~Zachary Parker POV~
"Wake up you royal ass!" Vanessa screamed as she entered my room. She then walked over to my window and pulled the curtains back so the sun shone directly on my face.
"What the hell do you want Nessa?" I groaned whilst wincing at the brightness.
"I want to get your smelly ass up," She snicked with a playful grin.
"Well, which am I? A royal ass or a smelly ass?" I questioned. She frowned at this.
"Come on! It's your second first day of 12th grade!" She smiled a little.
"All the more reason to stay home, in bed, being comfortable," I ran my hands over my face. I saw Vanessa walk over to the end of my bed out of the corner of my eye. I immediately shot up and went to my walk-in closet.
"Come on! I didn't even get to pull you out of bed," She whined.
"That's exactly why I got up," I yelled from the closet.
"Your no fun, you ass!" She playfully yelled as she exited my room.
I quickly grabbed a white t-shirt, some black, ripped jeans, my black leather jacket, and a pair of black high-top converse shoes and then headed to the shower in my room.
After I got out of the shower I grabbed my phone and went to the large kitchen where I saw my mom. "Hey Mom," I said while I went to the fridge to get some milk for my cereal.
"Zach! Are you excited for your second first day of school, baby?" She grinned widely.
"Not necessarily. I'm fine, but the last few days Atlas has been trying to take over. He keeps saying 'I need to get to her'?" I asked confused and Mom gasped.
"REALLY?" She screamed.
"YES!?" I screamed back. She immediately yelled. "HENRY! COME TO THE KITCHEN NOW!" She hollered.
My father ran into the kitchen growling, looking for any danger. He relaxed when he didn't find any. "What the hell, Isabella? I told you-" He was cut off from my mother mind linking him. He gasped after his eyes went back to normal.
"Really? Atlas has been like that?" He asked.
"Yeah- Why are you and Mom so obsessed with Atlas right now?" I said, incredibly confused.
"Because that's how my wolf was before I met you mother," He said.
"Really? So you'll think I'll meet my mate soon?" I said grinning.
"Yeah, son," he said, "I'll go wake up Zeke, He probably didn't get up yet." He turned and walked out.
"Well, Mom, I'm gonna head out now. I'm supposed to meet Ethan at 8 o'clock," I sighed.
"But, that's an hour and a half from now,"
"So? What if my mate is at school? What if she is dating someone? What if she is hurt? What if she doesn't like me? What if she rejects me? What if-" Mom cut me off.
"Son, you haven't even met her yet. Who knows what she'll be like." Mom reassured me.
I went to go hug her when Ezekiel walk into the kitchen. "Awww, they're hugging," he said as he pulled his phone out of his pocket to snap a picture. I let him because I don't want to seem rude. I pull away from my mom and grab my thermos filled with black coffee, and walked towards the garage. I went to the large shelf with multiple keys on it. I grabbed the keys to the rare 4x4 brand new matte black mustang, got in, and drove to school.
~At the school~
I pulled into the parking lot of Altoona Area High School and parked in the front row. I sat in my car for about 15 minutes before a black brand new Ford truck parked to the left of me, and a red Jeep pulled up to the right of me. Ethan and Vanessa got out of the truck to the left and Andrew, Isaac, and McKayla got out of the Jeep. Andrew, Vanessa, Ethan, and I live in the packhouse. Isaac and McKayla live in their personal apartment.
It was around 7:30 so cars slowly started filling up each parking space. At 7:33 the faculty staff unlocked and opened the doors. People started getting out of their cars as well so they can get their lockers ready or talk to their friends. Out of my friends, I was the first to get out, eager if I could smell my future mate. Unfortunately, I couldn't smell her so Atlas started to panic.
Why isn't she here? he asked worriedly.
We don't even know if she'll be here, I'm just assuming she is a new student. I replied to him.
What if she wrecked her vehicle? he said
That is assuming she is old enough to drive and has a vehicle. I said.
Well, What if-. I blocked him out.
"Mate problems?" Isaac smirked.
"How did you know? I didn't even meet her yet," I said walking up the stairs of the high school.
"Atlas asked Remus about what it's supposed to feel like when you meet your mate, and then Atlas basically told him everything which leads to Remus telling me everything," Isaac said quietly enough so only he and I could hear.
"Well, don't even tell anyone yet since I didn't even-" I stopped what I was saying when I entered the school and the most intoxicating smell hit my nose. It smelt of strawberries and spring-time air. It was delicious, in every way possible. I noticed I stopped walking when Ethan called my name.
"ZACH!" he yelled.
"W-What?" I looked up at him than to an amused Isaac.
" What is wrong with you? You've been so weird today." Ethan said.
"I agree with Ethan, You didn't even wait to go to school with him and me," Vanessa butted in.
"I swear it's nothing." I finalized.
It was 15 minutes later, and we were all talking about our classes and what ones we had together. I didn't say anything because I was so intoxicated by the amazing smell. Atlas has been getting really anxious and he is still really panicky, but I told him to shut up.
Isaac and I keep sharing glances towards one another, and Ethan has been analyzing me the whole time. Before I knew it, the bell for homeroom rang, my homeroom was Mrs. Conrad; a fellow werewolf. Her class was the largest classroom in physical size and student size. Her class wasn't really a "classroom", it was held in the back of the auditorium, or the LGIA. There were about 80 people in my graduating class, and there were two homeroom teachers, so there were about 40 students per classroom.
I walked in the doors a few minutes early and went to the back of the class with Andrew. Andrew has already taken this class, same as I, but I flunked my senior year last year because of Alpha stuff. Andrew, Isaac, Vanessa, Ethan, and McKayla all stayed behind a year with me; which was super nice of them.
I sat in the very back right corner, opposite the door. I waited until the final bell rang to unlock my eyes from the door, hoping my mate would walk through them. I glanced down to the desk in front of me, waiting for my nose to be blessed by the intriguing smell they call a mate scent.
I felt really disappointed not seeing her walk through the doors. But I paid attention to what Mrs. Conrad was going to say...
"So, kids, welcome back to a new year of school. I'll start off with attendance, say 'here' when your name is called," She explained. She then started saying all the kid's names and I found myself daydreaming - about what my mate will look like.
I was awoken from my daydream when I felt Andrew kicking my feet.
"Dude, say you're here," he whispered-yelled.
"Wha-" I said; then I understood what he meant. "I'm here, my apologies, Mrs.Conrad."
"Thank you, Zach, for finally saying 'here'," She said.
She continued saying each name of my classmates. I got up to throw away a piece of paper when Mrs. Conrad said the last name on the list... Alexis Riley. I stopped about halfway to the trashcan; which was near the door. The name immediately sparked my interest because I've never heard this name before in my 12 years of going to this school. It intrigued me in so many ways. It made me wonder what this "Alexis" looked and acted like. I had this gut feeling like she was pretty.
"Is there an Alexis Riley present?" Mrs. Conrad asked again.
As soon as she said that the door opened and there stood the prettiest girl I have ever seen in my entire life. Her buttery blonde hair cascading down to her perfectly curved hips. Her black jeans hugged her legs to perfectly, and her lavender-colored sweater clung to her sexily. Before I knew it Atlas took over and he growled the first words that came to his mind. And of course, he said it loud enough for the entire class to hear...
"MINE!" he growled loudly.

So, I hope you like this book so far, I know I do. I'll try to update once a week; whether it be an editing or a whole new chapter. Things are finally getting back to normal in my house. My crazy, schizophrenic, bipolar, blind, grandmother finally got put in a nursing home. And then my older brother got a job and moved out, then my other older brother moved to Harrisburg for his college. So everything has been crazy since my pap died in October. So here I am, finally writing again, sitting next to my elderly dog, Gypsy. Life shall get back on track again.
