Chapter 1: A Romantic Date

Adira was super excited as she placed the shopping bags from her hand onto the couch, followed by Kia.

“I don’t really get it , so much shopping just for a movie date, Huh!” huffed Kia at Adira

“Babes, its not just any movie date, its a movie date with my Valentine , finally after so many months we’ve got our relationship on track, I am super super happy.” Adira beamed with a big smile, her gorgeous gray eyes sparkled and her fair skin blushed as she thought about her love for Bane.

“Yeah! wish I could say the same, of all the good looking guys, you really had to settle down for that Baboon Bane” Kia smirked as she disliked Bane, “I’d rather you be with that simple Aryan, atleast he displays an air of sincerity around him.” Kia always felt Aryan truly loved Adira while she kept ignoring his love.

“Kia, this is my life, can I atleast decide who I wanna be with,” Adira was so done with all interfering with her love life and choices, her brother was same like Kia.

Kia felt this going else where and decided to end this conversation here.She had already surpassed the number of times of warning Adira about Bane and his family plus the weird rumours that surrounded them, but as they say, love truly is blind.

Adira had to meet Bane at 4 pm at Regale cinema, they would watch a movie and then head to his house where he wanted to introduce her to his family. Adira was so excited that she shopped for everything new, from her dress which was a long gown with multiple long layers of frill that could even be detached when not needed . She even bought a pair of sexy new lingeries .. just in case she finds cozy time with Bane. Everything from her sandals to even her hair accessories was new today. She wanted to make the best impression on Bane and his family.

4 pm: Regale Cinema:

In her excitement Adira had reached about 15 minutes early, but since it was already 4 pm, Bane was no where to be seen. She dialled his number but could not connect. She began to get restless, 4:15, 4:30... time ran fast.

It was now 5:30, the movie they had to watch was done and the people walked out. Adira’s eyes brimmed with tears, she felt desolate as she kept trying to connect with Bane’s phone but could not. Her excitement fizzled and she wanted to cry out loud. Just then she heard someone call out her name. She turned around excited but was disappointed to see it was Aryan and immediately made a face.He was the last person she wanted to see at this moment

“Hey Adira, you here to catch a movie?”

“No, I just thought this was a good spot to practice yoga.” she replied sarcastically

Aryan had a small tight smile on his lips at her reply, he sensed her dislike for him and it pained

“You ok, do you want to join me for coffee?” he asked politely, he could never see her distressed , he had loved her from last 2 births, Yes, this was his second re birth , only to make Adira his, but he never could understand why she despised him so much.. may be some old soul karma of his did not let her fall in love with him.

“Aryan, what makes you think I’d like to have coffee with you and waste my precious time listening to your bull sh*t talks about how much you love me and blah blah, let me make it very clear to you, once and for all, Ill never ever love you in this life time atleast, do you get it, NEVER... EVER. I only and only love Bane” She yelled aloud at Aryan which made the people around gather to see whats happening, Aryan had a solemn cold face, but his eyes were beginning to get red.

Adira was fuming and she turned around to march away, without noticing that a cab in full speed was driving on the road towards where she had stepped. The cabbie braked but it was too late, Adira thought she would not live to see Bane and shut her eyes frozen on the spot.

A strong hand held her and pulled her into his arms while falling towards the other side of the road before the cab could hit her, they rolled over and over, but something hit the person holding her and he released her, she continued to roll a little farther. The impact of the hit was so hard that though the other person was hit by the object, she still felt thunder in her body.

She stood up all shaken and tried to get a grip on her self as she hurried to see the person who saved her and was hit, a crowd had gathered around him. As she cut through them, she was shocked to see Aryan covered in blood, he had saved her from the cab and was hit by a pole on the sidewalk on his head. She rushed to him fell to her knees , tears of guilt brimmed in her eyes.She had always been rude to him, just now she had humiliated him so bad in public and yet here he was...

“Ar.. Aryan, you...,” She choked as she tried to speak, Aryan was bleeding profusely but kept looking at her.

“Adir.. Adira, I, I am sorry If I hurt you, but I always loved you, not in this life time, but pro.. promise me that in your next lifetime, you will love only me.. please,” he spoke with difficulty.

“Someone please call an ambulance,” Adira was disheveled and yelled at people who just stared, “ Aryan, please for.. forgive me for being rude. I.. I am so sorry..”

“Pro... promise me Adir... next lifetime...?”

“Adira did not know how to give a hurt man solace, she knew he might not survive, “Yes.. next lifetime, I promise you Aryan, I will love only you.” she broke down in tears as she saw Aryan smile when he heard her despite being in so much pain.It was only then that reality hit her, she never could fathom Aryan’s love for her and always mocked him , made fun of him. She regretted it now. If only she could love him back.

The ambulance had reached the spot and Aryan was taken to the hospital, the crowd dispersed and Adira was left standing alone.

She thought of following the ambulance and see Aryan at the hospital but then her phone rang.

In such kind of a state of shock, when she finally saw Bane’s name flash on the phone, she picked up instantly and felt a rush of relief run through her.

“Bane, Ary...,”

“Adira, I am texting you my address, come over immediately, there’s something urgent we have to deal with.” Bane’s tone was curt and urgent

“But Bane, Arya... I just was .”

“Do you get me, now hurry up and reach here without any further delay, we are waiting for you.” he disconnected the call without bothering to hear Adira out. Her phone beeped and she received the notification of the address Bane sent her.

She sighed as she hailed a cab, thinking about Aryan..
