Chapter 19I could see that Nick was looking for a fight. He was bristling with toxic masculinity. “Looks like you and Fairy Queen over there are out on a date.” I glanced at Rocco who was too busy eating his hamburger and staring down at his iPhone to notice the scene playing out across the room. What with the loud clatter of voices and music drowning out Nick’s idiotic clichés, Rocco wouldn’t notice us unless he had looked in our direction.
