Kael's POV. Mason headed into my room with a stack of paper in his hands obviously hoping that he would be able to talk to me about a few things. The only difference between him and me was the fact that I had not been able to come up with a very deliberate way of handling this without losing my mind The amount of time that I had wasted on speaking to the council could have been replaced if I truly put my heart to it, but now I'm still a little bit worried. "Alpha, we have a problem." I hated hearing those words because it automatically put me at a disadvantage and started making me think of the worst things. "If you know that you have a problem then you can just go ahead with it." At first he didn't understand what I was talking about but later he finally nodded. "I meant that we have to be fast when it comes to choosing a bride. Luna Selene is one of the best candidates that we have and honestly speaking a lot of people do not want to give us a chance." Those words only got on my nerves even more than necessary. "If they cannot take the heat then they better get out of the kitchen instead of making a whole lot of noise about something that doesn't even make any sense." Pushing me into taking somebody that I didn't think was worth my time into my arms was an idea that I thought had already become obsolete. According to what I was listening to right now it was very obvious that it wasn't. Instead it was about how they felt without thinking about how this was going to impact my general life. "I think that some people are already pushing for the motion that you are taking out if you cannot handle the position anymore." He winced. I looked him in the eye waiting for his hilarious words. There were a lot of things that many people had already done that made me laugh, for this was one of them that took the cake and made me burst into even mirth. "Get those elders here right now." "I'm already on my way sir!" He answered quickly. Too many things had already gone wrong and I was trying to figure out what exactly I could have done to make things better but at the same time I was still wondering about how long it was going to take for me to be able to finally bring this to order. ***** The elders sat in front of me with my legs crossed on each other. "Explain to me why you have been going behind my back and instigating trash." I went straight to the point. They looked at one another obviously helping that I would not have been able to figure out that they had a hand in this. How stupid they thought I could be I would not understand but in whatever case, their only way of figuring out how to bring back the truth was by pushing someone towards me. "We have a lot of things that could be discussed but you've decided to hound me about getting married. Does that really matter in the grand scheme of things or are you only ready to make it work in your favor because she has been able to convince you otherwise." My accusation was clear and direct and I was not mincing words. It was supposed to be a clear instruction but at the end of the day I figured out that these guys already had a plan to make my life a living hell but I was not going to let them win. "I'm sorry to interrupt you sir but we don't think that everybody's really pleased with the fact that you have rejected your mate, concerning everything that has been said, we think it is only best if you do what you believe is right. What do you think about that?" It was a resounding no but there was absolutely no way that I would be able to start keeping people who were not ready to fight to the finish for anything tangible instead they were only trying to destroy what I had built. The second thing that I wasn't going to Allah for was the fact that most of the people who had come in here had tried one way or the other to stop me. I looked straight at the people who I wanted to deal with, and figured out that I was only wasting my time and the best way to handle this was to make sure that I had a standard too great for them to manipulate. They immediately went silent but much later I could still see the arguments on their faces which I wouldn't mind disputing. "So, what are some of the things that you have in mind towards taking this pack forward? Or are you hell-bent on proving that I need a woman to run this successfully?" It was a trick question and if they played into my hands they were going to regret their decision because I was going to make them work through eggshells just to be able to get it. They looked at each other for a minute and finally realized that they had not been making sense since the start of things and finally decided to move away. "I thought so too. Now that it is settled, I don't want anybody coming here and making a fool out of themselves. I'll just because they want to prove that they are wise enough. Are my words clear?" Without any further argument they nodded and walked away. Mason looked me in the eye a little bit jittery. "I don't think that's going to work." "To hell with whatever anybody thinks about this, I'm sure that they know better than to test me now." It was a done deal, and everyone would start afresh.
