It was almost like a type of movie scene, as tensions were high. I was in complete crisis mode.
"What's going on here Stella? Something is definitely up", her dad asked in a loud demanding voice as he walked into the bedroom. "Have you being hanging with someone in the house!? A boy" , he continued on, "you have a history of such behaviour".
Stella was playing the good daughter, and begging her dad not to think that way. But despite her pleas, she seemed unable to prove her innocence to her father.
He was convinced that there was someone else hiding out in his house.
"Don't try and make me look dumb, I know what's going on here" , Stella's dad started to yell.
I started to count my breathes. "One, two, three, four". Each breath got heavier than the last. "Five, six, seven, eight" . These felt like my very last breathes of life.
"So it's like that? While I'm away trying to provide for you, you're busy sleeping around with these boys. You think I can afford to feed another mouth Stella" , her dad finished off saying.
Stella's face turned, and she was no longer playing the victim. Rather now the prosecutor.
"Wow, you're one to talk dad. You can't afford to feed another mouth because you're too busy feeding those women from you're supposed business trips. Oh, you thought I didn't know? No wonder why she left you", Stella yelled at her dad.
What she said caught her dad off guard, and he took a moment to process it. I felt caught up in between some serious family affairs, that I wish I wasn't watching in such live HD.
"So what! This is some kind of plot to get back at me" , Stella's dad asked her.
"Yeah, you could say that.I guess since you set the example I might as well just follow" , she told him while holding her waist. Her dad gave a large exhale and exclaimed, "you little piece of ungrateful trash. But then again you were always trash, just like your mother. So maybe you can join her and leave", he told her in a sharp tone.
Stella held nothing back, and gave a large slap across her dad's face. It echoed across the room.
"Okay! This got serious now",I thought to myself.
Her dad wiped his face and said to Stella, "well then. Let's see what exactly you found that's giving you such courage today". He started reaching for the closest handle.
I was soon out of breath as the sheer fear was gripping my throat. There wasn't enough time or space to dodge the massive blows I was about to receive from this man's massive fists.
"Well I hope you find someone in there" , Stella yelled out from behind.
Her dad was soon distracted by that statement, and pulled away from the closet.
"Phew", my heart blew out a sweet relief. They continued on fighting, and walked out of the room.I took that opportunity to run out of the closet, and straight to the open window. I ran shirtless, leaving my blue shirt on the ground.
"Hey! Hey you! Bring your ass back here!" , Stella's dad yelled out from behind.Their little argument wasn't too far out of the room, so he could easily hear my escape.
I figured if I turned around towards his yells, he would easily see my face. So like an athletic participating in both the high and long jump event, I jumped straight out of that open window from a one story height.
And with a large "THUD" to the ground, I picked myself up and ran in a random direction, though my ankle had been slightly sprained.
I didn't have to run that long or far because I was soon met up by Dave sitting on the hood of his car, eating popcorn.
He looked at me and exclaimed, " you survived Kid" I took a few large breathes in and out, and afterwards letting out a finale large exhale.
I desperately tired to explain the events of my confrontation to Dave in my short breathes, but he stopped me midway.
"No need to explain kid, I knew this was going to happen. But you managed to survive with just a slightly sprained ankle. So well done" , Dave said to me.
My face fell into anger, I yelled at him, "you knew this was going to happen!? What the hell".
"You seriously thought the test was going to be that easy. But admittedly we did make you think the test was Stella. But the real test was really seeing what you'd do under pressure if one of the girl's dad was in the picture", Dave said to me.
I was lost for words, and felt so betrayed.
"So did you smash" , Dave asked me. With an angered voice I yelled, "no"
"Sigh. It would of been much more interesting if you got caught pillow talking with a dad's little girl." , Dave replied.
I picked myself up, as my mind was still running with questions. "So how did you know her dad was going to arrive early from his business trip" , I asked Dave.
"I have my sources, and that's all you need to know kid", Dave said to me. I soon grew increasingly tired of what Dave had to say to me and told him, "take me home now".
Dave took me home, and during that drive I remained quiet.
When we got to my place Dave told me, "but seriously, well done kid. I know you probably hate me and the club right now. But everyone of us had to go through a test one way or another. So be glad that you survived"
I silently nodded, and made my way out of the car. But Dave stopped me, and handed me his hoodie saying, "Here. Wouldn't want you walking into your Dad's house topless" .
I reluctantly took it thinking to myself, "great, another hoodie from you"
I got into the house, and didn't make any small talk with anyone there. I rushed into my room and put some music on.
I walked up to my closest to look for a shirt, to only be stunned by a blinding Revelation.
"Alex Summer was written across the inner collar of all my shirts.
"Crap", I exclaimed to myself.
