Chapter 18: Uninvited Guests

1986 Words
Everyone was unable to fully digest the amount of information Aila had given them. They are all smart people and a firm believer in seeing the facts before believing them. Some of them even wanted to see for themselves the phenomena tonight to fully believe. Aila did not force them to understand nor did she continue to insist on them doing what she wanted them to believe. Everything would become clear when the time came, so she just focused herself on her preparations for the upcoming apocalypse. Building her nest quietly and as steadily as possible. But just an hour before the expected meteor shower, her ‘wonderful’ neighbors came crashing. Her face became dark in her displeasure. Murderous intent was leaking and those who are more sensitive of their bunch had their heads turned. A plump man in his forties came over along with his family and went inside her property like it was his. He has some delicate features that he shares with the wife of Aila’s uncle. He has this nasty smile that has gotten Aila and most girls in the villa to be disgusted with him. The people he was with were his wife and two children. One was a young man whom Aila had long wanted to turn into an Eunuch and the other was a vain young woman. Aila was more than once tempted to burn her hair. You can say that these youngsters were Aila’s nemesis for things they had been children. “James, what are you doing here?” Judith asked as she hid her temper behind her smile. She has never been so amiable to the family next door due to the fact they are just too greedy and toxic in her opinion. In their circle, the Leighs were not the best welcomed people due to the things they had done in recent years. Especially this James, who was too arrogant when his younger sister married Martin. He has more than once used the name of Martin to get away from his mistakes. Her own husband himself was pitted more than once due to this man’s nerves to take advantage of his brother-in-law’s family. “Oh, we heard some liveliness here so that we decided to drop by and say hello,” James said as he nudged his children to get closer to Aila. At the same time, he urged his wife to interact with Judith as his wife should. James' wife Honeylet might be quite tolerable as she is only a weak woman who completely depends on her husband. Her cowardly and measured acts were so worthy of sympathy that most madams were quite considerate of her. She is a pleasant woman in general, only because she is really helpless in what her husband and children are too unbearable to be around with. Aila herself was sympathetic towards the gentle and hapless woman. She was mercilessly pushed by her own children and husband into the zombies back then. As the zombies of that time were still the most instinctive, she was left with no intact flesh after they were done with her corpse. Aware of the usual practice of this man, Aila easily excused herself along with her friends away from the uninvited guests. If those two really stick to her just to make themselves stay longer on her property, she will not hesitate to kill those two. She was initially planning to wait for the apocalypse to start before she would take care of these parasites. Maybe she will do something for Honeylet along with her youngest child, who is only two years old at the moment. But currently she is still debating on how she can do that without attracting anymore attention she already has. There are too many greedy people in the world and her little act of kindness might be taken advantage of by others who are not even under the scope of her help. Vivian, the daughter of James, did not take heed of Aila’s evasion and stubbornly stuck with Aila. Her eyes were stuck on Albert’s form though, no doubt, like the last life of Aila, the girl was still so obsessed with Albert. Using Aila as a convenient toolman to capture the grumpiest of their group. “Why are you all so eager to leave so fast?” Vivian said as innocently as she could. She reached out naturally to Aila like they are the closest pair of sisters. “Aren’t you being too rude to your guest dear Aila?” Aila had grown past the pleasantries dictated by the norms. In her opinion, being well-mannered is only reserved for those who deserve it. Shameless behavior and moral k********g are the worst and it is tantamount to getting the death penalty for her if she is the law. She is especially not too patient to take care of the two with pallet bullets at the moment. Unlike Honeylet, the two were completely brought up with the virtues of their father. Rude and arrogant without capital. “When did you even become a guest of mine?” Aila said coldly. “I never invited any of you and I have never been close to any of you? I am already being generous for not calling you trespassers and calling the security to get you out. Why must I welcome any of you with open arms when, in the first place, I had been so clear of what we are to each other.” The only reason why the servants of her property were unable to stop them from entering her house was that everyone was busy with the tasks she had assigned to them. This family has long been banned from the other properties of their family. Only if there is an emergency or something important that the servants cannot deal with will they be allowed to get inside. Because no matter how much she does not like them, she still has some respect for her uncle to never truly ignore them at the moment. “You’re still so sharp tongued as ever,” Vincent, the boy of Leigh said. “Fierce girls have a harder time getting married, you know? Be a little soft, maybe that will make someone like you.” “What are you saying?” Bella reacted strongly to the biting words Vincent had said. Among them, Bella is the fiercest. Although she has no future for finding her own love by her own will or choosing what she wants by the virtue of her just wanting something, she does not like others using the tone that the other is using to demean others. And her being very protective of her friends, Bella is very peculiar in maintaining the freedom that they possess that she does not have, hoping that they will be happier than she is. Making fun of others' prospects while using those greasy eyes on Aila, triggers Bella. She hates this type of man. And more than once she has dealt with this type of person by straightforwardly sending them to the hospital. “Who the hell are you?” Vivian angrily said as most of the hyenas acted in coordination to hold back Bella from rampaging. In her eyes she was jealous of how the boys were so easily taking care of the not-so elegant woman. “Someone who can make your whole family miserable,” Bella said with spite. As she said that, she knocked out Jerome with one strike and kicked Travis away in one smooth movement. The rest of the hyenas did their best to restrain Bella as some of them made sure that nothing was wrong with those who were struck by their PresidentialGirl. Jerome, especially who was knocked out cold. Liza especially, who made sure that nothing was bleeding to those who lost their consciousness. Vivian felt a rising horror as the angered girl was eyeing her with a look of condemnation. Vincent saw how strong the girl was and was afraid of being beaten. He eyed his father to step in and protect them from this wild woman. “Bella stop.” Aila reached out and calmed Bella, who was just inches away from rearranging Vincent’s face with her fist. “Why would I?” Bella asked as she hoisted the shirt of the boy with her fist. “This type of scum is not worthy of your attention or your protection from me giving him a piece of my mind. He deserves to be taught a lesson for disrespecting others on the top of trespassing on other people’s private property.” “As much as I would like to have those two crippled, I don’t want to deal with the drama they will make in the aftermath,” Aila simply said. “Let them go, if you are not reconciled, you can tell your father to not continue your family investment in their company. That will hurt them more than beating them half dead.” “Ladies! I think you guys are being too overboard with games.” James said as he saw that things were getting in a very bad direction. Although he did not know who the girl was, he knew that the people within the circles of his sister's husband's family were not simple. He does not know which of the potential investors' daughters is the girl, but he does not want a deal to be broken because of this kind of thing. The amount of information that Aila had said is small. However, something is telling him that girl could make him lose everything should she have the will to do it. They came here to brush up their presence and not be bankrupt. One investment that would be pulled out of their business is a huge blow to them if that were to happen. That is not something he wanted to see at all. “Aren’t we all civilized people who can listen to reason? Why don’t we step back and pretend this has never happened at all, okay?”James tries to undertone things to a childish fight. “Uncle.” Alexa has a huge smile on her face as she says this, calling him uncle out of polite gesture for the family of Aila. “I might not be the smartest person in the room, but I am no fool to let someone who blatantly disregards the very civilized way of interacting with people so easily. Wasn’t it a big thing for people to be respectful of others' boundaries and privacy? It was you and your family who did evil first and we are not known to be merciful to those who wronged us first.” “It is just a little squabble between you children, ” James dismissively said, as he decided that they were ultimately just children, comforting himself in the corner of his mind. Hypnothizing himself that the real power holder in the family is less likely to listen and indulge in these children and ruin each other's business due to something like that. They are only children and they are most likely not to be involved in anything about business at the moment. “To you it might be.” Bella only snorted and decided that these people were not worth her hands getting dirty. “What was the name of their company? I will put a ban on them when I get home later. This will teach them a lesson to be less arrogant in the face of people who can ruin their entire lives.” “Leigh Company.” Aila easily answered her question. “It is not a big company. Your family is a new investor to them just recently if I remember it right. Taking away this investment from them is enough for them to suffer for a while.”
