Dinner was a tense affair, mostly for Nicole, having to sit next to her mate and act like everything would be well. The food was delicious but it somehow did not stop her mind from straying from the discussions from the men. Now all her secrets were out in the open and she still had no idea how Jake felt about that. Having a mate was one thing but having a mate who came with excess baggage was an entirely different thing.
