I can't do without you Troy’s POV My mind was a storm, spinning faster than my feet as I paced the hospital hallway. The sharp sting of disinfectant burned my nose, a smell I usually hated enough to drive me outside. But not today. Today, I didn’t care. I needed to stay close to Daphne, as close as I could get without barging into her room. The thought of her lying there, hooked up to machines, kept me rooted to this place I hated. She had been a wreck when I found her. Her small, almost lifeless body crumpled on that cold floor, her chest barely moving with faint breaths. The memory ate at me, refusing to let me go.
