Lyra's POV. "Seize her!" Lucius commanded. I was a little bit worried when I was bundled and thrown into a dungeon. This time around there was nothing I could have said that was going to repair the damage already done and honestly speaking I was beginning to feel weird Something was not just right and if I was being truthful to myself I needed to find out about what I could do to save the day Footsteps approached, and I readied myself for the judgment that was about to be pronounced on me. There was absolutely no way in hell that I was going to get out of this mess without losing my mind and that was true. "I see you have deceived us. You have decided to show how stealthy you can be." Camilla's commanding voice filled the room. I shivered in my bones because I was still not at ease with what had happened. I couldn't explain it and therefore made me a liar in the presence of everyone "How dare you think you can come in here and try to ruin everything? Do you honestly think that you can get away with it without being prosecuted?" She demanded. I knew that I was already in for some danger when she removed a whip. "I decided to take pity on you but you paid us back in wicked coins. It is time for me to take charge of the situation and delete you completely." She wasn't joking while muttering those words. I inched backwards slowly, hoping that I would be able to negotiate my way out of this, but even I knew that there was no way out. "Sorry, but not sorry, I don't think you understand the gravity of what's been happening. We have been having attacks and now you parade yourself as some lost wolf," she decided. She was the second in command around here and I understood it but what I didn't understand was the fact that she refused to believe that I was innocent "Please..." I still felt a burst of power running through me but I refused to use it because then it was going to solidify the suspicion that I was one of the people who had indeed been involved in this "He was right, I was rejected but I don't know where the power came from," I explained in the best way that I could. A few minutes later more footsteps shuffled towards me. "Release her this instant." Lucius' voice resounded throughout the hall. I shivered in fear hoping that I had not committed a crime that was going to make them have my head. "She has done nothing wrong. The only thing that she has done wrong is the fact that she refused to reveal her identity." He explained to Camila, who looked like she hated me being here. Well, newsflash, I was about to be released. . Begrudgingly, she cut off the chains from my hands and instantly started walking away. I was left with illusions in the room, my head spinning with different emotions trying to come up with a plausible reason why he was letting me go all of a sudden. As if he could hear my internal monologue he watched me carefully. "I know that you didn't do anything to me. I just wanted to see if you were going to break under torture." My jaw was probably on the floor at his comment but I steadied myself. "Amazing work of art you have there. Is there something else that I should be aware of?" I asked, gazing at the prints on the wall. "No, do you mind coming over with me to start all over?" He countered. "Uh..." "Don't say anything but yes. I'm pretty sure you already know why I'm doing all of this." If I continued widening my eyes, one of these days they would pop off. His being nice to me was weird as hell, but I was ready to take it like that because I didn't know better. "Yeah." From the way he was acting a new something was highly suspicious but I just didn't know how far it was going to go before I finally fell into the trap I took it upon myself to find something better to do with my life instead of pining over the fact that I have been rejected by my mate. "She's going to take you to the room and you are going to be protected. Training starts tomorrow." He said. "So, is this supposed to be limited to a few things or...?" I asked tentatively, not wishing to hear the answer. "No, you get full access until I say otherwise. Now, for the first part of the day, we need to start from scratch, and I mean that we need to come through everything that makes you tick." He sounded like he was really particular about finding all my answers and the things that make me who I am, which left me uncomfortable. I didn't want to be a pet project. Nobody considered me really worthy of attention except that we're getting something from me, and I needed it to change instantly. "Starting all over isn't as hard as you think." He nudged me. I took a deep breath, He was probably right but at the same time, I needed to do something else remarkable with my life. "It's a deal." Together we locked hands, and I felt a weird sensation running down my spine. If this was anything to live by, I had to do it with my eyes closed or else I was going to lose myself in this mix. He led me to a training room, filled with various equipment and weird-looking rogues. "I don't think I'm welcome here." "That's because you're not, but you can make the best out of it." Lucius' voice weighed in on my mind. I had been called a bad omen. What was my life without having to change the order of things?
