Chapter Forty-Two
Earth After a night of relaxing and enjoying each other's company, we knew it must all come to an end. The three of us were about to head out into the unknown. We literally didn't know what we were going to find on our way to the mountain. For all we knew, monsters could be waiting for us just outside the protective border. Aileen had made sure to be prepared. She sharpened her blade early in the morning and double-checked all of the things we were going to take. To my surprise, she took both of the small swords over the fireplace and handed one to me and the other to Alex. "Here. I know we didn't get much training with weapons, but these could come in handy as a defense mechanism.
