Rosabelle's POV- As I walk softly on the ground under my feet, I feel a heavy ball of emotions in me ready to burst out. I can already feel the happiness and excitement in the air as I walk to the guarding wall of the Kingdom I know as the back of my hand. Today, the whole Kingdom celebrates. The people dance in celebration not only because they welcome a new King but also because they get gifts, and a great feast. "Intoduce yourself." One of the guards says stepping ahead. "I have come as an opponent." I say without any hesitation in my voice. The guard looks back to the others before all of them burst out laughing. "You think you can defeat our King?!" He exclaims before throwing his head back while laughing. "He is not yet your King. And yes, I do plan on defeating him. So, guide me to the celebration." I say in an emotionless voice making all of them quiet but none of them steps forward to guide me. "Guide me." I insist and the first guard moves even closer to me. "Listen, woman, go back to where you have come from. You won't—" I quickly pull out my knife and keep it at his neck, daring him to speak another word. "Guide me." I say and nods before I pull away and follow him. I know it's time for the tradition where Richmond must fight off some of the few best warriors of the Kingdom. And that is when I'm going to challenge him. When I reach the crowd, the guard takes me to the a narrow path and down a little dark area before he talks to the man holding the door to the arena. The door man looks at me up and down before snickering. "Wait up, woman. Our King is already fighting." He says and I could tell from his tone that he isn't thrilled about having a new King. "I don't want him to tire. Open the doors right away." I say and he does exactly. The sound of the swords clanking quitens and all the attention is drawn towards the door guard who runs all the way to the speaker. He whispers something in his ear before running back behind the door. "Ladies and men, I have an urgent situation needing all of your attention. An opponent has arrived and has been brought here to the arena to fight with Prince Boneflare. As the rules go, if the expected soon-to-King is challenged to fight for his throne, he must accept it. He must prove the opponent that he is after all, worthy of the title. So, dismissing the regular tradition, we'll now have a combat in the name of the throne of Might Moon Kingdom!" The speaker says his words and long since when he started to speak of an opponent, Richmond's eyes have been glued to where I stand in the darkness. Can he see me? The crowd grew silent visibly as soon as the speaker stopped talking. Every head has turned to me already and I just stand breathing in a long breath before finally letting the sun kiss my covered skin. "A woman, as we all can see." The speaker hides a mock in his tone. "You never told me your name and where you are from." The door guard comes rushing to me but I just shake my head. "I don't want to say anything." "You know you can't fight being an anonymous, woman. We can't risk a spy." He says grunting, obviously not liking my presence here. "If I'm a spy, then your King will kill me today after I lose, but if I win, I will have your head for accusing me of being a spy. Now, you better let me pass." I say and he clenches his jaw. "You cannot fight as an anonymous!" He yells in a low voice. "Oh, but I will." "That has never happened in the history!" "Then you should be happy to witness me making a history." I say and that shuts him. "Someone has to be the first, you know." I say before moving in the centre where my cousin stands with a smirk on his face as he checks me out. "The lady wouldn't tell her identity." The speaker says but Richmond motions me to come closer. "It would be a shame if your loved ones wouldn't be able to find you anywhere. Tell me who you are and I promise to deliver your body to them. Or I'm afraid your remnants would lay in the rotting sun as the birds have their way with your sweet flesh." He says smirking and I do not waver my eyes from him. "That is not what happens to the people here in the Kingdom." "That's how Alpha Reynard like it. He pays respect to the dead and I do not. I feed my enemies to the animals." Richmond says dangerously and I'm happy he won't be the King. Does Dargan do the same thing? How does he torture his enemies? "It's good that I'll be the Queen then. No one wants a sadist for a King." I say and draw my sword out of my scabbard. Gasps fill the air as the Kingdom acknowledges me. Richmond's eyes draw to my sword and and he smirks. "Why am I not surprised?" He says swinging his sword in the air. "Last try, sister?" He says taking his position and though this is the longest we have ever conversed, I'm not really thrilled. Richmon doesn't let me reply but attacks me with a great force and I stumble back. He suddenly stops and looks surprised. "Oops! Did I start early?" He smirks and my eyes fly to the where me father sits. No, he is standing because not just he, but everybody has realized who Thunder belongs to. My sword, Thunder. I see worry in my father's eyes and anger in my husband's. I straighten up and the battle for the throne starts. We go back and forth while Richmond compliments my fighting skills through clenched teeth. He has been attacking with a great force but because of that, it takes him time to pull out his next trick and I beat him with my speed. His sword meets mine as we stand opposite to each other. I suddenly lower mine before quickly jabbing him in his jaw making him stumble forward. I can hear no cheers, no hoots of disappointment or joy. No one dares cheering for anyone fearing that they'll get in the bad books of the another. And if the another becomes the ruler, then may God save them. "Ugh! I really wish I had sparred with you little sister." Richmond says ducking and successfully dodging my attack. "You were just too busy, weren't you?" "Did you want me to be a proper brother to you? It's good that we are finally catching up then." He says and strike him hard cutting through his thigh. I take a step back and give him time to hold his sword tighter and give myself some time to digest the fact that I indeed craved for a brother. And the sad part was that I had one and still craved for it because Richmond never behaved like my brother. We both clash into each other again, following only one rhythm. Strike! Duck! Strike! Dodge! Richmond kicks my arm making me stumble but I do not back down and use my sword for what it is best. I tangle his sword in mine and he grunts when he realizes what has just happened. I smirk under my cover. Richmond tangles his legs with mine and I fall on the ground. His sword comes directly for my neck and roll to the side but not before getting a cut on my jaw. We are even now. Richmond goes on attacking me, and I continue to roll for my life. My cover gets undone but nothing stops Richmond. Nothing, but a loud growl. Richmond's shock becomes my opportunity to get back on my feet and my eyes meets Dargan's automatically. That... was a warning growl. A warning by my husband to my cousin. But what can he possibly do now? If someone comes in the arena as an opponent, it's either they die, or they kill. Of course, I would've let Richmond go and made yet another history but my brother doesn't really seem to consider that. "Your husband is pissed. Did you even tell him about all this? He said you were sick." I just growl at Richmond and giving one last determined look to Dargan, I fight him again. Why does he care now?! He didn't care when he was hurting me himself?! He didn't care about what I said! He didn't believe me and just assumed things! He didn't think twice before humiliating me! He didn't think about me when his mother performed weird rituals on me! He didn't believe when I said, the note was not mine! He didn't ever believe or care! So, why now?! Didn't he say he married me for a reason?! For his selfish reason?! That he doesn't even want to tell me?! Everybody just keeps hiding things from me! Dargan wouldn't tell me his reason and father wouldn't tell me what was his reason to marry me off! I'm just pissed! At everyone! I suddenly stop when I can no further get my hand to work. Why can't I move? Unknown to me, all my anger bursted upon Richmond to the point where he now has two more deep cuts and is heaving. But why the he'll can't I move?! I try to move my hand, but I cannot. I try to move my legs, but I cannot. What is this happening? Richmond breathes a few breaths before coming coming closer to me with a look that reassures my death. I desperately try to move my hands but it's like I have been frozen. I'm being held back and I carnot move past this thing. Richmond suddenly stops when Winston comes down and emerges through the doors beside us. He moves to the guard as all the people including father, mother and Dargan looks at him. The guard suddenly runs to the speaker and I feel my body relax from whatever was holding me but now it is gripped by the anticipation about the speakers words. I frown when I hear the speaker chuckle and see him shake his head. "This is indeed a very warm congratulations to our young Prince from the Princess of Mighty Moon, now the Queen of all of us. We didn't expect this fight and certainly it's not. Do not worry my friends, this is just a joke played a by sister to her brother." The speaker says before chuckling again but my frown gets deeper. A joke? The crowd erupts in murmurs and Richmond chuckles as well. "A joke, was it?" He says before turning around and moving to Winston. Of course, it is him! Ans certainly, Richmond would go to his master first! But I'm sure this lie was told by Winston to the guard. He doesn't want me to fight Richmond anymore! He stopped me yet again and I cannot do anything! This was not a joke from a sister to her brother! Richmond was never my brother! Hell! We didn't even ever talked like friends before. Today was the longest we have ever conversed. I'm pulled back from my thoughts when I hear the crowd erupt in clappings. I give off a fake smile and with my head lung low, I move towards the doors. "I think you should congratulate me verbally as well, now. I mean, the joke is over." Richmond says, but what can I do? People will talk and so, I turn and walk closer to him and Winston. "Contratulations." I say and turn to leavebut Richmond suddenly pulls me in a hug. "Thank you, little sister." He whispers in my ear and I reluctantly wrap my hands around him which feels weird. I look at Winston over his shoulder who is staring at me already. Embarrassed, I pull my eyes away from him. I remember what I always said to him. I always made it clear to him that I'll be the Queen of this Kingdom one day. And now, I have lost. In a way I cannot comprehend. He must be happy today. I know he must be. I lost to him and he can now laugh at me when Richmond becomes the King. A king who I'm afraid would be of no good. But what can I do now? I have lost.
