Questioning

567 Words
Seth had hair that was white like snow and ice blue eyes, he was very muscular and looked like he could snap her in two if he desired. Even though his voice and stance were stern and firm Natalie could sense a softness about him. He was looking at her like he knew exactly what she had gone through in the last three days. Natalie took a breath and stood up from her crouched position. "Well my name is Natalie Thorne and I came to pledge my alliance to your pack and hoped to be made an official member." Seth tilted his head staring at Natalie. "What happened to your pack? I can still smell traces of them on you." Natalie wanted to tuck her head in shame or curl up in a ball and hide from his questions. "Umm the alpha banished me." she said in a small voice. "Oh?" questioned Seth. "He thought my parents were rogues but I know they weren't, I think they might have been hurt by the rogues they were chasing down. Then he apparently knew we were mates and rejected me." Natalie was starting to ramble and cry "It was basically like the worst day ever and I didn't know where to go or who to try to get help from.." she was sobbing now. Great how embarrassing. Seth was taken back by this sudden outburst. He had a lot of questions running through his head but with her emotionally state right now he wasn't sure what kind of answers he would get. He grabbed a box of tissues and held them out towards her through the bars. She took one and wiped her eyes, still sniffling. "You're telling me that your parents were chasing rogues?" he asked. Natalie nodded then blew her nose. Seth was debating on what he should say next. Almost a month ago two wolves had crossed their border badly injured from a fight with the same rogues that had killed Tyler's sister. The new wolves were a mated couple. His pack had taken them in immediately with gratitude. They were both healed now and had pledged allegiance to his pack for fear that their old pack thought them to be rogues themselves. The woman Marsha had taken over as a head healer in their pack clinic and her mate Kent had joined up with the officers to train the pack fighters. "What were your parent's names?" Natalie looked at him in confusion. Why would he ask that? Could they possibly be here in this pack now? "Marsha and Kent" she replied. Natalie felt like she was holding her breath waiting to see if he would say anything next. Seth couldn't help the smile that broke out on his face, he covered it with his hand so Natalie wouldn't see and get suspicious. Tyler always said that he didn't know how he could ever repay Marsh and Kent for their help in battling the rogues. By some weird twist of fate the daughter they had been so worried about shows up, Seth couldn't wait to see their faces when they were reunited with their daughter. "Well Natalie let's take you to the pack clinic to get check out, I don't think you're someone who we need to keep locked up." He dug the cell keys out of his pocket and unlocked the door swinging it open.
