Before Zara could speak, Sia started crying and threw herself into Marcus's arms, looking pitiful and extremely wronged. "Marcus, she’s lying. That’s not what happened at all. I was just thirsty and accidently spilled some hot water on the table, and I don’t know how Adrian got burned either," she wailed.
"You literally just admitted that you scalded him!" Zara yelled. She was impressed by Sia's acting, but she couldn’t stand her anymore.
"No, I didn’t. Please, Marcus, you must believe me. I have no reason to hurt a child. Trust me, please." Sia turned on the waterworks while in his arms.
Of course, he believed her unconditionally. He glared at Zara and snapped, "You can't manipulate and take advantage of her because she’s kind." He held Sia tightly in his arms as he spoke.
