When she didn’t hear from him for a whole two minutes, she grabbed a pair of socks from the drawer. “Aren’t you gonna apologize?” she asked. “Do I have to?” She was startled by how close his voice was. She didn’t even notice him cross the room towards her. She whirled around and almost fell back when she realized that he was directly behind her.
