She went down to an area on the campus where there were stone tables lined up which were fixed in the ground. There were a lot of students there too, maybe because of the preparation for exam week.
She sat down and I followed her.
"You're really not going home?" she asked.
I'm sure she's already annoyed with my presence.
"Nope. Might just go to the club," I said.
"Then go."
"Nah. I want to annoy you.” I looked at her.
"F*ck it. I'm studying."
This girl cusses a lot, huh?
"I'll just be quiet then," I said.
I noticed her book and asked her about it.
"Wait. What?! You're a year lower than me?" I asked.
"What?" she answered.
"I thought we were on the same grade, dang..."
"Who told you so?"
"My instinct."
"I even thought you were younger."
"What? Why?" I asked innocently.
"Because you're immature."
Woah, woah. Is she serious?
"Woah, what? After helping you I get this?" I furrowed my eyebrows.
"Yeah, thanks to you I'm grounded for a week," she said aggressively.
"Wait. What?! Is that my fault?!" I asked strongly.
"Well, you pushed me to escape from them."
"What the f*ck? You were the one who called me out!" I raised my voice.
"Ugh! Just shush. I'll study now and would neglect your presence from this point," She read her book.
"Ouch," I said jokingly.
I was just using my phone while she was studying and I successfully took a picture of her without her noticing. A thought suddenly came to my mind.
"Hey..." I said.
"What again?" she asked while writing down.
"I thought of something."
"What?"
"A good idea."
"What?"
"Be my tutor."
"What?!" She looked at me confusedly.
"You're a year ahead of me. How can I teach you your lessons," she added.
"Hmm... I think you're smart. Aren't you?" I got her book and saw her perfect scores.
"See? I knew it!" I said excitedly.
She quickly grabbed her book back.
"Still! Those are my lessons, your lessons are different," she said.
"Then here goes the good idea. Consider it as your payment."
"Huh?! What? If you're underestimating me about the triple payment. You're wrong. I have enough money to pay you back,” she undoubtedly said, trying to block my offer.
"So you’re really rich..."
"And so?"
"Accept my deal and keep your money."
"Gosh." She shook her head showing disappointment.
"Okay fine, a better deal…” I said.
"You're really making me as your tutor?!" she asked loudly.
"Keep everything. I'm a year ahead of you so when I graduate all of my notes are yours to keep."
That's such a good offer. I bet she wouldn't decline.
"What? You only thought of that?" she asked.
What?! Is she playing around?!
"Are you underestimating my offer?! Gosh! It would be a big help to you," I said annoyed.
"I could strive on my own."
What a hard-headed girl she is!
"Now you're annoying!"
"Did I annoy you? I'm sorry," she said teasingly.
I left her alone and went home straight. I quickly went to my room and got furious thinking about her. F*ck. I don't know why I'm heating up, I'm really mad.
The next day at school, I was just writing down notes and thought of her. Why can't she just accept the deal?!
During lunch time, Liam texted me.
"Met new people, let's see each other later at the club," he messaged.
"New?" I replied.
"Yes! Make sure to come!"
"Okay.”
During dismissal time someone messaged me.
I thought Liam would be bugging me about it but to my surprise it was my debtor.
"Talk?" she messaged.
"What talk? The song?" I replied teasingly.
"Are you kidding?"
"Yeah, obviously."
"Meet me in the stone tables," she replied but I didn’t respond back.
Who is she even?! I have to go to the club.
I called my chauffeur and rode the car. We were already quite far from the university, but I couldn't leave.
"Can you turn back the car?" I asked my chauffeur.
He slowly drove the car going back to the university. I quickly got down going straight to the stone tables. Why am I even here?!
I sat down while facing her.
"What now?" I asked annoyed.
"Why does it look like you're out of breath? Did you run?" she teased.
"F*ck. Just tell me," I said while catching my breath.
Liam messaged me.
"Where are you?"
I only read it but I didn’t reply.
"Are you in a hurry?" she asked.
"My chauffeur's here."
"Oh, I see. A chauffeur," she smirked.
"Are you just going to waste my time or are you going to tell me now?"
"Hmm..." she pretended to think.
I'm annoyed!
"I have to go to the club." I stood up.
"I hate clubs," she suddenly said.
What?! Clubbing is my life. And a second what is that I saw her twice at the same club!
"Okay, so?" I asked bossily.
"Do you want to hear me out?"
"Ugh!" I shrugged.
"Sit down," she commanded me.
I think I’m stupid for following her. I sat down again.
"Do you want to hear what I'll be saying?" she asked.
"Yeah, yeah. Just get through it."
Liam messaged me again.
"They're amazing people. Don't miss it. Come on, Lielle."
I haven't replied again and left it on read.
"You're really in a hurry, aren't you?" she asked teasingly.
I thought I'd be the one teasing her but I ended up to be the one who’s teased which is very annoying.
"I am and you’re aware but you're holding me for too long. You're doing this on purpose aren't you?!" I said being so annoyed.
"You got that right."
"Can't believe I called you cutie,” I said angrily.
"Yeah, I laughed in my mind," she chuckled.
"Ugh, gosh! Can you stop going around the bush?!" I asked annoyed.
Liam was calling me and debtor saw it. I was just looking at my phone ringing.
"Aren’t you going to answer?" she teased.
"Just go on," she added.
She wanted me to answer the phone so I did. Why am I even following her orders?!
I answered Liam’s call.
"Yes? Yeah. I'm comi--" I couldn’t finish my statement as debtor wrote down a note which says "DON'T GO."
I asked "What?!" using pantomime.
"Say you won’t go!" She pantomimed back.
F*ck it!
She looked terrifying and I didn't want to let Liam wait for me because this conversation seems to be endless.
"Liam, I can't make it today..." I said lowly.
"What why?!"
"I-I'm at home already. I'm tired, sorry."
"Too bad. They are waiting for you. Okay, let’s do this next time," he said.
I ended the call and placed both of my hands on my head. Gosh! I'm being controlled by this girl.
"Good," she said happily as if she won a contest.
Good?! I'm getting enslaved by this girl! A girl who I don't even know who. We don't even know each other's name.
"F*ck you." I insulted her because I felt really bad declining Liam and not going to the club.
"Well, you already said you couldn't go so…" she smirked.
Is she happy about it?! I shouldn't have helped her escape!
"Just tell me what you want to say, please. I'm tired," I said frustratedly.
"Beg more," she said confidently.
What?! Truthfully, I could just leave right now but I'm glued at the chair for some reason. I don't have no idea on why! I suddenly couldn't move my body, it's against my mind.
"Why should I beg?!" I asked angrily.
"To know what I'll say."
"What?! You're just playing around and now you got my plan cancelled! Are you happy about it?!"
"Then why did you follow my order?" she chuckled.
She's right. Why did I? Did I turn as her slave?!
"F*ck."
I'm out of words. I just want to go home and end this day.
"Oops. That's not a beg," she grinned.
Oh gosh!
"You really want me to beg to you?! After helping you escape?"
"Uh huh. Exactly," she smirked.
"Your audacity."
"So are you going to or are you not?"
"Fine! This wouldn't end if I wouldn’t do it, right?!"
She nodded slowly.
"Please." I said with a low voice.
"Huh?"
"I said please!" I said angrily.
"No, you're using a mad tone."
She's starting to get in my nerves!
"Please?" I faked a smile.
"Hmm, no."
"What else do you want?!"
"Something softer."
"Please." I said in a calm voice then sighed but I couldn't take it anymore.
"Please just tell me about it because I'm already tired and I want to go home!” I raised my voice a little bit but I don't think she got threatened by it but she actually did.
She laughed a bit.
"How can you laugh in this situation?!" I asked.
"Me? I'm not laughing at all."
"Okay, now tell me. I'm done joking around."
"Hmm... Me not yet. Tell me your name,” she said.
"Huh?!"
"I told you my location yesterday. Now tell me."
"F*ck," I cussed.
"Your name's F*ck?” she chuckled.
"Gosh!"
"Now, gosh? Your second name?"
"Can you stop messing with me?" I asked.
"I was asking you properly though," she laughed.
"Lielle..." I said.
"Lielle, what?"
"Lielle Hwang."
"Oh, then. Nice to meet you Lielle." She offered her hand.
I just looked at her annoyingly and didn't accept the handshake. She pointed her hand using her head but I didn't bite.
"You don't want to know my name?" she asked.
I got her hand and we did a handshake.
"Jane," she said.
"Jane Kim," she added.
So her name's Jane Kim, huh?
I ended the handshake.
"So you'll have to change debtor now in your contacts into Jane," she said.
Oh God, no.
"What if I don't?" I asked.
"Then you'll really never know what I'm going to say."
"What? You aren't done yet? I thought you were just going to ask my name."
"Who said so? You're assuming a lot huh, Lielle?"
I grabbed my hair because of annoyance. Gosh!
"Fine!" I got my phone and changed the contact’s name debtor to Jane and showed it in front of her face.
"Happy now?" I asked.
She nodded.
"Okay. Now I'm done playing around,” she said.
"Okay, tell me."
"Are you still in a hurry, Lielle?" she smirked.
It was almost 5:30 PM and we already spent an hour talking, actually she was just annoying me the whole time.
"Just tell me, please," I said with a weak voice.
I'm already losing my energy in this pointless conversation.
"That's the beg I wanted to hear," she said proudly.
"Okay, for real now,” she breathed heavily.
Is she finally going to say it?!
"Why do you need a tutor? You look capable of teaching yourself as what your attitude is showing plus you're rich, you can hire a teacher but why me?" she asked.
Is she serious?!
"Capable? What? Hire a teacher? Did they borrow money from me?" I argued.
"Hmm... Okay. So, you're purely asking me to be your tutor because of the money, right?" she asked.
"Yeah?"
"And you don't want it in cash? Instead, you want me to teach you?"
"Yeah."
"And... I get all of your study materials once you graduate?" she asked excitedly.
"Yes, cut the deal."
"Okay! Then we're good."
What?! Is she agreeing now? I want to change my mind but it's too late!
She offered her hand for a handshake.
"Do it as a sign of partnership," she said.
Partnership my ass.
We made a handshake.
"I'm leaving now, bye." She quickly got her things and left.
What a day!
I quickly went home afterwards, finally! Finally, finally!
I lied down on the bed immediately.
Phew, I thought I'd be stuck there forever.
I couldn't get enough calmness so I called my maid to massage my back and she did so.
Right after she left, I suddenly recalled what happened.
Today I just realized one thing. First impression doesn’t last!
The next day, when I was at school, I received a new message.
It was from Jane, the debtor.
"When do you want to start your classes, my student, Lielle?" she messaged.
What? Student?!
"I don't know, perhaps next week," I replied.
"Hmm... Why not this week?"
"The week is almost ending. For a fresh start."
"Oh... So you could still go clubbing?"
Gosh.
"Can you stop teasing me?"
During dismissal time, I saw her walking near the gate.
"Where you going?" she asked me.
"Somewhere without you," I said strictly.
"Club?"
She knows. Why is she still asking?
"Yeah, whatever." I went in my car and went to the club where I met with Liam.
He gave me a drink.
"Why couldn't you go yesterday?" he asked.
"I told you I had something that came up."
We sat down at the sofa seats in the club.
"You told me you were tired."
Gosh. Stupid me.
"Y-Yeah. Anyways, can they go today?"
"Today? Hmm... I'll message them."
I waited and stood up while looking downstairs since we were at the second floor.
I saw Jane. Again.
She said she doesn't like clubs then why is she here? What a liar.
"Hey, one of them could go. They'll reach here in 25 minutes."
"Oh. Okay!" I was watching Jane walk along with her bodyguards until she got out of sight.
I was facing Liam while standing up, he was sitting down.
"I think I couldn't go clubbing next week," I said.
"What? Why?" Liam asked, panicking.
"I'll be studying."
He almost spit his drink.
"What?! Did I hear that right?!" he asked surprised.
"Ugh, gosh. Yes?!"
"Why all of the sudden?!" He stood up and got tissues from the mini bar to wipe his mouth.
"I just felt so..." I responded.
A girl suddenly walks in and greets Liam cheek to cheek.
"Hey! It was nice you could come today," Liam said.
"Yeah! I came alone though."
"It's fine, have a seat,” Liam said offering her a seat. She had a seat while I was leaning the railing holding my glass chicly.
"Ah, meet Lielle Hwang over here," Liam introduced me and I smiled to her.
"This is Rachel Park, by the way," he added.
Oh, Rachel.
We just bowed at each other awkwardly.
Someone called Liam and excused himself for a while.
Why did he leave us? It's awkward. It's also our first night to know each other.
Uh. I don't know what to do…
"Lielle, what do you do?" Rachel asked.
"Me? Umm... I'm actually a student." I placed my glass on top of the table and sat down.
"Oh really? Liam said you were going here almost every day?"
"Y-Yeah… We drink a lot together..." I answered awkwardly then she didn't respond.
"How about you? What do you do?" I asked her.
"I'm a vocal mentor and I perform a gig every week too," she answered calmly.
"Wow. That's great, I should check it out some time."
Liam came back to us.
"Sorry, a friend called me. So, have you talked?" he asked.
"Y-Yeah, a bit," I said.
"Rachel doesn't drink a lot, right?" Liam asked.
Rachel nodded and we had a few chitchats together. After Rachel left, I talked with Liam.
"How'd you meet her?" I drank as Liam poured me a drink.
"Through her gig, I wanted to ask her out but she's too reserved. Not my type."
"What's your type?" I grinned.
"Someone like you, a drinker," he said seriously.
"Why not me then?" I asked but deep inside I wanted to laugh.
"Because you're dumb and a crybaby," he chuckled.
"What?!" I punched him on his arm lightly.
"I'm kidding!" He covered his arm while closing his eyes then he laughed.
"You, what's your type?" he asked me.
"Type? I don’t know," I answered then drank a shot.
"Impossible. Maybe a drinker as well?"
"Could probably be.” I raised both of my shoulders together.
As I looked at the right side of the club below, I saw Jane going down the stairs. I followed her with my eyes all throughout the exit.
"Your type?" Liam caught me observing her.
"What?" I looked at him.
"That one." He pointed Jane who just passed by downstairs.
"The h*ck? No," I argued.
"Then why are your eyes all over her?"
"What?! It was a coincidence." I denied as possible.
I went home and wondered what she was doing there when she said she hates the club.
