Troy Armstrong. That vile, manipulative bastard! I saw right through his polished facade, the charming smile, tailored suits, and billionaire CEO act. He might’ve fooled Daphne into signing that devil’s bargain, twisted Cassie into some irrational, jealous mess, but he couldn’t pull that wool over my eyes. I knew who he really was, and I would make damn sure he paid for dragging Daphne into his filthy world.
I kept my distance from her the past few days, too angry to talk after she had gone behind my back and signed that contract without a word to me. It stung more than I admitted watching her choose him over my warnings. But I couldn’t stay away forever, not when she was in danger.
