Pushing aside my crippling thoughts, I stared at myself in the mirror as the lady got done with my preparations. In the mirror before me, was a girl I could barely recognise, a girl whom was far more beautiful than I imagined I could ever be, she looked strong, brave, she looked like someone that the Devil would choose as a bride and yet, beneath those layers of makeup, beneath the red lipstick, the black eyeshadow, beneath the mesmerising outfit, there lay a simple girl, one that wasn’t so special. Beneath all of it, there lay, me.
“You are truly a sight Madam Eve.”
The lady exhaled as she clapped her hands together, a warm smile covering her features while she took in my appearance.
