Like any novelist, I pray you readers enjoyed and valued the journey within the pages of this book. As it ends, I want to write to you, personally, on a serious note. Part of the inspiration to write Broken happened a few years ago when I found myself in an odd situation when I was the only one with any clue how to comfort a strapping young man, fresh out of the Marines and home from Afghanistan, when he sobbed uncontrollably, trying to express the pain and need caused by his memories.
