The darkness around me was not so thick that I would not feel anything, but it was thick enough that I could not feel the pain anymore.
Actually, the pain is so much better right now.
My lower stomach was no longer feeling like it was going to be ripped from inside out, but something felt off... like I was a bit too warm.
It took me a while to feel anything or to notice anything other than the pain and slight tingles.
I only realized that I was not alone was when I took a deep breath and a familiar scent reached my nose... a scent that I tried to forget and push out of my mind. A scent that awakened a deep-rooted desire in my chest.
