Chapter 2: Sledgehammer Beat

Alwen and I got on our music class, there were only a few students taking the class of Professor Ross because he was a boring professor of music that I never thought I would have. Though, music should be fun and enjoying but since he was our professor, don’t expect to be like that. Good thing, I’m with Alwen in his class or else I’ll be always in the detention from ditching his class. Funny, isn’t it? That’s how boring his class was.

Anyway, inside the class there was only one grand piano at the middle of the room because our classroom was a radial type of classroom. I mean, the podium was on the very center of the room that’s why the audience or the students surrounds them. Like I said earlier, there were only few students taking his boring class that can be counted on the fingers of your hands. To make it simple, we’re only eight students here not until now. I saw the two transferred rogues entered the room. They even gave their slips on Mr. Ross and let them in.

I heard some grumpy groaned from my left that made me wonder on how pissed Alwen could be. I was about to ask her reason why she’s pissed too much about these transferees until I saw her glared at one particular guy who caught the looks from Alwen. Alwen groaned then snapped one or two pencils that she’s playing on her hands like a drumstick a while ago before they came. The look on her face was like she was having a big battle within herself. I nodded slowly then smirked.

“Is he your mate, Al~wen?” I sang whispered to her ear that made her pinched my left arm.

I shouted out of the blue when she pinched my hard from my comment. She was being teased that seriously turned the table from that pinch.

“Is there something wrong, Miss Aston?” Mr. Ross asked me when that happened.

“Nope! Nothing wrong sir, it was just a big bug bite.” I just told him while I’m easing the pain from Alwen’s pinched.

The class was about to start when someone opened the door and I heard panting voice apologizing at him. Her voice was indeed familiar that made me glanced to the front row and Mr. Ross sighed then nodded as he let the last minute interruption on his class and to my surprise it was her.

Now we’re eleven on his class.

Anyway, I was happy to see her again and she’s my classmate too. Now the music class under him won't be boring as hell. Finally.

“Okay for today’s class, I won’t give you any lecture but let’s do some random song. If I call your name, come here and sing any song that reflect to what your emotions or feelings now. So let’s start.” Mr. Ross said with his old lazy but husky voice while looking at his class records.

Some students groaned, some didn’t care but some are getting nervous because of the random roll-call. One by one was been called and performed in front that made some of us nervous that also include me.

“Okay you're up, Miss Aston.” He called me that made me froze until Alwen slapped my arms where she pinched me.

I snapped from the sudden call and stood up before I went to the aisle. Actually, I didn’t know what to sing. When I reached the podium, I looked at Alwen and she nodded that made me sighed since I really don’t know what to sing until my eyes found her. Her gaze fixed on me that made me nervous but I closed my eyes and let my whatever emotions I’m having now. My heart was beating so hard like a non-stop beating drum but it was getting harder than the usual like it’s a sledgehammer.

“Are you going to sing for us, M no iss Aston?” Mr. Ross asked me since I’m not singing but here it is.

After some thoughts of my feelings now, I’ve came with an idea that made me closed my eyes as I took a deep breath then I began on singing Sledgehammer by Fifth Harmony.

I opened my eyes and met Alwen’s eyes, she shocked because both of us loved that song plus we never dare to sing it to anyone, especially in front of strangers. I shook my head then my gaze flew to her.

Then I closed my eyes again as I felt the song itself filling me inside and the lyrics are flowing smoothly out from my mouth. I feel the melody and music of this song that made me smile like I was in love for the first time in my life.

As I opened my eyes, I found her immediately and she was smiling as well. I smiled even more while singing the song as I let my body moved as I lost from the song itself. I was moving like I own the song or let's just say that I moved at the center podium like I was having a gig or live concert.

I watched everyone in the classroom and they were enjoying it like I am even Mr Ross was having a blast. He was having fun. Everyone was having fun until I looked at Alwen who was crying out of happiness because I was singing from my heart for the first time. When I reached the bridge of the song I looked intently to one particular person who was sitting in front of the podium and she was watching me performed. She was smiling and it was genuine that made my heart melted.

When I was done singing it, everyone clapped their hands to my acapella version of the Sledgehammer. I was blushing from embarrassment but at the same time, her. I was embarrassed after that performance because I just realized that the message of the song was literally what I’m feeling toward her.

I slammed my hands onto my face when I reached my seat next to Alwen who was laughing at my shy gesture. Plus, I can feel the heat rising up on my cheeks. I was tomato right now.

“You really lost it.” Alwen teased me that made me slapped her shoulder and let the class kept going until the bell rang.

Finally, it was already our lunch break so Alwen and I went to the cafeteria to meet the other pack member. When we both got there, I saw a few of our omegas are bullying the four transferred rogues just across our table. Alwen was pissed because I can tell that the other guy was her mate and I think his name was Seth Mari Kingston. His cute guy with brunette clean cut hair and simple Shane West face figure but overall he was indeed simple guy with less muscle but I can tell he does have in secret. Well, that’s my guess anyway.

Alwen really been hurt just watching her mate been bullied like that but she never put any act over it. I sighed on how much control she does but it will snap any minute by now because she was short tempered into something like this. She hates bullies whenever it comes to the persons she care the most plus she likes to bully me in times; only me. Remembering them made me groaned because she used to bully me in front of my parents like pouring some smoothies on my clothes tripping me though I’m a bit clumsy plus she always have to trigger them. No wonder we became friends.

We took our seat next to them since we occupied the two long tables at the cafeteria and everyone knew about it. So no one dare to sit there. All the students who were inside the cafeteria just watched our omegas bullied the four transferees with the thought it was just a typical bullying. To us, it wasn’t because those transferees were rogues. I sighed then looked at the omegas who kept bullying the rogues that made Alwen snapped her spoon and fork as she saw one of the omegas smack Seth with bunched of meatball pasta on his head.

Seth released a loud growled but immediately fade when he glanced to our way and met Alwen’s glare. I shook my head then I stood up before Alwen loses her cool. I’m indeed a human but this one was too much. I went to the omegas and stopped them though I knew that I’m no matched to them but this bullying thing was a big NO. They turned and just looked at me like ‘what now’ looked written onto their faces.

“Back off, human.” One omega growled at me that made the other omega chuckled.

I hate when they do that to me even though they've all knew that I became the daughter of their Alpha. I knew that I’m not very much welcome to the pack because I’m a human plus the Alpha wasn’t my biological father to begin with but I need them to respect as a person not just some random rogue that they didn’t get along with.

“So what you’re going to do if I am? Don’t you forget that I’m not the only human here? Kindly remember where you at, omegas.” I frankly spilt venom on them though that wasn’t my intention or maybe just a bit that made them glared at me big time.

Ohh, I switch wrong button. I can feel their fury and when one of them was about to slapped me good thing Alwen immediately came to my rescue and held his hand.
