Chapter 7: Symptoms of Eliz’s Blood

As we got home, the house was a bit quiet that made me walked to my parents’ room. I took a peek and I shook my head while smiling when I saw them having sweet moment. I shut the door slowly and whispered that I’m home since I know Dad will hear them. I went to my room and suddenly I felt some heaviness on my body. I groaned as I took my clothes off and threw them somewhere in my room since I want to soak in a nice warm milk bath to relax my stressed body.

“Seriously, Scarlet gave some bugging thoughts in my head.” I sighed as I thought of what she just told me earlier.

My body was indeed relaxing even I was having some deep thought in the tub when I felt the water was getting colder. I stood up to dry and cleaned up that exactly made me yawned. I went to bed from the tiring day at school yet fun on getting to know these kinds of rogues in our school. I know that I’m happy but behind those happiness there was something seriously stuck within me. I don’t know what it was but it was there. When my eyes finally went off, I drifted into the dream realm that I never had before.

Everything was so dark and the lurking shadows began to hunt me down. They were chasing me like they want to eat me alive and when I face one of them. I saw how distorted and fearsome they were. Red eyes with sharp claws and they want to eat me. I wanted to scream out of my lungs because I was frightened but at the same time I wasn’t.

“If this dream were real, I want to fight back.” I thought to myself and then I pictured myself as a hunter.

I am a human and the only thing that could protect a human was a gun, sword or anything that can stun or kill monsters. As I was fighting them, a very huge brown wolf suddenly appeared in the middle of the fight. This wolf was twice bigger than any wolf that I saw and it was radiating with such power, authority, kindness and love but I can also feel that it can do a lot worse. I kept my eyes on the wolf that was standing still with such bravery and confidence when I noticed that it has a tattoo of moon faces on its forehead. I was cut off from my daze when I heard some whimpering howls from the monsters. They feared this wolf.

‘Changes will begin;

Abilities must learn;

Awakening is coming,

As I bless thy. Now wake up, my dear.’

As the wolf spoke those words, I suddenly felt the rush running into my veins and it was tormenting me. If felt like I was being skinned alive and it was slowly until I felt a familiar shadow touched my forehead made everything so calm and peaceful. I want to see who was behind that shadow until I felt something hit my face. I woke up.

“What the?!” I sighed while panting since that was the first time I dreamed about something that I could definitely recalled aside from the last part; the reason I woke up from dreaming.

As my mind went back to reality, I was confused to see that I was on the floor and on my right I saw my clock lying next to me. When I saw my clock, I touched my forehead out of the blue and groaned as I felt the slight pain from it.

“Jeez, how did I manage to fall out from my bed?” I asked myself since I never fell off from my bed.

I went back to my bed but when I was about to put my clock back on the side table, I groaned when I saw that it was just 3 in the morning. I snuggled myself at the bed but I couldn’t find the right position and it seriously pissed me off. I groaned as I stood up from my bed and went to my study table to read books instead but nothing happened. I was beginning to feel the frustration from it. So, I decided to close my eyes to try on clearing my mind and when it did, I went to the kitchen to cook something. I want to cook something for Scarlet.

I cooked everything I thought Scarlet would like to try. I might be guessing what she likes toward food but this was the only way I could say my gratitude. I cooked tuna carbonara pasta, fried chicken, potato salad with bacon and fresh berry juice. I didn’t know that I could make this many so I divided and left something for my family inside this house.

By around 5 am, I changed my clothes since I wanted to take some run. It’s been awhile since the last time I did that and maybe this time around, I could get used to this kind of changes. I run outside without notifying anyone in the pack but who cares only few of them really do accept me being here anyway. We’re humans but my Mother was the mate of their Alpha so they couldn’t complain to that one.

“Just thinking about that makes me want to run away from this pack but I not that strong enough to be on my own. I don’t know how to survive if I met some wolves like them out there. I want to learn and if Dad couldn’t, I will train myself by experience. I guess?” I thought to myself but it made me signed since part of me didn’t want to experience death under the hands of wolves like them.

As I kept running around the perimeter in the woods, I tried to do some acrobatic stunts as well as doing some quick movements in combat since I’ve been watching them do their training when I was a kid. Only in the middle of the night I got the opportunity to do them. Good thing I didn’t get any bruises back then. I’m so used to these woods since it was my playground and nobody knew I do something I’m not allowed to do. Training combats.

I halted when I felt some presence was lurking around and it was watching me. I closed my eyes to relax my tensed body and opened them again. I used every speed I’ve got to find where that lurking presence coming from. I suddenly jumped over the logs then landed on someone and to my surprise it was Scarlet.

“What are you doing here?” I asked her in whispered tone since everyone lives around were wolves.

“I felt you’re gonna do something reckless.” Scarlet honestly told me that made sighed as I arched my eyebrow at her.

“I’m not doing any reckless out here.” I sighed that made her smirked.

“But you’re hiding from your pack.” She chuckled as I stood up from being on her top since I jumped on her just a moment ago.

“And you’ll alarm them as you being a rogue.”  I irritably said that made her scratched the back of her head after standing up.

“Fine. Just please go back inside. Good thing, I was the one who saw you here not some other men.” She said calmly though there was pain along with her tone.

“Thanks though. See you at school, Mate.” I said as I kissed her cheeks before running back to the house in silence.

I don’t know if she went home after that since I run as fast as I can and didn’t look back. When I reach the pack house, I immediately went to the fire exit and climbed up to my balcony. I didn’t want anyone to know that I took some run all by myself. As I got back to my room, I immediately removed me sweaty clothes and dumped them to my laundry basket. I took some cooling down stretching before heading to the bathroom so I could take a shower. After some relaxing lukewarm bath, I dried and changed up before heading down stairs since I have to prepare the food I made earlier. I was packing them when a sudden slamming of the door opened up and it was the pack doctor who was rushing upstairs.

“Oh boy, is it Mom?” asked myself in worried tone that made me run to their room.

I bragged in with my panting voice.

“MOM, DAD!” I shouted that made them looked at me and my mother was in her labor.

“Good timing, come here and help me with your Mom.” Dad said with his excited and worried tone that made me rushed to do so.

“Okay, tell me what to do, Doc.” I firmly said to the doctor who was a bit hesitant since I was human plus I don’t know any medical procedures but I don’t care at all.

“Just tell me what to do.” I growled at the top of my lungs that surprised him as well my Dad.

Well, technically humans don’t growled like wolves do aside to what I just did. But my intense gaze never left him until my mother screamed out of the pain.

“We need to hurry and make this room as the delivery room.” The doctor said that made us nodded in agreement and prepared everything that need to be prepared.

My Dad was asking the doctor about the things that were needed but to me, it was seriously different. I prepared what an emergency procedure needed since the head of the baby was already coming out.

“Doc! No time to lose. They need our help now!” I shouted that made them looked at me since I was assisting my mother to calm her even just for a bit.

“Dad, stay beside Mom, now. Doc, we need to do it now.” I told them which they did.

The doctor was telling my mother to take a deep breath then push the baby out bit by bit. My Dad on the other hand was taking care of my mother as he wiped the sweat onto her forehead. My mother was pushing the baby out and the baby wasn’t that tiny but looking at the kid, it was quiet.

Something wasn’t right and the doctor slapped the cute little butt of the baby but no cries at all and nothing. My mother began to cry and my father was really in the bad shape. He was furious but he cried.

The doctor gave up but I stepped in and took the baby into my arms as I began to say something.

“You need to wake up my little brother.” I cooed even there was a tear onto my face.

“Eliz…” my mother and Dad whispered.

“He’s gone.” The doctor said but I just smiled like I don’t believe in it.

But I know he was alive and that was my guts telling me. I don't know since when I started to believe on my guts but I do now.

“Under the power of Selene bestow on me, you shall wake up little Zachary.” I said like I was chanting that made them shocked since I said the moon goddess name.

Then I suddenly felt some forest scent began to swirl around me from my feet up to where I’m carrying my little brother. He was glowing in such greenery aura with silver dust of the night then he suddenly cries. I cooed him in my arms and there, he slowly opened his eyes. I saw a brownish red pup deep his brownish green eyes that made me smile.

“You have our parents’ eyes. How cute.” I chuckled as I sat down next to my mother who was now crying with such a relief.

I gave my little brother to my mother who was happy seeing him alive and healthy. My Dad looked at me in gladness but I know behind that thankful smile, he was wondering how I did that. I sighed then kissed my mother’s forehead before we cleaned up.

Afterwards, I was about to showered up since I’m so late for school when my Dad stopped me.

“Eliz, we need to talk about what happened.” Dad told me with his firm voice.

“Okay but can I changed first?” I asked that made him smiled and kissed my cheek.

“And you can skip school.” Dad continued that made turned to him.

“I’d rather to skip morning classes than the afternoon one.” I smirked since I don’t like the second boring class of biology. I always fall asleep to that class even I like science, especially chemistry.

“Okay then, hurry up and meet me at my office, okay?” Dad said to me that made chuckled.

“Yes boss.” I said with my teasing tone before going to my room to change up once again.

On my way to my room, I suddenly felt dizzy then I heard something. It was a familiar voice.

‘How can she call upon the moon goddess power?’

“Dad?” I asked myself when I heard that thought while walking toward my room.

Well, I wanted to know as well that’s why I’m gonna talk to him as well to Scarlet about this one.
