It was half past seven when they finally arrived at Madison, Wisconsin. Ava was fast asleep in her seat, curled up into a ball with Giovanni’s jacket perched on top of her. She looked peaceful. Her wavy hair was tied up into a loose bun, strands of it framing her face. Without the frantic look in her eyes and the crazy smile, she almost looked angelic. It took a while before he managed to convince her to get some sleep.
