed but anger was still radiating into her eyes that made me spread my opened arms to her out of the blue. She blushed as she scratched the back of her head but decided to snuggle. When her slightly relaxing around my neck, she lay down to my lap for more comfort.

“This will help, right?” I asked her that made her smiled and I can tell her tense body  starting to loosen up and relaxed even more.

“Only mate can do that.” Ally teased her brother who was not even an inch close to Alwen.

“Ally.” Seth growled at her since she knew how to tease him perfectly.

“Thank you, guys. Thanks Scarlet.” I told them that made them nodded.

“By the way, Scarlet how did you know it was them?” Zane asked curiously.

“Eliz, told me this morning about weird feeling that she was being followed. So, I took some precautions and let my wolf do its thing then I found them.” Scarlet replied like she missed something intentionally. She’s not telling the whole story.

I watched her talk to my friends and I felt so relieved that they were getting along well, aside from Seth and Alwen. They’re mates. Anyway, I touched her face that made everyone quiet.

“Scarlet, I don't want to feel helpless. I want to be strong so I could protect myself from wolves.” I started that made her sit next to me while studying me carefully.

My friends wanted to butt in but Seth and the others stopped them.

“You guys were not always with me. I don’t want to be the one who always being protected. I wanted to protect you in return.” I continued with worry smile that made Scarlet chuckled.

“You don't need to protect us. Just do what you want because you’re you.” Scarlet responded that confused me a bit.

“Just be who you are and about getting strong, you grew up with wolves so what do you expect the feedback on you.” Scarlet continued that made me more confused that made her sighed.

“I’m not training with them.” I told her that made her smiled.

“You felt something earlier that most of people do since they have sensitivity toward those things around them; like you felt the threatening feeling from somebody. In short, you can tell if the people around were a threat or not. You can read them.” Scarlet explained.

“How can I do that? I’m just a human being and I don't have any powers or whatsoever.” I asked her since I’m just an ordinary human being who happened to be with wolves like them.

“Eliz, it's not about having powers or being like us. It's about being sensitive about your surroundings. Like if you were surrounded by party goers students mostly you too. Or if you were surrounded by intelligent people mostly you do too. Or if you were surrounded and rise by wolves so does you.” Scarlet answered that made me understand a bit of what she was trying to say.

“How’s that even possible, the Alpha won’t let her trained with us?” Zane asked Scarlet but the rogues just chuckled.

 The three of us looked at them confusedly.

“It’s possible since she was raised by you.” Ally answered that really didn’t answer Zane question.

“What Ally mean is, she could adopted what you were doing. The way you think, talk, move or even the sensitivities of the wolves she could adopted them since she’s surrounded by wolves.” Seth clarified to us in more understandable way.

“Your sensitivity about your surroundings came from the sensitivities of the wolves around you. Training could help you how to use them wisely.” A girl rogue named Anthonette Malfroy said to me while she combing the hair of Ally.

“You can ask your Alpha since you’re already grown up plus it’s for your own protection.” A guy who has sleepy aura since he was always yawning each time my eyes found him and his name was Edrico Martinez.

“As if the Alpha would let her.” Alwen said in defeat.

“You could teach her.” Scarlet suggested to my friends who seriously shocked to what she just said.

“Well, it could be interesting.” she continued that made me slapped her shoulder playfully and they laughed.

But I knew that she was serious about it.
