Cold sweat broke out on Adam’s back. He’d never been afraid before, not once, but it was different now. Everything was different now. Because of Raina. Because he cared. Because if something happened to her, he wouldn’t be able to face himself in the mirror ever again.
He signaled to Lorelei, letting her know without words that she was right and they needed to go. Lorelei nodded toward the back of the house where Raina was still in the bathroom.
