Ella’s POV “This is the police. Open up!” My heart skipped a beat as Maya held on to my hand tightly. “What do we do?” Maya whispered. My breath hitched, my mind raced. I didn't do anything. Why was the police here? I forced myself to stand on my feet, my swollen belly making my movements slower. Maya held my hand, trying to stop me. “I’ll handle it.
