Chapter Three: Aiden

492 Words
“Morning” Kristen's sounds far too cheery “oh my God” she gushes, I can't wait for the party tonight. I just smile, shake my head and roll my eyes at her. See, unlike me, she's the social butterfly. How we ended up best friends I'll never know, she's prim and proper, beauty queen gorgeous with her long blonde hair, bright blue eyes and legs for days. We literally couldn't be more opposite. She always thinks about what she's saying, whereas I tend to blurt the first thought that comes to my mind, which has been known to end me up in hot water. I just smirk at her, still not quite awake yet, it's too early to be this happy. “Really, you're this excited about tonight?” I ask, raising a brow at her. “Come on Aiden it'll be fun” she states A snort leaves my lips. “Seriously it's for Kai you know it's going to be uptight until it's not and then all we'll see is the long line of easy a** vying to be his bed partner. I don't know why that bothers me, it has as long as I can remember, I hate seeing him with his conquests. It's like a surge of jealousy rages through me until I regain my senses and mentally chide myself for getting worked up over that. Unfortunately, all this line of thinking and conversation has done is make me anxious for tonight. Kristen smiles and giggles a bit, “Sounds like someone wishes she was the girl he would pick.” “What! Hell no!” I say defensively, “I just think as a future Alpha what he does should be between him and whoever he's with, not out in the open for all of us to witness.” she just rolls her eyes at me and turns to Alex who hasn't been paying attention to anything but his phone. “What do you think?” she asked Alex, “Do you think Aiden here may be a bit jealous, maybe she has a crush on Kai?” Alex looks at me and then back at her, knowing he wants to avoid being any part of this conversation. He just shakes his head “Come on ladies we got better things to do than discuss my brother, let's get to class.” Thankful for his change in topic, I wave at them both “I'll see you later I've got to get to English” I walk away without looking back as a brick of dread settles in my stomach and a sudden fear things are about to change monumentally. It's funny how things can change in a second. One minute I'm fine and on my way to class, in the next all I feel is pain. So much pain, What the hell?” I scream, hit the floor and everything just descends into darkness.
