CHAPTER 6

2705 Words
The next day, at school. "Stones." Jane messaged me. I went to the stone tables and we both met there. "Sorry about yesterday..." she said. "Yeah, it's fine." The atmosphere was really nice but a little bit windy. She started talking about Math stuffs again. I'm wondering if she's still studying her subjects, but I'm sure she is because I'm only letting her teach me Math, so it wouldn't be much load for her. "Lielle..." she suddenly called me and I looked at her. "Can we study in a cafe tomorrow?" she added. "Cafe? Why?" "I have to go home early… There's a cafe near my house. Could we meet there instead?" she asked. "Oh. Okay, sure." I haven't gone clubbing today after our session and I just studied at home. Tomorrow, at the cafe. I got up late and saw her waving at me. I sat in front of her. "Here." She ordered milk tea for the both of us and offered one to me. Too bad there's no liquor here. I wanted to test her resistance to liquor. She started teaching me, showing a solution. "This is the absolute value. You know about this, right?" she asked, and I nodded. She was explaining a lot while I was just staring at her eyes. Later on, I found myself looking at her lips while she was speaking. F*ck. Do I feel… The crave to kiss? No! She's younger and adorable… I shouldn't spoil her. It's been a long time since I kissed someone. Someone I met on the club, an i***t, he left me out of the blue when I fell for him. I just knew by then that he had a girlfriend. Gosh, I really felt so stupid that time. I removed the thought from my head. I was solving a problem and she was there to guide me. "This one should be 0. And this one 10..." She pointed out my mistake on the notebook. Her hand was just on top of my hand. I felt like I wanted to grab it and kiss her. What’s happening to me?! I'm imagining things. Stop it, mind! "Lielle, I have to go... You have a chauffeur, right?" she asked and I nodded. "Just get fetched. I'll be teaching you more tomorrow," she added. T-Tomorrow? It's the weekend. Is she overdoing herself? I also have to go to Rachel's gig! I had already kept my things and contacted my chauffeur. After she left, the heavy rain suddenly dropped. I thought it was going to be happening tomorrow yet? I waited a few minutes for my chauffeur, I checked for messages, but nothing came. I came to the point where I had already read the milktea's ingredients while waiting. F*ck. Where's my chauffeur?! I stood up to see if my car was there but it wasn't. Then I suddenly received a message. "Ma'am Lielle, I’m really sorry but I have to fetch your stepsister too. She's not home yet." Ugh?! What?! "What?! Can't you fetch me first?! Who contacted you first?!" "Sorry Ma'am Lielle... It's your dad's order," he replied. Great. See now, who's the favorite. I contacted our other chauffeur. We had three but the other one belongs to dad only. Him alone, even stepmom couldn't call that chauffeur. The other chauffeur agreed to fetch me. Finally, I want to go home already. It's almost an hour spending my time alone in this cafe. There were only few people but they had company with them and I didn't even have a sweater with me. It felt so cold. I called the chauffeur, I'm sure he's already driving. "Yes, Ma'am Lielle?" he asked. "Do you have a sweater in the car?" "Sweater?" "Yes, you heard me right?" I asked strictly. "I'm not quite sure. I can't check now. I'm on the road, ma'am." Gosh. I ended the call. I was now stuck for an hour and 30 minutes in the cafe. I thought of getting a taxi instead but there were a lot of people lining up for it plus I hate riding taxis. The aroma doesn't smell good. Stinky. As possible, I really avoid riding taxis. Even buses, since it's crowded. Trains are better but I don't want to get there either, chauffeur is really the best option for me. It was already 8:30 in the evening. I'm not at home. Not in the club. I was stuck in a cafe. I prefer I was stuck at the club I used to go to. They don't have liquor here and it bores me. Finally, my chauffeur called me. I immediately stood up but didn't go outside since the rain was heavy. "Ma'am Lielle." "Yes, what? Have you arrived now? Can you get me an umbrella? I don't have one," I said while panicking. "There's a problem..." he said. "What?! What problem?!" "I'm still quite far from you..." "What?! Are you even doing your job right?! I just want to be fetched now!" I argued. "I really can't go on because the roads are blocked due to heavy rain." I can hear heavy raindrops from the outside because of the call. "Trees are also falling down too... I think there's a typhoon coming, Ma'am Lielle..." he said sadly. "F*ck. Can you stop blabbering and find a way for me to go home?! Do you want me to decrease your salary?!" "N-No ma'am..." he sounded so down. "Then find a way!" I ended the call. Useless people! If I had known it would be like this I shouldn't have come to this cafe. How could Jane even bring me here so easily?! I'm quite hard to deal with because I'm hard-headed. The chauffeur called again after 10 minutes. "Ma'am Lielle..." "Please tell me you're here now." "The rain became heavier..." Who cares?! "So what?! Tell me you're here!" "I'm stuck… Sorry ma'am Lielle, I really couldn't go. I tried every possible way. Please don't decrease my salary! Pl--" I quickly ended the call. I looked at the people outside. Great?! What am I going to do here now?! I called Liam. Thankfully, he answered. "Liam!" I shouted. The music was so loud in his location. "What?!" he answered me in a drunk voice. "I have a problem!" I said loudly. I think he's talking with someone at the same time as me. "What?! I can't hear you! I'm at the other club," he said. It was really very noisy so I ended the call and decided to message him instead. "Liam. Help me, I'm stuck. Can you fetch me? Or at least just let your chauffeur do it." I felt hopeless as he didn't reply and the message was sent 15 minutes ago. Some people were already leaving the cafe. I'm almost going to cry. I placed my head on the table with my arms beneath it. "Someone help me!" I sighed. Suddenly, a message came. Please let it be Liam. But it was my stepsister! "I'm home. Get jealous. Heard you got stuck in a café," she messaged. "F*ck you for getting my ride! I contacted the chauffeur first!" "Well, I told dad to double his salary. Ha! Have a good night, xoxo." Urgh! I hate my stepsister so much! Another message came and it was from Jane this time. "I'm sorry about today again. Hope you arrived home safely. I'll be teaching you tomorrow. Don't worry." Jane... I forgot about Jane. "I'm stuck," I replied. "Huh? What do you mean?" "I'm still at the cafe and I think I'll be staying here overnight because of the rain. I feel so hopeless right now.” "Really?" She's just going to send me "Really?" She's not even going to ask how I'm doing?! She's just like my stepsister. I didn't reply to her but she messaged me again. "My chauffeur is already asleep Lielle... My bodyguards too," she messaged. Okay, who cares? I'm stuck here anyway, I might as well just sleep here, but for Pete’s sake, the waiter wants me out! How could they kick me out?! They're making my day more miserable. "I'll pay you for tonight. Let me sleep here," I told the staff. "Sorry miss, but this isn't a hotel. The staff have to go home too." I really have to go out?! I left the café without arguing more and I was freezing cold due to the strong wind too. How am I suffering in a situation like this?! If I really knew about this, I wish I had made my dad hire thousands of chauffeurs, but I know it would still be useless because of the road blockage. I'm almost out of battery. I left my power bank at home. How tragic! I sat down outside the cafe and I leaned on its wall. I had my arms on top of my knees and then my head on it. I was already crying. Suddenly, I heard a car stopping in front of me, but I didn't bother to look. I was hopeless and I was crying. I opened my eyes while I was still looking down the floor. I didn't hear raindrops anymore. Did the rain stop? Later on, I saw the person's sneakers and they were for girls. I looked up and saw Jane. She brought an umbrella with her. I looked at her with a frightened, worrying face. I'm really in tears. I quickly stood up and hugged her very tight, then I cried. I was scared. I'm very scared of being alone in an unfamiliar place. I think this is one of the reasons why I don't like going to the other clubs, because I'm unfamiliar with them. I don't want to feel alone in the crowd. It crushes me to pieces. She placed her hand on my back while her other hand was still carrying the umbrella, then she caressed my hair from behind. "It's okay, I'm here now. Don't cry anymore," she said calmly. It was such a nice feeling to hear those words. I felt like someone truly cares for me, genuinely. But I'm still crying. "Lielle, let's get you in the car first." I agreed and wiped my tears as I entered the car. She was the one who opened the door for me, then she got in the driver's seat. She drove the car farther from the cafe. "You're far from the cafe now, okay? Stop crying." She caressed both of my arms while saying those words. I was still in tears but not that much anymore. It's such a shame to cry in front of her because I should really be a showing a strong personality. I cry hidden and never in front of somebody, but today I really couldn't help myself. The fact of being stuck alone makes me crazy. "Shhh." She hugged me. I felt safe while hugging her. I felt home. She got a towel from the backseat. "Here, let's dry you up first. There are drips on your arms." She dried me with the towel all over my arms, then my hair. It made me so soft. Her actions make me feel at ease. I'm scared of trusting someone again. "Stop crying now." She wiped my tears. She gave me her coat and made me wear it. I was wiping my tears. "I thought no one would come for me anymore," my tears began to fall again. "Shhh. Stop crying." She hugged me again and noticed a noodle shop behind me. "Hey. We're in front of a noodle house. Do you want to grab some?" she asked. I didn't answer but she came down with an umbrella and opened the door for me. We got inside and she ordered two noodle dishes. I didn't mind her and immediately ate it and drank the hot soup to make my body feel warm. "Slowly," she said while looking at me. She was surprised as I quickly finished my noodles. "Wow... So fast. Do you want another one?" she asked me, but I refused. I was still sad deep inside, but I wasn't crying anymore. She was still eating her noodles. After eating she paid and we went back to the car. I noticed that she was placing the umbrella more on my side than hers as we were walking back. She pulled my shoulder to make me fit in the umbrella. Now there are raindrops on her arms. She knew about it but she just drove the car. I didn't know where we were going, but I trusted her. "Jane, I really thought you couldn't go..." I said nervously. "I'll tell you later, take a rest first," she said. I didn't know that she could drive and she was also using a different car. We arrived at a mansion and the gate was being opened by the gatekeepers. Is this her house? It's so huge. She went down first and opened the door for me, then someone took over to drive the car. Jane held my hand and I was surprised. "We should run but make sure not to be noisy, okay?" she asked, then I nodded. She opened the door of the living room slowly. I was surprised by Jane's maid but she gestured to her. We slowly went up to the second floor. A door opened and she told me to hide, but later on the person went back inside the room. We slowly went inside a room. She made me sit down on the bed, then she turned the heater on. "Here, just in case. Also... Do you want to get changed?" She got more towels for me, then asked. I haven't responded. "You should," she answered her own question. She made me go inside the restroom and gave me a towel. "I'll be placing your clothes outside later," she said. I went inside the restroom and then I washed up. The bath tub felt so cozy and the restroom was so huge, it's huge enough to be a single bedroom. After I finished, I took the clothes and got dressed. It was kind of short for my body, forgetting that she was shorter than me. The heavy rain became light but it still became heavy from time to time. After I washed up, she also did. Then she came back to me afterwards. "Sorry about the clothes... Umm... That's the longest I have," she said. "It's okay, Jane," I replied. The atmosphere felt awkward. "This is my room, by the way, sorry for suddenly bringing you in. I couldn't stay outside longer, my dad is strict." "O-Oh, I see..." "You should take a rest now." She made me lie down on her bed. There was also a couch in her room which was facing the television. She also has a bookshelf and a table. She's very sophisticated. "Where are you sleeping?" I asked while I was lying down hugging the blanket. "Couch. Why? Do you want me to sleep with you?" she asked. She was sitting on the couch; her body perfectly fits in there if she'll lie down. Is she teasing me again? "I-I should be on the couch..." I said. "Why?" "Because this is your bed..." "Okay, so?" "You should be lying down here." "Hmm... What does that supposed to mean?" she asked. What is she saying? "What?" I asked her back. "You're telling me I should be lying down on my bed not on the couch?" "Yes?" "Okay." She lied down slowly, beside me. What the f*ck?! "Wait--I should be on the couch." I sat down but she grabbed me back again. "Nope, you think your long-legged body would fit on that couch?" she asked. "But..." "Why? Are you scared of lying down next to me?" Shoot. I'm weak to people I'm soft for. I became nervous and I heard my heart beating. "No... It's just that--" I hadn't finished talking when she made me lie down again. Why am I already nervous?! I faced the ceiling while she was facing me. "You should sleep. I know how you got very scared a while ago." She placed her body closer to mine. Why is she moving near me?! My body was just stiff.
