Chapter 3: Omega Challenged Scarlet

1930 Words
“Follow, omegas.” Alwen growled that made them fall back to their seats because Alwen was a chosen beta who’s been watching me since I came in the big picture of their pack.   When me and Alwen turned our heels back to our place, I felt some strong hands pushed my back that made me lose my balance and almost hit the table on my side but it didn’t. I felt a very protective and firm body in front of me. Even I’m not meeting this person’s face, I knew it was her; Scarlet.   “You okay, Eliz?” Alwen asked me while checking me on my left side.   I nodded to her question but the body in front of me was standing still and there was a raging anger coming out from her. Scarlet turned to face me as she placed her two hands onto my shoulder. She looked deeply into my eyes then checked my body if there’s any bruises or wounds and good thing there were none. She sighed before smiling but her hands never left my shoulder like she was calming herself. But I also felt so secure with her presence around me.   “Hurting a lady was not very appropriate for a gentleman. Well, you’re not included to that line anyway.” Scarlet flatly told them but it only angers those omegas. “WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE, ROGUE!” one of them roared that seems like the guy who pushed me earlier. “That’s the thing, we’re rogues. So don’t mess with us and please, omegas choose a place where no humans will witness your stupidity.” Scarlet said calmly and smiling as she caressed my shoulder like she’s using me to calm herself.   I just mentally smiled on that sensation that made Alwen looked at that with curiosity while she’s watching how Scarlet caressed my shoulder lovingly. I shook them behind my thoughts and listen as I watched this scene.   “You’re just a mutt compared to us.” Another Omega teased Scarlet that made his gang laughed. “Maybe I’m indeed a mutt to you but I’m more knowledgeable mutt than any pathetic omegas that I’m talking to. Am I right, guys?” Scarlet asked the four rogues who were smirking to that information that made the other humans to chuckle.   Oh well, omegas are indeed pissed off now because of the reaction they’ve received from the students within the cafeteria.   “I CHALLENGE YOU TO A DUEL! UNDER THE BLUE MOON PACK NAME!” the guy who started the bullying was indeed in rage and embarrassed. “Are you sure about that?” Scarlet asked carefully like she cared for their wellbeing. “Yes. Let settle the score after classes at the pack’s territory.” the guys replied while the others are praising him. “Very well then, it’s been awhile since it happened…” Scarlet said as she recalled something from the past that made me blush. I was there.   I noticed the four rogues shook their heads to stupid decision of the omega that made me wonder why they felt sorry for him. Anyway, I sighed and looked at Zane who was my other of my friends aside from Alwen. Like Alwen, she was also assigned to watch me and since she was one of the daughters of Zack; the second beta of my Dad, she’s going to report this one. Well, this stupid challenge wasn't going to end well. I shook my head mentally but Alwen suddenly snapped me from my thoughts when she took me away from Scarlet. She looked at Alwen with thankful expression that made me pouted like a kid since I want to be next to her. She just chuckled when she saw my pouted face – that’s sort of embarrassing one. When we got back to our table, Zane patted me and smiled like she’s telling me that she already reported it to her dad that will eventually be known by everyone because of my Dad. After the intense but stupid event at the cafeteria, all the class for today were all done just like nothing happened. I stretched my arms before leaving the classroom since I have to drop some of my books at the locker and waited for Alwen. Just a second, Alwen finally came and she was in a foul mood since she was worried. I think?   “Worried about them?” I asked her after she dropped her things at her locker. “Why would I, they’re rogues.” She answered in her defensive tone that made me smirked. “Admit it. He’s your mate.” I teased her though I’m being serious about it. “Whatever.” Alwen sighed because she knew that she couldn’t escape from it.   When we reached the parking lot, we both noticed the four rogues waiting for someone. Seeing that, I turned my heels and approached them. Good thing, I saw Seth laughing along with his kind and because he was the only one I really looked familiar with.   “Seth, it’s me Eliz one of your music classmates under Mr. Ross…” I said to him as I approached him and Alwen was behind me looking pissed off. “Ohh, yeah the one who sang Sledgehammer.” Seth recalled as he smiled at me with his genuineness written onto his face that made Alwen rolled her eyes. “By the way this is Alwen…” I introduced her to Seth without her consent that made her groaned. “I know, Eliz. Don’t worry, I’m a rogue; she can reject me anytime she wanted.” Seth said with such pain within his tone that made his fellow rogues growled at Alwen.   Alwen glared at them but Seth chuckled that made Alwen blushed irritated. I smiled as I saw that.   “Anyway, what you guys doing here?” I asked Seth as I changed the topic. “Oh, we’re just waiting for our Alpha.” Seth replied as I watched the other rogue leaned on one particular black Ranger. “Rogues don’t have any Alpha.” Alwen countered that made me looked back at her in confusion. “We’re exceptional since our Alpha was different from the other.” Another rogue said with a smile on her face and she looked like Seth only girl version.   Maybe they’re related. Anyway, I was about to say something until I felt something familiar that wrapped their arms around my waist before nuzzling their nose onto my neck. Alwen and the other rogues were surprised as they saw that gesture from their Alpha which was Scarlet.   “So, milady, can you take us to your pack so we can settle the challenge that your omegas request?” Scarlet asked me in her sweet and alluring voice that really sent a shiver down to my spine.   I was blushing like a tomato again but then nodded to her question. Alwen groaned as she glared at me before hopping on the car but I just shrugged it off. I turned to face Scarlet and there I felt it again, security. Just feeling that, it made me kissed her cheeks before hopping on the driver seat and started the car. Actually, I can’t stop myself on being sweet around her like I was been pulled to her.   “What was that, Eliz?” Alwen asked me with such teasing tone. “Well, I don’t know yet but she has this pull that I can’t resist.” I honestly replied to her as I drove the car out from the school parking lot. “Just be careful.” Alwen said as she looked outside the window.   On our way, I kept driving as I glanced on Alwen who was just in her deep thought like she was hiding something from me. I just sighed before checking on side mirror to see if they can keep up with my speed. I smirked since the black Ranger was indeed trailing us perfectly until I turned left where lots of trees surrounding the two way road. After few miles, I turned right where there’s no road to trail with; just muddy soil, rocks and trees. Then after passing the dirty and bumpy road there was the small village, the pack of Blue Moon. As we reached the perimeter, everyone was been alerted and guarded because they’ve been waiting for us at the entrance gate. Some pack members were at their wolf form and escorting the two cars nearing at the house itself. We parked the car next to each other and went by the main door. Everyone was growling and glaring at the five rouges entering the pack. I sighed and about to open the main door until my Dad beat me to it.   “OH BABY! ARE YOU OKAY?! YOU’RE NOT HURT AREN’T YOU?!” Dad bombed me with worrying questions as he kept checking if there were any bruises or scars on me. And yes, he’s totally overprotective over me because I was a human.   Dad knew how dangerous wolves could be.   “Dad…I’m cool and thanks to Scarlet as well to Alwen being there with me.” I said smilingly to him that made him looked at Scarlet who was standing still by the doorway with the other rogues behind her.   He glared at her before he growled but Scarlet was just smiling – I mean smirking at him like she’s challenging him. I noticed it that’s why I stared at her and when she felt my looks, she snapped her gaze from Dad to meet mine. She just looked at me with such loving smile that made me blush from her quick smile. My Dad shook his head in disbelief when Scarlet looked at me but sighed when he noticed that I’m totally in my tomato blush again. He suddenly grinned like he loved to see my embarrassing mode.   “Tomato cheeks.” Dad teased me that made me punched his shoulder but he just laughed at me.   We all walked inside the house as I felt some protective looks from the betas from the upstairs and from the kitchen. I sighed on how defensive wolves could be in their territory.   “Come in, I heard that you’ve been challenged by one of my Omega’s, is that right?” Dad asked Scarlet who was now following him toward the open field at the backyard. “Yes, but Alpha let me warn you about something…” Scarlet said with her serious tone that made my Dad confused but guarded. “...I might hurt him worse than any fangs or claws in this challenge…” She continued as we passed the kitchen “What do you mean by that?” Dad asked her when we reached the back door. “You know what I mean.” Scarlet smiled as she kept walking toward the field.   When we arrived at the field, everyone was already there and they were glaring at the rogues. But to Scarlet and the others, it doesn’t matter at all. Scarlet and Dad went to the aisle before he called for the one particular omega who challenged her. When the omega came at the aisle with such confident that he will defeat Scarlet just like that. My Dad was confident about their fighting skills but when he looked at Scarlet, I know he noticed something around her. She’s different. Everyone was watching in circle and waiting for everything to begin while Scarlet looked so calm and collected. Meanwhile, the guy from earlier were just being an asshole as he started to stretch his body before starting the fight.   “Blue Moon Pack will be the witness of this challenge. Simple rule, fight to death. The one who remain standing will be the victory.” Dad said with his Alpha voice that made both of them agreed as they nodded.   My Dad looked at each of them like he was waiting if one of them will forfeited the challenge but knowing wolves, it’s a different story. There was no turning back if you’ve been challenged.   “FIGHT!” Dad boomed that made the others in cheer as the challenge began.   And of course, the pack was cheering over the omega but to me, it was a different story. I’m worried.
