CHAPTER 1

2440 Words
Lielle. I went home right after clubbing. I think I have good resistance to liquor already, since I don't get that drunk easily anymore. "Ma'am, did you drink again?" My maid asked while taking care of my things. I really treat my maids as servants at the house because they just follow my orders anyway and I have the right since we pay them. I can often hear them say, I'm a child full of darkness inside me. Maybe that's what my father made me. "You're coming home? 1 am?" My dad asked while reading the newspaper on the dining table. I just walked past him then walked towards my room. "You're going to disrespect me again?" my father raised his voice. I stopped walking, then he came near me. "Are you going to answer or do you want me to kick you out of the house instead? You have a mouth! You should use that for talking," he shouted at me. There were still maids around us, but I didn't mind getting a sermon in front of them at all, since I'm already used to it. "Sorry, I won't do it again," I responded but didn't look at him. Then I went to my room. "F*ck that asshole." I immediately laid my body on the bed facing downwards. It was already the next day. My alarm clock was ringing since I set it for school time. I usually arrive 30 minutes late as I know the teacher wouldn't scold me. Someone knocked on my door. "Ma'am, your uniform is ready." My maid entered the room. “Yeah, just leave it there,” I strictly said. She left after leaving my uniform. I already got up and went outside of the room. As soon as I went outside, I witnessed my stepmom who is a f*cking snake. She's the reason why my mom passed away. And she did that just to steal my dad away from her. To get all of his assets. She just stared angrily at me while eating grapes. She doesn't care about me at all but my dad still wants me to respect her. Well, she's totally not worth to be accepted but I have no choice about that. My maids got my bag and the driver talked to me. “Your sister will be riding with you today, ma’am,” he said. Ugh, here we go again. Another ride with my stepsister going to school. I went inside the car frustrated. The whole time we're together we're just using our phones until we reached the school. We don't even say goodbye to each other and just part ways immediately like strangers. I went straight to my classroom. As usual, it was boring. The guys in the room totally have a crush on me. Because of money? No. Because of lust. They thought that I was all in for giving up my body just because I go to clubs. Their stupid small minds. It’s just so annoying. Finally, my seatmate had already arrived and he sat down beside me. He’s Bobby Lee, a pure innocent boy who I know wouldn't betray me and had a pure intention at heart. I use him to flirt with so that the other guys would stop bothering me. "Thanks again," I told him while chewing gum. He was really a poor kid under me. I had him as my classmate for four years already because I requested it at the office and they couldn’t reject my request. Dismissal time came. My friends are here. "Hey Lielle! Where are we hanging out today?" Liam grabbed me by the shoulder. He was along with our friends. "Same club," I responded. "Same? Why? Come on you got to explore the other clubs too?" he said. "You can go on your own." I entered my car and went to the club alone. I was drinking tequila while observing people. People grinding against each other. F*cking sluts. All I do here is get wasted but I never felt giving up myself for a one-night stand, never ever. I respect myself and my body even if I'm a sh*tty kind of person. A guy came near me again. It was the same guy who's always bothering me in this club. I'm really going to kick his ass if he doesn't stop. "What do you want again?!" I asked then drank a shot. "I just waited for you babe," he said in a drunk voice. What the?! Babe? I hate hearing him call me that. I immediately stood up. "Hey, come on don't leave." He grabbed me and placed both of his hands up. He was just staring at me the whole time and it's starting to get uncomfortable. "Can you go back down there?" I asked him angrily. "Why? I like the view here," he said. He's a maniac. I'm sure of that. Finally, Liam came in. "Hey, baby!" I stood up and kissed his cheek. It was obviously just for an act. The guy just looked at us and slowly walked away. Liam and I both sat down at the front bar. "The same guy?" Liam got the bottle of gin and placed some on his shot glass. "Yeah, he's a moron," I said. "What does he want from you?" "My body? Obviously, he craves." I drank a shot. "For you? Well, he's sorry because I got you already," he smirked. "Shut up." I rolled my eyes at him. We like teasing each other as best friends. We never felt a romantic thing for one another so it made me feel comfortable around him. He was like a brother to me, just one call away anytime I need him. Days passed by just like that. I go to school then clubs. I was at the club again with Liam. We immediately come here after school. "Why do you always like spending your time in this club? There are other clubs too." Liam asked while we were drinking together. "Nah. It feels good here. It feels like my second home." I drank a shot. "And how is it your second home? Have you tried sleeping in one of the rooms here?" he joked. There were rooms in this club exclusive for people who get wasted and couldn't go home. "No, stupid. Those places are dirty." I drank. I don't know if someone made love in certain rooms, so I really didn't like the thought of their rooms here. Liam laughed and went to the dance floor, while I was left alone sitting in the front bar of the club. After a few minutes passed by, I started looking for him in the crowd but he wasn't anywhere in sight. This time I stood up and tried harder to search for him. Instead, a woman caught my sight. A woman who was walking charismatically with two bodyguards following her from behind. She was long-haired and was wearing a fitted white shirt, denim jeans and sneakers. She caught my attention and I noticed that it was my first time to see her here. Is she new or a VIP? Liam suddenly came back a few seconds after I saw the woman. "Hey." He sat down while I was left standing up. "Hey..." I responded to him, somehow bothered. The woman already went somewhere else where my eyes couldn't follow. Liam must have noticed me. "What are you looking at Lielle?" he asked. "What?" I shook my head and sat down again. "Why were you standing up?" "I was looking for you." It was the truth, but it was also because I looked at the woman who was already gone in my sight. "Missed me already? Wow,” he smirked. "Crazy!” I smirked back at him playfully. A few minutes later, I tried asking him about the woman. "Hey… Have you ever seen an unfamiliar face in the club?" I asked. "Huh? Unfamiliar? What do you mean?" he asked confusedly. "Like… A person who you don't see here every day." "Oh. I don't know, I'm not quite an observant regarding those stuffs. Why?" He drank a shot. "No, nothing... Never mind." I looked away. I went home straight after going to the club, it was already 9 pm. I was surprised that the whole family was having a late dinner. They asked me to join them and I did. "How's school?" my father asked Sabrina, my stepsister. "I aced my test, dad!" my stepsister said excitedly. Tch. If I knew, the administrators wouldn’t mind her exchanging papers with another student during quizzes and tests. Those are not her real scores but dad didn't know about her wrongdoings. He's impressed, how clueless of him to believe. There was a time before when my stepsister had to threaten me to not tell dad about it. In exchange she would delete my picture with Bobby. Poor Bobby, he gets involved with me in a wrong way since I use him. "Lielle, how about you?" my father asked. "It was just the same as usual," I responded. Thankfully, he had no longer follow up questions so I quickly went to my room after dinner. I recalled the appearance of the woman earlier. She's something else. I’m curious about her. I have the urge to meet her and I couldn't stay put. I fell asleep after recalling her for a few minutes. The next day came, I was already at school. I was sitting blankly on the bleachers of our university’s gym when Liam suddenly approached me. "What's up?" He bumped my shoulder then sat down. "Nothing," I said coldly. "Your eyes looks bothered." "My eyes? Why?" I asked while furrowing my eyebrows at him. "Are you bothered about something?" he asked innocently. "Nah..." I looked away. "You think I'll believe you? I've known you for long, you idiot." "Tch." I shook my head. "Is it because of the unfamiliar face?" he asked out of the blue. Am I too obvious? "What? No!" I quickly denied. "Okay but... To think of it, I think I saw few of them,” he said while giving some thought. "What? Really? When? Do you have their contact information?" I immediately asked him. "Did you believe me?" he laughed out loud. He played me. I can’t believe this! "You're the greatest conman I ever met," I got mad and left him alone in the bleachers. "Hey, Lielle!" Liam quickly ran to follow me but I didn’t mind him. It was already dismissal time and we went to the same club. I waited for a lot of hours but the woman I saw last time didn't arrive today. Liam even went home and left me alone already. For five consecutive days, I came home around midnight during 2 am just because of waiting for a woman who didn't even bother to show up again. I gave it some thought and it was time for me to make a move. After school, I didn't go to the club. Instead, I went home straight and got something prepared. It was the list of the club members. I could have an access for this because I have a lot of cash which I used for this. I searched one by one. Person by person, page by page. But how would I even recognize her when I just saw her once and it wasn't even that clear too. Why am I so curious about her? I lied down after skimming the list when Liam called me. "Hey, where are you?" he asked. "Home," I answered indolently. "Aren't you going to the club?" "No." "Why?" "Just stuffs..." "What stuffs? You never had an excuse for clubbing,” he said. I ended the call without answering him. Two days had already passed by and I didn't go to the club. I met Liam at school. "Hey. What's wrong with you lately?" He bugged me. "What?" I asked confusedly. "Do you go to another club already?" "What are you talking about? You know I don't like going to other clubs." "Then why don't you go to the same club anymore?" "It's just that... I don’t feel like going there,” I sighed. "Tch, excuses. Let’s go later!” He bumped my shoulder. I just agreed since I missed going to the club too. After class, Liam and I went to the club. I was looking around but the woman was still not around. Is she a VIP?! Why do I have to spend a lot of time looking for her? I have a lot of money but I couldn't even pay someone to search for her, plus she's quite intimidating to approach since she has bodyguards along with her. "Hey." Liam waved his hands to me. "What?" I drank a shot of vodka. "You're not talking." "What do you want me to say?" I asked, then shook my head. We were both dead silent. “I’m just going to the restroom,” I told him and he nodded. I went to the restroom and entered the cubicle. As I went outside after taking a pee, I saw the woman's familiar structure from behind but I couldn't make a move on her because I was washing my hands. I followed her outside but she was already nowhere to be found so I searched for her, both left and right. Her bodyguards have big bodies, but I couldn't see one in the club. I went back to sit beside Liam at the club’s front bar. "F*ck.” I drank and placed the shot glass at the counter harshly. Liam was surprised by my action and voice as I said it aloud. "Did something happen in the restroom?" he asked worriedly. I closed my eyes as I was frustrated. I was irritated about the wasted opportunity a while ago. "Just who is she?!" I said loudly. "Who? What?" Liam got confused. "Why am I so bothered?!" I got annoyed. "By who?" I wasn't answering any of Liam’s questions. I stood up when he grabbed my shoulder. “Where are you going?” he asked. “Outside, I’ll just be back,” I said. I went outside for fresh air. I was leaning on a wall when I suddenly saw her going inside a car. It was a shiny and expensive one. I quickly memorized the plate number before they left and placed it on the notes of my phone. I feel like a stalker, but I don’t really have bad intentions, I just want to meet her. I went back to Liam and we went home right away.
