Ava was barely able to suppress a giggle from underneath the pillow she had been hiding her face in for over ten minutes. Giovanni still wasn’t done berating her. He was circling around her like a hawk, his eyes cold and menacing. He reached out to her and grabbed the pillow from her arm, throwing it across the room. “You listen to me, Ava,” he demanded. She didn’t reply. Instead, she grabbed another pillow from the pile and hid behind it again. Apparently, she seems to have convinced herself that hiding behind one would make him go away. It did, in fact, not make him go away. “I am sick and tired of your f*****g jokes.
