I decided the best thing for me to do was leave Samir and the Powolskis and go back to the float house, live out my own life there, now that my probation was up and I didn"t really have to work for Lorne. Who might have killed the Mayor and maybe Doc Hubert? My head hurt with all the thinking I"d been doing. Samir and my supervisors were probably right, I needed a break. A stress leave, and if I could do that and still get paid by the Justice Department, which I understood maybe would be the case, well, sweet. After all, they hadn"t drove me mad exactly, but they hadn"t helped my sanity either. Giving me this case so much above my coconut head.
