Peony POV

I turned again before sitting upright, coming back here was a mistake

Daren hasn't talked to me since I've woken up it's he's avoiding me

Maybe he's indirectly telling me 'why did you wake up' or 'why didn't you just die'.

God this is frustrating

I got out of bed and went out of the room, I was actually going to his room when I changed my mind

He should be the one that should come to me I just got out of coma

Retracing my steps I decided to go get a drink

Walking down the stairs I sighted him in the living room and this time he isn't busy with his laptop or phone, he is reading a book

I was so lost looking at him that I missed a step making me fall down the stairs

"s**t" I said and groaned holding my ankle which looks like it was sprained

Writer's POV

"Are you okay?" Daren asked and went to where Peony was

"Yeah I'm fine" Peony said still holding her ankle, she brushed her hair aside and tried to stand up but ended up falling back on the floor

She tried to stand up again but ended up falling, Daren who was watching her let out a chuckle

"What's funny" she asked looking at him

"You, You are funny" he said and she hissed

"Are you going to help me or not" she asked

"You said you are fine" he said and smiled

"Just help me will you?" She said and he smiled before bending over and picked her up in a bridal style

Smiling to herself she put her hand around his neck as he ascended the stairs and went to the direction of her room

He dropped her carefully on the bed and wanted to stand upright but peony didn't remove her hands from his neck

"Let go" Daren said and peony shaked her head "Sit, please" she said a shifted a little creating a little space for him to seat while her hand is still around his neck

"Why have you been ignoring me" Peony asked after Daren had sitting down

"I'm not ignoring you" Daren said "You didn't seem happy to see me yesterday" Peony said sadly and removed her hand from his neck

"Maybe you didn't want me to wake up" Peony added not waiting for Daren to talk

"I wanted you to wake up" Daren said "You didn't look like that" peony said and folded her arms

"Do you want me to wear my emotions" Daren asked and she nodded

"Yes I wear mine why can't you" she asked and he smiled

"What, why are you smiling I'm being upset here" she said

"You don't look upset" he said and she wore a confused look

"Hmmmm, of course I look upset" she said "Okay then I will leave you since you are upset with me" he said jokingly and walked to the door

He was about to open the door when her voice stopped him "Don't go"

"I thought you were upset with me" he asked "I still am but I don't want you to leave me" Peony said

Looking at her for some seconds Daren walked back to the bed and sat beside her

There was silence for some seconds before Peony broke it

"Did you think of me much, when I was kidn*pped and was in coma" Peony asked

"I tried not to but stubborn you kept popping into my mind basically every second, in your absence I realized that......." He paused and faced her before he continued

"Initially I was confused if I had fallen in love with you or not but I guess I had fallen harder than I've ever imagined"

Shocked Peony just stare "Are you happy now" Daren asked

"Hmmmm?" Peony said "That's what you wanted to hear" he said and added immediately "That's why you are upset"

"So you are saying it just to feed my ears?" She asked disappointed and looked away

"No I'm being honest here I LOVE YOU PEONY" Daren said and she looked at him

"I LOVE YOU TOO" Peony said and kissed him softly, she put her hands around his neck and pushed her body against his as it got intense.

The door opened and they disconnect from each other

"Sorry for interrupting but I need your attention Peony" Haven said

"How did you get in" Peony asked "Not your bizz I need to speak to you privately" Haven said

Peony and Daren looked at each other and Haven coughed making Daren stand up and leave the room

"This better be worth it" Peony said silently and then faced Haven with a fake smile "What is it" she asked

"Just to be clear I want you to know I saved you so you owe me" Haven said

"Why are you telling me this" Peony asked

"I want to inform you that I forgive you for ruining my High school" Haven said

"You ruined mine I was only returning the favour besides It was only senior year" Peony said

"Being prom queen meant everything thing to me" Haven said and there was silence

"Why did you hate me anyways" Peony asked

"You think it's easy accepting a step sister try that when Daren marries a second wife" Haven said and Peony glared at her

"It shouldn't be that hard" Peony said "Should I give Daren a second wife" Haven asked

"Okay maybe it was hard" Peony said "And the worst part of it is that dad started staying home frequently when you and your mom moved in, he was always on regular trips" Haven said

"So you were jealous" Peony asked "kinda, I'm sorry for everything" Haven said

"So why did you want to say this in private" Peony asked

"I don't want anyone hearing me saying sorry except for you which I could easily kill if you said anything" Haven said and Peony chuckled

A year later

"Oh my God she's so cute" Peony said and kissed her baby on the forehead

"Just like her father" Daren said and kissed Peony's forehead

"She resembles Daren" Mateo said "Dad!" Peony called out and squeezed her face

"She really looks like Daren though" Agnes supported

"She looks a lot like me" Peony whined and looked at Haven with pleading eyes

"She looks like Peony though, check the smile"

Haven said and Peony smiled

"Welcome to the family princess" Daren said and the kissed the baby's forehead before kissing Peony
